"Listen Angie, ever since my son died, I was left broken. I lost the ability to feel anything like love. I became bitter about everything. I was toxic to people around me. My wife could not take it anymore so she left."
Dave paused, and heaved a sigh while rubbing his face with his hands. Angie watched him with concern.
But that night, after we had been together, I felt alive, Angie. I felt new. I do not know what this is exactly, but we could take our time and find out if..."

Angie is a single mum trying to give her daughter the best start in life, she meets Dave not in the best circumstances, as her daughter bumped into him and spilt his drink, so when he starts shouting at Charlie, she’s livid especially when her daughter is crying. She is trying to take her daughter home when she has car trouble and there is only one person around to help her. Will she accept Dave’s offer of help?
Didn’t really like Dave if I’m being totally honest even before you met him on the beach he wasn’t exactly giving off good vibes. 3.3* read.
Angie owns a bakery and has a young daughter and is taken aback when an older friend tells her she will find her lover and soul mate soon. At the beach her daughter runs into a man and he starts over the top yelling at the daughter before leaving. Upset, Angie goes to leave but her car won’t start and it is raining and the man that yelled at her daughter, Dave, offers to take her to his home to wait out the storm. He apologizes and she finds out he is upset about his son’s death and subsequent divorce. After a night of sex with him she and her daughter leave the next morning with only a note left behind. Will Dave be able to find Angie again and can they have a lasting relationship?
This story had troubling issues for me, the first being a mother who would take her young daughter and herself to a relative stranger’s house who has already shown his anger and instability. I can’t imagine anyone accepting that risk for their family even though Dave did show a softer side after his background was known. There were too many issues for me to fully enjoy this story and at least Angie and Dave waited over a year before they married. I received an advance copy of this book for my HONEST review.
Story started nicely and could see where the author was going. However, due to being intended as a short story it really went to rushed causing some confusion and a few too many questions.
Great intended storyline but author should have just gone further and extended the novel. Not certain if interned short stories have a limit on word count or not but more details would have helped this book.
Dave was broken from a loss he had suffered before he met Angie. Angie had a one-night stand that left her with a beautiful little girl, but yet still a void in her heart. What will happen when they meet. Well it’s not exactly a nice first-time experience but will there be enough interest there to spark a future? Valentina does a great job with this sweet and touching short story. I’m voluntarily leaving an honest review and exchange for the ARC copy that I received.
This read had the potential to be a great story but it kind of fell flat. It was a little too rushed for my liking. I would have love a little more detail and a little more depth. It was a nice quick read but not one of my favorite in the series.
I received an advance copy of this book for my honest review.
This book takes absolutely no brain power. It doesn't flow very well but is a easy read. It is not proof read very well. It is short, kind of feels rushed at times. But if you are looking for a quick no frills read this is the book for you.
A great quick read. There was immediate chemistry between Dave and Angie even if they did get off on the wrong foot. It was great to see the change in Dave when he had a new reason to live and little Charlie was really sweet.
