Shungiku Nakamura (中村春菊 Nakamura Shungiku?, born December 13,1980) is a Japanese yaoi manga artist. She is most famous for creating Junjo Romantica: Pure Romance. Shungiku Nakamura's distinct style of manga has been identified largely throughout Japanese and English yaoi fanbases. Her works usually include large age gaps between the seme and uke and characters with careers in the publishing industry (as depicted in Junjo Romantica and Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi). She often cowrites with Fujisaki Miyako, who authored the novels of Yoshino Chiaki no baai in Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi.
Works: Junjo Romantica: Pure Romance (2002 - Ongoing) "Junjou Mistake" (2008) Hybrid Child (2003 - 2004) Sekai-ichi Hatsukoi (2007 - Ongoing) "√W.P.B." (2004) "Touzandou Tentsui Ibun" (1998 - 1999) "Mangetsu Monogatari" "Tsuki wa Yamiyo ni Kakuru ga Gotoku" (1999) "Picturesque of a Mask" (art only) "Umi ni Nemuru Hana"
Reading about Takano and Riichan is so bittersweet... I swear the last chapter in this volume made my heart hurt but the make up was rewarding and... rewarding :3 haha
Το vol.
Oh my goodness, could it beee? Ritsu is actually beginning to treat and revere Takano like they're boyfriends~. Even going so far as to try to keep his feelings from getting too hurt, and desperately clinging to him when he thinks Takano is going to go visit competition after being hurt by him. Ritsu's gaze has also softened around Takano, and he never actually says "no" or tries to get Takano to stop anymore except as reflex... which also doesn't happen much anymore. This shift in behavior and heart happened with Takano's birthday car drive, and the conversations they had during that day. Ritsu bought him a cake and gifts (though he quickly halfway ruined it due to his pride but I think Takano still felt loved and appreciated by it, but just a bit disappointed). I can understand how Takano can't control himself around Ritsu, especially now that Ritsu's unable to hide, even from himself, that his feelings are mutual. At this point, any now rare time he says "this isn't love!" is more of a joke or him fruitlessly trying to convince himself of anything but the truth. At this point, all that's left is for Ritsu to let Takano hear how he feels. But as it stands, he's still too prideful for that. Uhh, also... Just a weird thought from observing how Nakamura-sensei draws him and how sensitive and kind he is... Takano is a switch, isn't he? He totally is, but with Ritsu, he's most definitely a top just because Ritsu is such a bottom. SUCH an uke. But... All in all, the relationship between these two feels way more human than any of the relationships from Junjou Romantica. I love that, they're really my favorite couple out of these two series and their... 6-8 different couples (oof). As for the Kisa Shota episode at the end! I love those two as well, and gosh darn it, it ended on a cliffhanger. Though I already know what'll happen. Also, this was when the anime was announced, huh? That's funny, since an anime was just announced for Kisa's project in this story. I bet sensei did that on purpose. It's nice...seeing all these people so in love. And it's so odd, how much more clearly I can see and perceive everything from Ritsu's story. It's all stuff I've read before but somehow, it's so very different to me now. I guess I've really changed a lot. I'm glad that how I've changed has allowed me to appreciate one of my favorite works even more, I hope that as I continue to change, I'll still appreciate this just as much if not more. Since last time I couldn't imagine how I see it now.
This series just keeps on getting better and better! As soon as I finished volume 2, I ordered all of the other available volumes in English, managed to persuade my father to collect them from a drop off point, and read this volume as soon as I got home. Although I was also really tired and slept for 11 hours after reading half of the manga, but it proves how much I love the volume/series. I managed to read half of it before I fell asleep, and picked it straight up after I woke up!
The plot of this volume deals with a lot of the misunderstandings that Ritsu and Masamune haven't cleared up, and focuses on Ritsu's feelings. With Shota Kisa's story, a misunderstang is starting to brew with his partner Kou Yukina.
I love this series so much and I can't wait to finish this review and go onto volume 5!

Will I ever stop smiling (and dying) when reading about Ritsu and Takano, or Kisa and Yukina? No. Nope, never. I love them so much, and reading this gives me all kinds of Christmas-feels. I wish it was Christmas again. <3
The constant back and forth between Onodera and Takano is getting tiresome. I wish Onodera would just admit his feelings and that he and Takano would stop being so childish.
I've grown fond of The Case of Ritsu Onodera, and, finally, in this fourth volume, we get some genuine emotion and fewer tiresome games between Tanaka and Onodera. Still, the book ends its “countdown to love” at 200-some days. Can I hang in that long over a relationship that's essentially between two people in bad faith with each other? We’ll see. But the second storyline, started in volume 3, is a different case entirely. The Case of Shota Kisa is about Shota Kisa, a 30 year old manga editor dating insanely handsome 21 year old, Kou Yukina, who is a fan of all the mangas Kisa edits. While the Onedera-Takano storyline can often feel forced and overly extenuated, with ad hoc or improvised feelings, Kisa’s insecurity with Yukina feels natural and suited to the occasion - who wouldn't wonder about whether their perfect guy really is in love with them? Or deal with the contradictions that come up between the needs of a new relationship and a hard-fought career path about to take off? Between the two storylines, the Kisa-Yukina relationship has the most punch, one you feel on a gut level - the kind of response that makes you want to reach into the manga and shake some sense into the characters. The Onodera-Takano relationship is interesting not on a personal or emotional level, but rather it's interesting like a puzzle is interesting - just how many oddly shaped pieces can be thrown in to extend the time it takes to solve it? On to volume 5.
Me encantó.
No te pido mucho!😎
Not quite the same amount of perfection as the last volume, but still, pretty close.
I am still LIVING for the angst. Onodera and Takano are precious and I loved the storyline with Takanos birthday, but it is slightly frustrating the repetitiveness of having Onodera pull away whenever they have a moment. But omg how their story ended! Such a perfect combination of steamy and sweet.
As for Kisa's story in this one, I started off loving it and seeing the sweet little domestic life him and his new boyfriend have settled into.
(side note, something that slightly always grinds my gears about this series is that whenever one of the protagonists is hesitant about falling in love, they always feel the need to point out that they're both men. Why?)
But their story quickly turned so dramatic and I was so frustrated with Kisa's dilemma and wtf was that cliffhanger?
Overall- I'm trying to hold off on reading the next volume considering it is the last one I own, and no store around me carries the later volumes... I'm torn between not wanting to run out of reading material and needing to know what happens next.
Takano FINALLY lets (a non-drunk) Onodera know that there is nothing going on between him and Yokozawa. I hope this puts Onodera's mind at ease and allows him to feel more comfortable around him. We also get to meet Onodera's supposed fiancee. From the moment he saw her Takano is upset and Onodera wastes no time letting him know that he has nothing to worry about. How he hasn't figured out that he actually loves (and probably never stopped loving) Takano is beyond me.
And then there is Kisa and his super sweet man Yukina. What they are going through reminds me so much of what was going on between Hiroki and Nowaki in Junjo Romantica; their work lives often got in the way of their love lives. I hope they're able to make it through this rough patch because I love them together and I really want Kisa to be happy. The volume ends on a cliffhanger and I need to find out what happens next!
3.5 stars. This volume was much easier to read. The sex scenes between Onodera and Takano came across as consensual and enjoyed by both of them even when there were some fraught emotions. I just don’t get why that’s so hard to do. Unless you’re specifically writing that kink (and you should warn for it too, ESPECIALLY in media that’s apparently marketed for YA crowds (??????? They’re all adults but it’s a YA series ??????).
4 stars. Kisa and Yukina are as adorable as ever. I love their grumpy(Kisa)/sunshine(Yukina) thing they have going on. I also appreciate while they both have insecurities, especially Kisa is pretty much an adult about it, and his drama-genre-required outbursts aren’t completely bizarre. That’s really all I ask for.
Review for vol. 4-6, including Yoshino Chiaki manga chapters.
4.5 stars, rounded up.
These volumes had some really good moments. My favorite was the moment Takano realized that he fell in love with Ritsu for the first time during their high school years. Every panel of that realization was impactful, and it was so freaking sweet, especially right after that brief moment of delicious angst when Takano lashed out at Ritsu. Oh, also I loved that moment when Takano defended Ritsu against Yokozawa's criticism, and when Ritsu confessed that very tiny 'I like you' but Takano couldn't hear him due to the storm, and other good moments I really enjoyed.
Plus I also loved all the Chiaki & Hatori chapters. I found Chiaki really charming in his own ways.
Takano wanted so badly to spend his birthday with Ritsu, and only him. I'm happy that Yokozawa wasn't able to ruin it for them. And after An showed up unexpectedly I was glad that Ritsu stopped him from leaving - he's starting to be more expressive about how much he cares.
As for Kisa... he still doesn't feel like he deserves to be loved. My heart goes out to him but at the same time I want to shake him until he comes to his senses.

Oooooh things are heating up!! Ritsu made an effort to confess something and actually open up which a huge improvement. ANd then we have Kisa.... work life balance is tougher and even more so when you're dating a prince. Godspeed to you sir!!
man this is truly the It Girl of second chance romance in any medium. an all timer of all timers. I realize now that this spoiled me for every other second chance romance. no one can do it like Nakamura-sensei!
