Disciple

Rate this book
A decade after the events of the Jazzman, this sequel follows Henri Patriquin and his family as he continues to use his gift of hearing the guilt of others to hunt a dangerous predator. Strange companions join the chase after a serial killer including a disturbed young man with a religious fixation, a troubled girl who sees through the eyes of killers and their victims, and a social worker who has a knack for being in the right place at the right time. Through it all, Henri struggles with his increasing frailty, failing health, and worries for his own sanity as hallucinations torment him.
Knowing he must help mentor a new generation of gifted detectives, including his own daughter who shows strange gifts of her own, Henri must come to terms with his own faith, political corruption, eco-terrorism and the future. His family and his friends give him strength as he realizes he has a bigger part to play and a disciple of his own.

Interesting twists in the tale that renews the reader’s acquaintance with Henri and some of the other characters from The Jazzman and introduces new ones that will be fun to follow in future adventures (hopefully).
