The Marriage Scam

Rate this book
Most people assume that marriage education must be a good thing. This book challenges that assumption, and examines the ideological background of the marriage education movement. We see a movement that, while it claims to have the answers to what makes marriages really work, and while it offers to teach the skills and techniques we need for happy, long-lasting relationships, is deeply entrenched in the ideas and theories of positive psychology and the human potential movement. Even the Christian version of marriage education promotes a view of marriage vastly different from the traditional, biblical view that has been widely believed and accepted for centuries. The Marriage Scam, which coins the term ‘marriage psycho-education’, offers a robust defence of the biblical view, and warns against the danger of merging psychological ideas with the Christian faith.
