This girl. Scout. She is the top.
So. Fucking. Adorable. Jessa’s book are a treasure which comes in small doses but with no shortage of depth, romance, steam and a little drama. The only complaint you’ll have is that it’s too short and that you only want more. That’s exactly how I felt after finishing this one. I was thinking of saving it for another day and maybe starting with another of her book but once I started, I was unable to stop. With a beautiful weather and soft music playing in the background, it made for a perfect romantic read and made it more special.
I’m drumming my fingers on the arm of my leather chair, contemplating going home and skipping the fight altogether, but something catches my attention on the Jumbotron.

Something flickers in my chest and I suck in a breath, rubbing at the spot. It has been so long since I felt anything, the sensation of my own heartbeat is unnatural.
The story is about a kingpin named Easton Brawn who literally has everything at the tip of his finger but not happiness and he’s made peace with this fact. What he doesn’t realise is that all of that is going to drop at his feet in the form of a sweet soul Scout. It was a nice feeling to look at a criminal in a different perceptive. One who knows just how much he’s had to sacrifice to reach at the top and it’s not all what it’s cracked up to be.
”I’m a very bad man, cutie. So why am I having such a hard time taking what I want here?” His fingers trail across to the opposite strap and pull it down until the dress slithers down to my waist, my breasts fully exposed, my nipples in tight points. “I could make you want it,” he rasps, his chest expanding. “You’re already halfway there.”
Wow. This is what turned on means.
The first time he sees scout is when she at a underground ring to watch a fighting match with her sister and he wastes no time summoning her to his private box. The connection is instant and it was so cute that she literally fainted within seconds of meeting him. You can feel the chemistry between the two within few words spoken. She has him wrapped around her finger within minutes.

It's probably because I read this right after MMA #1, but this one was sort of “meh” for me. It’s shorter, which means less tension, etc. Something seemed missing—the hero wasn’t quite as over-the-top although he was obsessively in love with Scout after like, two days. It was cute and the story was fine, but I didn’t feel as invested.

We get Easton and Scouts story and it was fun and steamy.
Easton is the kingpin and hes tired of the same thing.. everyone being a yes man, then he spots Scout in the crowd at the fight and knew she was different. As for Scout shes confused why the most powerful man in town wants her, and once she learns he just wants one night... but that's hard for both since they are falling for one another.
But Easton finds out there's a hit on his woman and leaves her 😭😭😭 breaking her heart. I did wish the groveling was more but then again he was only gone 12 hours.
No ow/om drama, no cheating, Slight secondary charas, sexy times, virgin gal idk his past.

Scout acompaña a su hermana a una pelea de MMA, dónde dos luchadores están a punto de ganarla como premio.
Nunca espera que ella esté en la mira de un hombre que también la desea y quiera o no la tendrá.
Easton Brawn es un gánster poderoso, el demonio mismo algunos le llaman. Lleva una vida monótona, sin nadie en ella que le importe hasta que ve la imagen de una joven sonriendo tímidamente desde su palco. Su pecho duele como si su corazón volviera a la vida.
Solo sabe que tiene que tenerla, al menos por una noche. Pero cuando conoce a Scout siente que está perdido ya que una noche no será suficiente. Y aunque lo mate deberá dejarla porque tiene enemigos y está dispuesto a alejarla para protegerla.
Después de la historia de Whitney y Maxim, The fighter's Prize, estaba como loca porque quería saber qué le sucedió a Scout!
No me decepcionó JK con su continuación... me ha encantado el libro de Scout! Me enganchó desde el comienzo y no paré de leer!
La conexión inmediata entre Easton y Scout fue tan dulce y sexy, los diálogos, me parecieron perfectos estos dos juntos. Era una rara combinación, el capo de la mafia y la científica nerd pero funcionaron perfectamente.
Disfruté mucho de las escenas en que Scout va descubriendo el corazón de Easton y cómo el hace cosas que nunca haría por una mujer.
Fue un algo decepcionante el epílogo, esperé algo más pero estoy conforme con el libro. Ojalá fuera más largo, me pareció demasiado corto!

Scout es llamada al palco privado por el mismísimo rey de los mafiosos, Easton. Su llegada es cuanto menos épica desmayandose nada más abrir la puerta. Pero despertarse y encontrarse con Easton proponiéndole una única noche juntos es mucho peor... O no? Pero para Scout una noche no es suficiente y tendrá que convencer a Easton de que para él tampoco.
Este en realidad es el segundo libro de una supuesta saga que se debería haber hecho con el otro libro The Fighter's Prize, ya que Scout es la hermana de la protagonista de ese libro.
En lo que a este libro se refiere ha sido un poco intenso pero dado que tenemos un mafioso de protagonista tampoco es que sorprenda. El esquema general de las historias ya lo sabéis: amor a primera vista, hombre posesivo, una pizca minúscula de drama y final muy feliz. Quizás en este me faltó algo en el epílogo pero de lo demás perfecto para pasar el ratito!

I was looking for a light little read, and whilst this was light and I'm usually a fan of insta-lust/love, this didn't work for me. The heroine's reactions didn't let me leave reality at the door and the chemistry between the MCs didn't manifest for me.

Mr. Brawn was in the suites at the fight that would change her sister’s fate. Scout was a cute nerdy virgin and when she found out that the devil himself wanted to see her she couldn’t control herself. Then she saw him and he was the sexiest man she could have ever imagined. The connection was instant the passion flowing and does he know a thing or two about science 🧫 🧬 !!!

For being a short story it really focused on building a connection between the MC´s.I also loved how he didn`t even last half a day after he left her.Damn how crazy these two are for each other!

I was excited to read Scout and Easton’s story when we were first introduced to them in Scout’s sisters story, The Fighter’s Prize. I have to admit, I didn’t enjoy this book as much as I did that one.
Scout is 20 and Easton is at least 10 years older than her, so a small age gap. He first sees her at the MMA fight she attended with her sister and sent his security to basically drag her up to him in his private box. He says there can only be one night between them and while he could’ve just fucked her then and there and be done with it, I guess he has sort of a soft spot for her. So when she says she’s a virgin and wants her first time to be special by getting to know him, he agrees.
How she got to know him by taking him to a bar she lived near and kinda grew up in, having him buy drinks for everyone, and barely spending any time talking... I have no clue. Because shortly after that she was “ready.”
He ends up calling himself Daddy. The term is used a few times throughout the whole book. It’s pretty mild.
Easton still thinks it’s too dangerous for her to be around him what with being a criminal and having enemies so... there are some issues with that whole situation.
We also get a tiny glimpse of the whole sister meeting thing from the previous book. Nothing really new to add and her sister Whitney wasn’t really mentioned all that much.
Easton and Scout get their happily ever after, of course. We get a cute epilogue to see how they worked out everything between them and how Easton managed to keep her safe. Cute cute. Just not as cute as Whitney and Maxim. Ugh, that Russian dude makes me crazy. Easton, not as much.

Another good read. This time we get to know Scout. She is a really smart and sweet girl she wants to work for NASA some day. So it starts out that she is at the fight that her sister is supposed to bet off to marry a creep but is hoping the other fighter will win so her sister doesn’t have to marry the guy. At which point a mobster Easton sees her and just has to have her. The bodyguards bring her and it is all about him wanting one night because he has enemies and it can’t be more. But then she starts to melt his cold heart and he then tries to cut ties to “protect “ her. She wants more and so does he but what is best for her?

I’ll call this one as a duet with The Fighter’s Prize and I loved both. Scout was endearing and it was actually touching how she thawed Easton into a more normal and happy life. Still hot with a sprinkle of kink thrown in.

I’m in a JK marathon to get out of my reading slump and this book was soo cute. The chemistry between Easton and Scout was crafted in a way that felt authentic and compelling enough to root for them despite the insta-loviness.
There was one thing that bothered me though. I know that JK has a thing for writing daddy kink scenes, but I just found it cringy in this book. It felt wrong coming out of Easton’s or Scout’s lips. Anyway it was still a fun experience. I think this was probably my fave JK ship
