There’s more to see in Florida than Disney World. Like vampires who may (or may not) be into organized crime. A clue in Charleston sends James and his friends to Jacksonville, Florida in search of Mindy and the trafficking group they’ve been chasing. They soon discover that Jacksonville is run by and home to some of the most powerful vampire houses in the Southeast, including a mysterious group known as House Wangenheim. Things go from bad to worse, and James finds himself embroiled in a world of conspiracy, crime, and ancient beings who can control the very seas. Wolfsong is the third installment in The Coldstone Case Files, an urban fantasy series featuring an American werewolf and his police officer best friend in a buddy flick with more hair than Turner & Hooch!
This is the third book in the series. Each book is only around 140 pages, so they are quick reads. I'm not used to this kind of series. Jason (werewolf), Phillip (human cop), and Lacy (vampire) are still working the kidnapping/human trafficking case from the first book. This makes it similar to a TV series' season long overarching mystery with each episode (book) working on character development and smaller bites of the big puzzle. So you definitely need to read them in order. I could see this series working in a graphic novel format. I've been able to read these three books back-to-back. I don't know how long the wait is between books. Since the main characters are still working on the same case, I hope it isn't too long, otherwise I will lose interest trying to remember who's who and what has happened so far.
Do you ever wonder whether vampires can eat or drink human foods or whether they have to defecate? Your questions will be answered!
Read for book club - Another Coldstone Case File Book (novella length).
The relationships are getting complicated, the search for the girl is getting long, and the wolf needs a good hunt. Who will get what they want?
What I wan is more information about Lucy. I have to wonder just how much of the information she has shared is incomplete - like she is "over" one hundred. How far over?
This un-cozy mystery-thriller urban fantasy series provides what a reader wants with action, character, supernatural creatures, and a bad guy to pound.
James, Phillip and Lacy are still on the hunt for the missing girls, this time they find more vampire's and a siren in there way. Good book, the main characters are now established and make a good team, as they bounce of each other.
