In this sequel to The Mistress of Auschwitz, the story continues with Eleonore as she struggles to cope with the impact of her harrowing detainment at the notorious concentration camp. Although she has been liberated by the Allies, she is not yet free from the horrors that she witnessed. Striving to heal from the trauma, Eleonore searches for meaning as she begins a new life.
But Eleonore is not alone in her struggles to comprehend these atrocities as a British officer, Hanns Volker, secures employment for her. Hanns, who is based on the inspiring true story of a German Jew returning to the country of his birth, is horrified by the reality of what many of his people endured and what he narrowly escaped.
The spark of justice is ignited in Hanns when he is assigned with the insurmountable task of interrogating the captured Nazis. While his eye lingers on hunting down those who have escaped, Hanns is enraptured with a righteous fury and must weigh the consequences of revenge against the balance of justice.
Although their paths are separate, both Hanns and Eleonore are thrust into a Germany that is still under the shadow of indoctrination. Both come to understand that there are few that they can trust and, although defeated, the Nazi plague still holds sway over those who are lost to moral decay.

I’m not enthralled with the telling of this horrible time in history. The first book In this series seemed more truthful, the second not as well drawn. Then, I’m forced to read the third to come to the conclusion. And how many times can one say “how so”?

Fantastic sequel to Righteous Fury. Loved both of these books. The first one was better. That is typical to sequels.

Pēc pirmās grāmatas (Mistress of Auschwitz) izlasīšanas, meklēju rokās otru grāmatu.

This is the 2nd book in a 3 book series. The author begins each chapter with a quote from a historical figure. The allies have liberated all of the Nazi "detention centers". Eleonore has been released and tries to comes to terms with all that has happened to her. The German citizens have been led to believe that the "detention centers" were nothing more than retirement homes, due to Nazi propaganda. For this reason the allies are not welcome. Eleonore ends up in a manor caring for an elderly woman who has lost her entire family to the war. That's as far as I'll go ... no spoilers. Looking forward to the 3rd installment.

I'll leave you with this quote from Plato.
"Dictatorship naturally arises out of democracy, and the most aggravated form of tyranny and slavery out of the most extreme liberty."

It was hard to keep track of some of the characters from the previous book who were in this one for a short amount of time, but were major players in the story. The character development for those Eleanore interacts with at the manor seemed to be lacking and it was hard to see why she had grown to love them.

Really enjoyed this book. The aftermath of WWII When the war Crimes committee was hunting the Nazis that were leaders of the Administration of the different Death camps. Showing how so many German people still had allegiance to the Nazi Regime and hated the Allies feeling they had destroyed their homeland not what Hitler did. Many still trying to revive the Nazis with the resistance . Many Germans were still Anti Semitic and unbelieving that the camps were actually death camps operating to commit genocide on the Jewish People. I love the way the author weaves the characters between real people and the historical events.

Righteous Fury Sequel to The Mistress of Auchwitz was \written by Terrance D. Williamson.
Eleanor had been freed by the men in the War Crimes I Investigation because she was the only one who could connect Hoess with a sex crime. That, she was more than willing to do that. However, she needed a job to get her by until she was free to go where she liked. They got her a job with Mrs. Meyer at her mansion. She was to work for Mrs. Meyer and also to listen for anything that could help them find Nazis who had been in the camps. Once she came to like Mrs. Meyer, could she turn her in? Would her own past come to haunt her?

Righteous Fury is the engaging sequel to The Mistress of Auschwitz. As Eleonore's journey towards healing and coping begins, the nightmares simply wouldn't astray that far. With emotions running amok, Eleonore Hodys will make the readers listen to her story filled with heartwrecking events and survival.

The story follows Eleonore and the events that take place after her liberation from horrendous concentration camp. However she has been scarred by all the violence, traumatic events and terrors which saw and experienced.

When a British Officer, Hanns Volker who is German Jew assigned to investigate the captured Nazis he will stop at nothing. He helps Eleonore get a job. While things and situations are still dire and perilous , trust becomes an asset and both must find a way to navigate the country that is still in the steadfast hold of a cruel clutch of depravity and violence.

The author vividly explores and captures each emotion in an authentic manner. The first book had me hooked and in this second book, Hanns and Eleonore characters converge to provide to the readers a sense of apprehension and trauma the people must live with during that era. Terrance has a way of transporting into the narration and it ultimately changes reading experience which is exceptional from other historical novels.

Readers who have read the first book should definitely pick this up. Because it shows the aftermath of survival and living with them.

Book #2 in a series.

The story of Eleanor continues as she tries to figure out what her next steps should be after being liberated from Auschwitz. Recruited by a man, Hanns Voelker, who has made it his mission to legally bring as many Nazis as he can to justice, Eleanor finds herself in the employment of a wealthy widow who lost her husband and all 3 of her sons in the war. The old woman is bitter and extremely particular. Eleanor is determined to help her employer heal as well as convince her that the concentration camps really did exist. What Eleanor didn't count on was falling in love. Meanwhile, Captain Voelker continues his hunt not realizing that he has put Eleanor in a very dangerous situation.

This one had me a bit more on the edge of my seat than the first book (The Mistress of Auschwitz) did.

Righteous Fury is the sequel to The Mistress of Auschwitz and 2nd book in the trilogy by Terence D. Williamson which I enjoyed reading.

Eleonore has been finally liberated from Auschwitz but she is still living the atrocities of her internment through the nightmares she endures probably for the rest of her life.

A British officer who is a German Jew Hanns Volker returns to Germany his place of birth and he has been allocated to become a Nazi hunter. He also befriends Eleonore and gains her employment for her in the countryside.

There are still a lot of Nazi sympathizers who are with the resistance who despise Hanns investigating the whereabouts of Nazi persecutors.

This book is the sequel to the mistress of Auschwitz, and it was just as amazing as the first book. The story follows a liberated Eleanor Hoodys, As she tries to find her place in the world post war. She is asked by an allied captain to help him look for SS soldiers that went into hiding after the camp was liberated.

The story is written a little different, as it now follows both Hanns and Eleanor. This book has left me on yet another cliff hanger, I am looking forward for the third and final book.

Righteous Fury is the second book of this three book series. To be truthful, after reading the first book, The Mistress of Auschwitz, I expected either the same quality or higher. This book seems to be more contrived than the first. One review of the book said the same thing. The first book seemed to be more factual while the second book seemed to be more fictionalized. I would still recommend this book to read. In my opinion, one can never read too many books regarding the Holocaust. May we never forget!

4.3/5 stars

Every time I hear stories and accounts from survivors of the Holocaust, I always wondered what exactly did they do right after they were liberated. What was the next step? How did they start over? Did they received help? How did they end who and what they were in their lives?

This continued depiction of Eleonore Hodys gave an inside look at one person's next step to a new life after such a harrowing experience. And the bits of Auschwitz that linger in their nightmares and, even, in their backyard.

Superb narration by Kirsten Potter.

Book 2 in this series deals with trials of some of the Nazi war criminals; sadly, too many of them committed suicide to escape persecution, and some were still being sought at the end of this book, hoping at least of few of them are brought to justice in book 3! Again found the writing style a bit uncomfortable to read, didn't flow as well as other books, but wanted to follow through to the end. Picking up the third book today after a brief break!

This sequel to the slightly different turn than I expected. Some additional character development for Eleonore made her seem more believable. The introduction of the new characters was essential for the story to progress. The authors acknowledgment that this entire subsequent to the first book was appreciated. It was a captivating story, and of course, in order to know the end book 3 has to be read.

If you like historical fiction, this is likely a great read for you. This is the sequel to The Mistress of Auschwitz and there is a third I won’t be reading. I’m just tapped out with the holocaust. The first book was better, this one focuses on The Belsen Trials (first trials prosecuting Holocaust perpetrators) and how Eleanore was involved in them. It’s horrific to read what happened at Auschwitz and how it was justified in these trials.

Very good book, well written, flowed well. The author makes it clear that this book and the story of Hanns is true, but that it is unknown what Eleanore’s life was like after her escape then liberation and after the trials. I can’t stop thinking about that. If Hanns in real life had contact with Eleanore, then why don’t we know more about her life? I definitely have to do some research. Only thing I didn’t like is that the pages of the book are not numbered.

Audiobook, read well, story was dumb compared to first book in trilogy. Mistress of Auschwitz was sad authentic and gruesome but that was to be expected given the subject matter. This book was not what I expected and left me thinking about other series book in which the 2nd is rarely good. I will finish the trilogy to see how the author wraps up this traumatized, strong in spirit woman. Read st your own risk pal.

#2 in the Mistress of Auschwitz . This continues with the survival of Eloenore, who was a political prisoner of Auschwitz. Historical fiction. Eloenore secures a job at the Myers Mansion as the caretaker of Mrs. Myers, whose sons and husband died in the war. She has joined up with Captian Voss, who is her liberator, to hunt nazi criminals.

This is a sequel to the Mistress of Auschwitz. Eleonore is liberated by the allies and she has found employment by a british officer (jewish) Harris Volker. She ends up working for a german lady in a big mansion. She ends up with the butler. The story continues in a 3rd book. We should find out what happens to Eleonore.

Too much fiction in this historical fiction. The flowery descriptions and dialogue make me question the accuracy here, feels dramatized in irrelevant areas and maybe slightly insulting to the story of the real people. First book was better and now I have another 13 hours to get thru the third, because of course I need to know what happens. Sped up to 1.75x because it started to drag.

Sequel to mistress of Auschwitz. It continues Eleanor’s story. It’s one of the first books I have read on this subject matter that discusses the events that happened after liberation in the death camps. It was a good read although the content is sensitive material, I believe it is important for current generations to be fully aware of the horrors that happened not all that long ago.

Read twice

I rate this a 5 star, as a sequel found this a true insight to the effort that was exhibited in the search for those guilty of horrible war crimes & the trial that brought the tragic part of history for the world to witness

Great Sequeal

Loved the way Eleanor healed by helping someone else. This book has multiple messages of hope, perseverance, and survival. The message to never give up on life is a powerful one from the best sources.

Good book but a little bit disappointed with ending

I loved book 1, book 2 is good but it is much more slow pace and I feel a little bit disappointed with Eleanor decision making. She doesn’t seemed to be fully present in the moment and that makes her careless and erratic.

I liked the first one better. This was like two separate stories. Eleanore’s and Hanns’. But it was stuff I’ve never read about…the aftermath of the camps and the pursuit of the Nazi bad guys. So it was very interesting and will start reading the last of the series today!

I enjoyed this one more than the first book. I feel that there are a lot of WW2 books that focus on the camps and the war but not as many that look at the aftermath like this one did. It was a neat change from the first one and I rather liked it.
