Samuel Carter has put one mission above all else. Until he takes down the terrorist organization that destroyed his family, all other plans and dreams are on ice. That’s why he walked away from Solitaire, the home that allowed him to meet his carnal needs and the friends who were more like family.

Erin Green just helped elect Annette Ware to the senate, and as her reward the senator named her chief of staff. Her first task is to help the senator make a splash by launching an investigation into rumors of an elite military unit operating in secret. She wasn’t expecting that task to lead her to Samuel, the hot as sin former marine with a penchant for Brioni suits. Now she has to figure out how to do her job and explore this new attraction at the same time.

Samuel wasn’t expecting to find Erin so damn attractive. Especially since she seemed to want him out of a job. That should make her repulsive. She’s a threat to everything he’s worked for. And yet, he just heard himself invite her to dinner and he has every intention of making her breakfast in the morning.

Dinner leads to more, and now they’re faced with a choice. Continue on their current paths, a choice that would guarantee they’ll never be together, or forge a new path that could see all of their lifelong goals and dreams dead.

Dangerous threats and the underbelly of Washington politics threaten to take the choice away and destroy them both. They must work together to survive.

This book is 🔥🔥🔥. Samuel and Erin have a chance meeting and it changes both of their lives forever. I love when romance meets danger. Always epic!!! The writing is the bomb with an explosive storyline that will have your heart skipping.

Another excellent offering from Ivy Nelson, the Diamond Doms series is not just a hot steamy romance, it has a strong storyline/subplot which helps to drive the romance angle. While each book could be read as a standalone I know the reader would get so much more by reading the series in order. The family feel of those involved with Club Solitaire adds to the appeal, the banter and interactions are humorous. Samuel has always been on the edges of the series, a man of mystery, but Ice sets him centre stage and boy, it was worth the wait. Samuel is a very subtle kind of Dom, but you get the intensity from his interactions with Erin. Even so, this is a man prepared to give up the lifestyle for the woman who's come to possess his soul. When leaving for a top secret mission, Samuel leaves Erin with some "homework", will she become not just his girlfriend but also his submissive? The story certainly packs a punch, as it reaches its climax I was positively shouting at my Kindle, as the varying threads came together. The steam and kink is on point as always and I'm more than a little intrigued about the unorthodox use of whisky and ice ~ but then who wouldn't be??

I've kept up with reading each book in the Diamond Doms series, and I think this is the best one yet. I enjoy the things that seem to happen in DC, like the books in Ivy's series, DC Power Games, which were my introduction to this author. Sure the woman in this book was great, but oh, that sexy Sam Carter taking care of his lady was terrific!! I very highly recommend all of the books in both of these series.

Wonderful BDSM book

This is a great book that has a lot of action and danger and it is a BDSM story with a goodly number of steamy scenes as well. I particularly loved the characters.

Samuel meets Erin, and their connection is instantaneous. Erin shows a lot of faith and trust in Samuel. Good interracial romance.

Holy Hotness! This Diamond Dom series keeps getting hotter now with a career military man! He keeps moving in the shadows with quiet authority. Lot of action that keeps you glued with romance and d/s also. Another must read by author Ivy Nelson.

Probably 3.5 stars - read on KU

This book is better than the last, which I gave 2 stars, but I still like book 2 the best and I'm a ways through book 7.

What I did like, we're still seeing the full cast of characters from all the previous books. All of these people very obviously care for one another. I like all of the characters except for Marisa and she's a mixed bag. I didn't think this book would involve the other characters as much since he resigned from Solitaire at the end of the previous book.  The way they group together in this book for the first time is amusing.

Erin is a strong character. I'm skeptical about how her job is described and by things that happen in her job. It just doesn't seem like how her job as chief of staff for a senator-elect would work. Other than being a little unreasonable about her security in general, she was a likable h. Samuel was a good guy, too. I don't see how it was possible for him to do as much in one day as he does sometimes but it definitely shows he is a hard worker.

What I don't like about the series as a whole is there are so many glaringly obvious things the characters are too dense to see or to have put measures in place to prevent. For instance, the 4th book is the first book where they have security cameras on the property at Solitaire. And even with that, they just have them outdoors at the cabins. IRL, Russell and Lance would both have insisted on cameras everywhere except maybe in the dungeon. In this book or the next, they do finally say there is a camera on the main gate but I would think they would have them around the entire periphery of the property. They would definitely have cameras on the servers as well.

Additional examples are that they believe no one has figured out where Solitaire is even after they catch someone in the bushes outside the gate snapping photos. It is in a small town in Colorado and people do know that. Outsiders know the hotel is associated to it. Obviously, by now someone would have been followed. Even if not in the traditional sense, there is plenty of technology to track a car, including drones and magnetic trackers. They have never swept for bugs - even in the first book when they knew Holly was being monitored by her father and his flunkies. Someone easily could have planted a bug on any of the board members and recorded all of a board meeting or more.

There is just so much wrong with the lack of tech savviness it isn't even funny.

The steamy scenes in this book weren't even as steamy as in some romances that aren't about sex clubs. They haven't used any of the furniture since the second book and I am now 25% through Rough. The second book was perfect in the balance between story and BDSM. There are very few BDSM elements in this book. If I am reading a book about a sex club, I'm expecting a decent amount of time to be spent there for the purpose it exists and steamy scenes to be more than vanilla with a few sprinkles.

I am also tired of women giggling. Not all women giggle and it makes them seem like less. I think the author is a feminist,  which is great, so why can't her women laugh?

The vagueness of this group of people who attacking them and the lack of each story getting thoroughly wrapped up is wearing thin. For example, in the last book, the hacker that was causing most of their problems informs on Nicholas Sutton as the person who hired him. Something was said about that would send him back to jail but the book never outright has him arrested. We learn in this book her is in jail but we have no idea how that happened, if his trial is coming up or has happened, etc.

I will keep reading but hope when all is said and done things are wrapped up neater than they have in the last two books

The Diamond Doms series features the wealthy, well-connected doms of Solitaire (the kind of fantasy BDSM club common to this genre) and the subs they fall in love with -- all while fighting the threat posed by a global criminal organization that in some form appears in every book. Because of this overarching storyline and the fact that characters from other books appear throughout, I believe these are best read in order and are not stand-alones. The romantic relationship that each entry highlights, however, is always discrete.

Here, we get Samuel, the most shadowy of all the doms because he's an investment banker by day and military/special ops by night (so to speak). During one of his cases, he comes across Erin, the chief of staff for a newly elected senator who decides to investigate Samuel's über-secretive military missions. Can their burgeoning personal relationship survive their professional conflicts-of-interest?

I've felt similarly about all these books, so once again I'll say that if you're looking for mild, consensual BDSM scenes between two likeable characters underpinned by intrigue and mystery, you may like this. Throughout, I've appreciated the strength, intelligence, and professional accomplishments of the female characters -- they submit to the dom they love, but to no one else -- and that they're all friends since so many books in this genre divide women. In this case, I particularly appreciated that Samuel was a POC since BDSM books are still overwhelmingly white.

In terms of prose, however, this entry was the weakest in the series. While the dialogue was natural and the couple's conflict was organic and high-stakes, the book felt very rushed: there were few transitions (within just a couple of lines, the narrative would suddenly shift to a different location with no warning), several glaring typos, and perfunctory descriptions of people and places. In addition, the over-stuffed plot stretched credibility, and the introduction of so many characters meant that it was impossible for this reader to keep them all straight.

While the author tries to give us fully realized romances that include both BDSM play and emotional connections, both are frequently sacrificed to redundant plot points that add nothing to the story: in this case, for example, I would have traded one of Samuel's endless plane trips for what Erin writes Samuel in her journal, which is completely glossed over. In addition, the author gives us too much detail in some cases (the trips) and not enough in others (I can't tell you what any character looks like). Finally, the highest points of tension in each book -- all of which place the h in danger -- are abrupt, only cursorily described, and resolved too quickly and neatly; and it's never fully explained exactly what this criminal mastermind's endgame is (at least not thus far).

3 stars. I encourage this author to streamline her stories: sometimes "more" is "too much." I did appreciate her disclaimer on fantasy BDSM and wish more erotic authors would include one.

If a kinster wrote Bond scripts this would be the result! Alpha male meets Alpha female in an Alpha world and eventually the stars align and Mars and Venus become friends forever!! No more story spoilers from me though!

Ivy Nelson has done it again with Mr Carter with a spicy, expensive whisky flavoured, diamond sharp, butt smacking, Thai eating, back stabbing, eye opening, gone in the flash, journal writing, learn as you go, glass smashing, cabin residing, plane hopping, friends loving political thriller. It was literally impossible to put down once I'd started reading and I didn't finish it until 3am!

This book is part of an ongoing series relating to Alpha men, their D/s relationships and a story that binds them all together as a family but it's the quality writing that really brings the books together. The consistency and continuity from book to book has been excellent and this one is no different; there are no gaps. The same cast is used and they know their parts well and then Ivy Nelson brings in strong bit part players to play the female lead and additional supporting characters; in this case I think we may see some of them again.

The two main characters for this story line are both very Alpha on the outside but with descriptive story telling we fall in love with and learn so much more about them. They are both so well planned and researched that you can almost see the vision board for each of them. As the story progresses and their faces formed in my head I could see their facial expressions and feel their emotional highs and lows and physical pain and pleasure!!

My only downside for this book, if you can call it that which is a bit harsh seeing as I loved it, is that the 'kink' didn't start until 84% of the way through the book. Yes there are plenty of vanilla scenes and mention of kink but there is no real action until quite late on. BUT DO NOT LET THAT PUT YOU OFF THIS BOOK!!!

I loved this book from page one until the end and I am totally recommending this book to you. Read the rest of the series before you pick this one up though, it will help it make sense and make it an even better read. Enjoy xx

The Diamond Dom, a military man long time hero and an oh so Hot and Steamy man.  Love It!

Samuel, the Diamond Dom a military man is one of the heroes in Ice's book by Ivy Nelson.  In Lance and Marissa's story after saving her, he left Solitaire because things were getting too volatile for Samuel and him team.  They had to be cautious and not let the blood diamond criminal organization learn about the team's missions.  So he disappeared.
Samuel finds himself meeting Erin and Trinity at a bar after his return from a mission.  There is extreme attraction between Samuel and Erin.  Erin has the ins to certain groups of people because she was just offered a chief of staff position to a senator she spent a year campaigning for her.  The time she spends with Samuel is very hot and steamy.  She doesn't know he's a Dom but it keeps getting brought into their relationship.
With Samuel comes danger as well.  He's concerned in keeping her safe.  Erin doesn't quite know what is going on when her apartment is broken in to.  Together they make a great couple.  Slowly but surely they get to know each other and Erin starts realizing that there is someone out to get Samuel and he tends to disappear without letting her know.  Something she doesn't care too much for.
This book has a lot of hot and steamy scenes, danger that follows Samuel, great characters as Erin's best friend Trinity and the long time Solitaire group of people.  Book is a page-turner and hard to put down.  A definite must read.  Ivy Nelson did tremendous work in writing this book so that the readers got the take in the elusive Samuel Carter's life.  I recommend this book to anyone who likes intrigue, danger, hot and steamy scenes and wonderful characters.

I purchased this book and also I received an ARC of this book and volunteering to leave an honest review.

Ivy Nelson has written a 5-star book.I you have not read the rest of the books in the series, you will need to read them first so that you can get the back story on all the characters. Samuel has just ended a meeting with his commanding officer Kenneth Yarberry. He sees a beautiful woman setting at the bar and he starts to walk towards her. Erin and her best friend Trinity are at a bar celebrating Erin's new job as cheif of staff for the newly elected senator Anette Ware. Sam and Erin start dating and things heat up between them. Sam has something that he is to give to a friend of his but when he goes to pick up Erin for their date, he leaves it there. Erin goes to do the gym in her building and while she is there, someone breaks into her apartment. She calls Sam and he tells her that he will be there in a few minutes. Things are going on in Sam's life that put Erin in danger. He wants to take her to his safe house but finds out it has been burnt down. He calls Hunter and asks "if he can have a room?" Things happen and Sam ends up taking Erin to the BDSM club he is a member of. Erin doesn't know anything about the club. Senator wants Erin to keep seeing Sam. Erin tells her that she is not going to spy on Sam for her. Things happen to split Erin and Sam up.
Will Erin more forward from Sam?
Will Samuel get a second chance with Erin?
This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

Wow! What a ride! Somebody really is out to get our Diamond Dom’s and this time it’s Samuel’s turn, despite the fact that he retired his board position at the end of the previous book, to protect his anonymity.
Officially Sam served in the military and retired from service, now working along side his father as a billionaire investment banker. Unofficially, he’s been working with an elite black ops unit risking his life for others as well.
Erin has been working as a campaign manager for Anette Ware, a Colorado politician running for a Senator position. Of course there’s the annoying co-worker that she’s been tolerating, but unfortunately her boss seems to like her. After a successful campaign, Erin gets a choice of position and opts for Chief of Staff.
Samuel meets Erin in a DC bar with her best friend and is captivated from the off. Boy is he smooth and knows how to woo ;-)
But some ones gunning for him and now it seems Erin as well. The only people he knows who to turn to are his Solitaire family and his team. A Senator-Elect has begun looking into the misuse of military funds. Their two worlds collide but they have off the charts chemistry and a connection that they want to pursue. They don’t know who to trust or what to do.
Another excellent, well written heck of a ride! Out of all the Dom’s so far, I think we all need a Samuel! Sexy, smooth and creative....These books never fail to hit the mark. Fantastic!

Samuel Carter has prioritised one mission above everything else - taking down the terrorist organisation that destroyed his family. Now in order to pursue that he has walked away from Solitaire the home that allowed him to satisfy his carnal needs while meeting his friends who are also his family. Erin Green helped get Annette Ware elected to the Senate and as a reward is now her chief of staff. The first thing is to launch an investigation into an elite military unit operating in secret. That task leads her to Samuel, the hot as sin former marine with a penchant for Brioni suits - can she do her job and explore this new attraction? Dangerous threats and the underbelly of Washington politics threaten to take the choice away and destroy them both. They must work together to survive.

I really enjoyed this story which had the intense attraction between Samuel and Erin, the old enemies of Solitaire trying to bring Samuel down, the attacks on Erin and their sexual discovery of each other. The way that the Solitaire family all supported the couple was a delight to see as they did what they could to help them with the attacks, the political situation and Erin's BDSM questions. I enjoyed his ineptitude at communication and having a relationship which was a little at odds with his skills as a marine. Easy to read and understand. Contains mature content some of which is of a BDSM nature.

A Little Help From Your Friends

Sometimes, what a guy really needs is a little help from his friends. While taking a few days break from chasing an old nemesis, Samuel meets Erin, and while it may not quite be love at first sight, it’s certainly serious attraction at first sight. Both become attached. When Erin is asked to investigate him by her new boss, things become really complicated, especially when she finds out he’s doing exactly what her boss is concerned about. All of that happens in the first few chapters.

From there, everything unfolds into a great romantic adventure. With people chasing both Samuel and Erin, Samuel reaches out to one of his friends for help. With his group of friends, though, when you get one of them, you get all of them, and when they set their minds to it, there’s nothing these people can’t accomplish. Erin keeps trying to do her job, but she is caught up in the maelstrom of everything going on. To top that off, she’s learning about BdSM and how it applies to her. Their lives will definitely never be the same.

This story slowly and carefully reveals the secrets that make Samuel Carter the heroic man he is. By a lucky chance, he meets Erin at a bar, where she is celebrating her new job. They are immediately attracted to each other, but it is a bit difficult to connect smoothly, because of their work related duties.

I love the way Samuel goes out of his way to make sure Erin is protected and continues to remain safe. On the other hand, I would like to shake him for the way he attends to some of his super-secret assignments.

Erin knows very little about BDSM, so she is quite shocked when Samuel takes her to Solitaire, where he is a founding member, to keep her incognito. As she meets more of the members, Erin begins to become more intrigued with the concept. Will these two characters find a way to unite? Will they overcome the difficulties surrounding them? Will Erin come to enjoy a bit of BDSM?

This book is enthralling and intriguing. It is so worth the read!

This is a thrilling action packed, page turner with secrets, action, intrigue and some hot intense chemistry with a well-deserved HEA. The characters are well developed, strong independent with some unique personalities while the plot and story line are filled with twists and turns and revelations.

When Samuel and Erin meet by chance in a bar they feel an instant connection, a spark and embark on an romantic adventure with their jobs adding to the suspense and action, Erin's boss the newly elected senator wants Erin to date Sam to get information and Sam is putting Erin's life in danger when his enemies come calling. When they have to stay at the BDSM club, Erin gets quite an education. Excellent read, highly recommended.

Ice is so Hot

I really liked Ice. It is Samuel story but it also visits them DC Dom's, and All the Diamond Doms series. It was full of action adventure, military and mystery. The full series won't be completed until they figure out what is going on though so while it's another Dom finds his love.. The mystery continues... I absolutely love this series this author and the content. I am so hoping Ripley(RIP) becomes a Diamond Dom his colour should be either Deep Plum or iridescent black. I can not wait for Hunter's story. Dakota needs a very interesting maybe polygamous double Doms... And her nemesis he could do with either a partner to help tame Dakota or a funny daredevil who loves Dakota.... Just for fun. I can not wait to see where Ivy Nelson takes the Dom's and Subs in the future...

Damn, they are better and better!
It’s time for elusive Samuel to say his story, and past time for him to find someone who tight him down.
And this someone is Erin - a sassy, smart and bossy chief of staff of newly elected senator.
And she has something that hook Samuel at first sight.
I love Ivy’s heroines - submissive in the bedroom, but sparkly, smart and on them own right in their lives. And the doms..... hot as f**k, as someone said....
And next is Hunter’s story...... I wonder who will hook him? Maybe Trinity? Becouse is sure she fitt with crowd!
And beside learning off all the relathionships, I want to find out about the dirty diamonds plot!

Very steamy, well-written, hot story. Samuel and Erin meet while Samuel is taking a break. They become attached to each other. Erin's boss is asking her to investigate Samuel and that's when things become sticky. Things fall into a great romantic adventure, with people chasing them both. Samuel finds that he needs to reach out to some friends but the motto would be all for one and one for all so they all show up to help. Erin is still trying to do her job but she's learning about how she and Samuel fit in with their new life together with BDSM and how it affects her. Love how they all pull together like a family and found this story to be exciting, thrilling and on edge till the very end. I received an ARC copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I love this series

After Erin’s candidate wins her election, she’s chosen as her Chief of Staff. It’s a crazy, fast life but she loves it. Unfortunately, it also means she has no social life, until one night she’s approached by the most attractive man she’s ever seen. Neither of them realizes how much their lives are about to change.

Samuel lives his life on a fine line. He’s a successful businessman but he’s also part of an elite team that is sent in by the government to solve delicate problems. On paper they don’t really exist so Samuel has to keep his head down. He’s also a founding member of Diamond Doms, an elite BDSM club. When things get too much press, Samuel resigns from the club but soon needs the other members’ help. Can he protect the woman that he loves?

Ice was another fantastic addition to the Diamond Doms series. I love Club Solitaire and all the members. We finally learn about the mysterious Samuel Carter.
Erin is a campaign manager that is intelligent, a hard worker and a beautiful lady. Samuel is... oh what did Trinity say?? Hot.As.F**k! *Grins* He's dominant but caring and protective. He has a mission to complete and she has a job to do. They had work conflicts but brought the heat! I really loved all the characters and the sense of family. Thrilling and excitement kept me on the edge throughout this fast paced story with surprising twists. Well written, action packed with a great storyline and amazing characters.

I received an ARC of this book from the author. I love this series and this book continues a wonderfully suspenseful, sensuous, emotional, erotic angst driven story line. All of those are characteristics of Ivy Nelson's ability to bring a story to life in a realistic and driven way. I have not read this series in order...that has created a bit of spoiler type reading for me. So, I highly recommend this series with the suggestion that you begin with book 0 which is titled Hard. Ivy Nelson is one of my favorite BDSM writers. Erin and Samuel's journey is a page turning adventure that is hard to set down to do life. I am excited for the next book.

Wow, this book is hotter than a hot potato. I could not put this book down. It jumps right in and just takes over your whole life until you finish it. Alpha, dom, male protectors, I can’t get enough of them. And now that I know there are four books before this one, I am definitely going to go back and start at the beginning. Filled with danger, drama, instant attraction, love at its highest form and when you throw in black ops military missions, D/s and politics, you’ve got a fantastic book on your hands. Highly entertaining, supercharged action, drama and danger, great storyline, great characters that you can relate to, great love story. Overall…Superb.

This is an amazing story. There is Samuel is with and Elite Military Unit. He is taking down crime families after they killed his. Then he meets Erin who is working for a senator who wants to investigate this secret elite military unit. They meet and start a relationship, but there are secrets and people plotting against them. With DC politics it may not be the best time for a relationship, unless they change course and look for what they really want. I loved this book the action the drama the romance it was all there.

I really enjoyed reading Ice: A Diamond Doms Novel by Ivy Nelson because it was such a great book about Samuel and Erin. Samuel was ex military and on a mission to destroy the organization that destroyed his family long ago. Erin was just appointed chief of staff to a newly elected senator. They meet and sparks fly between them and that causes some issues for each of them. They have a hot and steamy relationship but there are forces out there that are willing to do anything to tear them apart. I received an ARC of this book in exchange for a honest opinion. I loved it and I just bought the book too. This is a great series that I highly recommend reading.

Samuel has always been secretive when it came to what type of business he's in. It piqued the Solitaire board members curiosity but never they never asked. He never knows if or when he will return.
Erin has worked hard to become the chief of staff. When the senator asked her to check into a matter concerning the military she was a little reluctant since she recognized the man's name she had just shared a bed with.
Erin and Samuel have a hot chemistry. When Erin faces danger Samuel disappears.
I suggest reading from the beginning to get the full story of these characters. You will definitely get hooked on this series!!

Do we stay on course

Erin works for a new state senator and she doesn’t have time or interest for dating. Her first task is to investigate an elite military unit rumored to be operating in secret. During the investigation she meets Samual. She thinks he is a sexual god. He thinks she is the most beautiful woman he ever seem. Samual is a supposedly retired marine, but he is after a world wide Criminal group that killed his mother. This is his total focus of his life. But the chemistry between them is out of control. Now they have to decide if they can be together. Give up their life goals. Love conquers all.

OMG! Every book in this series is better than the last.Even though Carter was the main character it makes me feel connected when all the characters from all the other books are in each and every book. There is enough suspense and kink to keep your interest. I would have read this in one day if I didn't have to get up today at 6am for work. Can't wait for the next book about Hunter. I'm sure it will be as good as all the others. I'm glad I found this series and all the other books by this great writer. For anyone who has not read the series get the first book and you will be hooked.

This series gets better and better, there is mystery and romance and BDSM and in this one politics.  All these elements are twisted together to keep the reader on their toes trying to figure out who is to be trusted and who isn’t.  Slowly we are learning more about Grant Sterling and there is a big surprise for Erin when she finds out who he is.
While most of the action does not take place at Solitaire, all the characters are involved in Samuel and Erin’s story and play an integral role in helping them both.  A great read and I can’t wait for Hunter’s story.

Hot Bi-racial D/s relationship

WOW!! Samuel was not what I expected. He was so much more.
Erin is a powerful woman who did not even know she was submissive until Sam walked into her life.
The ups and downs they encountered are a little more than a regular D/s relationship but it works for them--eventually.
I LOVED this book and am waiting for Hunters book to come out.
