Wells & Meadow have a very rocky start so to say. He is wealthy as sin and sexy. She is smart as a whip and hates the wealthy. They have a battle of the minds so to speak, but the one thing neither of they thought they would have to battle was their feelings.
Wells opened up to Meadow surprisingly and Meadow stayed guarded not so surprisingly. These two have a more complicated relationship than either of them even realize.
Wells has a lot of faults, but he also is this very generous, kind, loving, and SEXY AF man. He falls for Meadow in a way he never has for any other women...Meadow has the power to break him...and she tests that power. Wells is a complicated man, or so he seems. Once you get to the heart of this story you will fall head of heels for Wells (I still love Dex the most tho) ;)

Wealthy Playboy – Cocky Suits Chicago Novel – Book 7
By: Sloane Howell and Alex Wolf

Wells Covington, man whore, playboy, wealthy, and a man with no heart; or is that all an act? Up until this book we think we know who Wells Covington is, but is he all of those things? Brilliant - yes, sexy – no doubt, caring – maybe about his bank account, but doing something nice, what? Wells, really?!

Meadow Carlson, she has an objective, to hit Wells Covington hard on his bottom line, Meadow’s problem is she thinks she knows Wells, she thinks he is like all the other billionaire hedge fund playboys, but she has no idea, no idea at all.

Watching these two play games with each other is worth every cent of the front row seats we readers get in this story. The heady back and forth, the heat, the sexual tension and oh dear lord the release of that tension! Heat oozed off those pages!

Throughout this story Sloane Howell and Alex Wolf kept us laughing, gave us the reality of who Wells really is and the sadness that can take away the beauty of loving someone and the tension and grief and the lies that can push people apart.

I am going to warn readers however, bring tissues, bring lots of tissues and when you run out, bring more. There will be tears, both sad and happy and there will be a grand gesture.

There is also something brewing in New York, with a rival law firm.

Sloane Howell and Alex Wolf have kicked the Cocky men of Chicago to the next level, cocky alpha dominate men who, when they fall, fall hard and love hard and if that isn’t a draw to these men, I don’t know what would be!

5 Stars to Alex Wolf and Sloane Howell, this is the best book of this series.

Ok, so this just got quite emotional! This book started with two extremely smart, head strong people who are so driven in their careers that it's only natural they will clash. There is a very high likelihood they will butt heads, and do it often. And they do to some extent, but the sexual tension between them softens the blows some. Both these characters are so hard core in the business world, and they have a take no prisoners attitude. Only difference is, he's in it for the money as well as the control. She's in it for a greater good. To help others. Both keep their personal lives private, and both have secrets they are keeping from the other, as well as the rest of the world. These secrets come out at the worst possible time and cause great turmoil for the couple, before they even really formed a solid relationship. There are laughs throughout (mostly coming from the side characters, whom you may know if you've read any of the other books in this series.) About 70% in though, it takes a turn into the Kleenex zone. Be warned. Tears will fall. There is some sexual content, that is pretty darn hot, but honestly, there's not a lot. The story isn't really about that. Oh don't get me wrong, the tension is all there and the want is there. And it is still suitable for mature readers. It's a well told story that is easy to read. It alternates between POVs.

*I received an ARC of this book.

Anyone else amazed by the fact this is the seventh book in this series... and such a great series too! I was a bit saddened in this one though ...since a tragedy happens... that brought some horrible memories back for me. My father passed by brain cancer and some of the reflection in this book just made me sob horribly. I’m just giving a heads up to anyone with this trigger.

What did I like? Wells has shown up in several books in this series, rich, pompous, and always with a couple of girls on his arms. Although in this book one woman catches his eye... and they play a cat and mouse game that totally intrigues Wells. I loved the ending though... great work guys!

Would I recommend or buy? So I’ll be honest... I love this series but tear jerkers are not my favorite books. There are some sad notes in this one that wasn’t felt in any other book and I sometimes resent authors for this. If I want to cry I’ll watch a Disney movie. Both authors display a funny joking demeanor and I just didn’t think they had it in them to make me cry but that just goes to show how talented they are really becoming.

I read a complimentary ARC and voluntarily left a review! Five stars!

I’ve been secretly pining for Wells Covington throughout his prior interactions with the crew. From his sexual tastes, his extreme intelligence, to showing up with 2 women on his arms or telling Mary exactly how shit was going to be handled.......he’s had my attention all the while being a secondary character.... boy was I perched for his book.

Wells and his superior EVERYTHING finally meets his equal in Meadow in every way and the some. Meadow is a brilliant genius heroine who will have you rooting for her all throughout. What ensues is a romance full of complications, feels, and sexy smutty that had me turning pages till the AM.

I’m thoroughly impressed with Wells and his character development throughout the series and loved to finally read his kind of love

The book that so many have been waiting for...the fall of Wells Covington. Cocky, arrogant and absolutely gorgeous man has his layers peeled back in this book and you get to see a side of him that you never knew existed. Totally unexpected. Meadow is unlike any of the other women in this series and she is not Wells type at all! This book was funny, hot and emotional! Well done!

I have been kind of silently following this male (Alex Wolf and Sloane Howell) tandem's work in Cocky Suits Chicago series...

and yeah, so far, the brothers (main characters) were a blast...but their stories never quite made it to the top of my book shelf...cause well, I'm picky and I'm quirky too...and fleety at times BUT I do like consistency, so I keep coming back to the same pattern seeking for the fresh approach every time.

So, in short, book #7 in the mentioned series was/is the winner, for me!

so, there! *wink*

keep it coming, guys...

Wealthy Playboy is the seventh installment of Alex Wolf and Sloan Howell's cocky suits Chicago series.
This story takes you into Wells Covington's life everything you think you know of the Wall Street mogul is just a little bit of who he is. yes he's cunning, he's a force to be reckoned with in the financial world, he's so smart he makes Smart people feel stupid, he's arrogant, cocky, plays by his own rules and has an I don't give a shit attitude. He gets what he wants and it doesn't matter who he has to crush along the way. So when he meets Meadow Carlson after she and an accomplice vandalize a 25 million dollar wall of his newest project he's taken aback and thrown off kilter. He's not sure what is happening but he's going for it full throttle and he won't lose.

Meadow Carlson is a genius. She sees the world in ones and zeros, over analyzes everything. she's always two steps ahead of everyone else she's a workaholic and is trying to save the world one small step at a time. she's on a crusade trying to right the wrongs of the big business world there's more to her then we first see. She throws herself and work and doesn't play by the same rules and think the same way as most brilliant Business Financial people she's out to help people and when she in Covington first meet it's not on good terms but there's something there she just can't analyze it
This book has more emotional roller coasters in it than any of the previous books in the series you will laugh you will cry sometimes all the same time tears of sadness Joy there's even some cringe-worthy scenes in the story and plenty of the hot steamy sexiness that we've grown to love and crave and this series.
Meadow and Wells are two peas in a pod in all reality they fit together perfectly but neither one of them know how to show emotions and do the social thing they're both withdrawn from the social cues that most people have their circle is small and when Meadows life comes Crashing Down, her secrets are revealed and it is something that affected Wells unknowingly,
so the only thing she knows how to do is pull away from Wells and push him hard and far away from her.
Of course Covington is just as confused with his emotions there's anger love confusion betrayal and loss he's not sure how to process all this because it isn't numbers on a spreadsheet,
its emotions and feelings he's not accustom to. Thankfully he has his best of friends Dexter Collins Cole Miller, his number two Lipsy and his trusted friend and Orson to help pick him up and put him back on track to get the love of his life back.
Tempers flare Sparks Fly and your emotions will come Crashing Down. You'll be all over the place and love every minute of it. I've never been disappointed with anything either of these two authors Alex and Sloan work extremely well together they have a dynamite dynamic that just keeps you wanting more.
This is definitely a five-star and I must have and must read you will not be disappointed.

Wealthy Playboy is the seventh book in the Cocky Suits Chicago series and it is as wonderful as all the rest have been! It's not difficult at all to get immersed in the world that Sloane Howell and Alex Wolf create right from the outset.

Wells Covington is rich as can be and while he has his faults, he's wicked smart, generous, kind and he's got a whole lot going on in the looks department. ;-) He's not known for having just one woman on his arm, so when he meets Meadow, he is taken aback by the fact that his interest lies solely with her.

Meadow Carlson is brilliant. She has a mind that analyzes everything and in most cases, she's ahead of everyone else's thinking. She's a workaholic and she's focused on doing everything she can to help the world even if in small ways.

When Wells and Meadow meet, the chemistry is clear, yet neither one of them really want to do anything about it. They are perfect for one another, but showing emotion is not something that comes easily to either one of them. Wells finally opens up to Meadow, but she continues to keep things close to the vest. Even though Wells may be a bit further along when it comes to their connection, he's willing to wait her out because she's that important to him. Will his patience pay off in the end?

There were a lot more emotional ups and downs in this book than I was expecting, but it was perfect. I loved seeing the vulnerability of both Wells and Meadow at different times and it showcased how strong they both were in their own right. I enjoyed the role that Wells' friends played in the story as well - there is never a substitute for great friends and how they can bring perspective!

Another excellent book by two of my favorites. Well done, gentlemen!

Sloane Howell and Alex Wolf just turned my book heart inside out.  This duo just delivered a book boyfriend that can’t be resisted and refuses to take no for an answer.  He will not be ignored!

Wells Covington is the ultimate Alpha and a grade A AHole, but Lawd have mercy on my heart, I can’t help but love him lol.  Throughout the Cocky Suits Chicago Series, Wells Covington has made himself known. He wields his wealth and power with a mighty fist.  He bows to no one, no one until he meets Meadow Carlson.  Then he kneels, willingly.  She is a woman that wields confidence, intelligence, and a strength that Covington not only admires but respects.  She’s the missing piece in his life that he finds himself wanting.  They embark in a battle of minds and bodies.  Unfortunately, Meadow isn’t willing to let her guard down. But Wells does not lose, at anything, and he isn’t about to start with her.

This story wasn’t anything that I expected but it most certainly did not disappoint.  Wells has so many twists and turns, but he is definitely worth the journey.  This entire Series is unput-downable, steamy, and a MUST READ 📖

I love this series so much. Honestly, all of the books have been amazing. I didn’t expect Wealthy Playboy to be so emotional, but damn if I didn’t cry while reading it...Meadow and Wells were such an interesting couple. There’s Meadow, who hates everything that involves wealth and power. She’s determined to help the less fortunate no matter what the cost. On the other hand, there’s Wells, who is a powerful and wealthy businessman. Unbeknownst to Meadow, Wells is actually quite the philanthropist himself. He built his empire from the ground up. Put the two together, add some secrets and lies, and there are bound to be problems. The tension between the two was downright delicious.

Enemies to lovers? Check. Sexy scenes? Check. Dirty talk? Check. Surprisingly emotional moments? Check. An alpha male with a soft side? Check. Appearances from the Collins brothers and their wives? Check. Wealthy Playboy has it all!

I loved this book - the series just gets better. Wells Covington is smart, sexy and not at all like he was portrayed in the previous books in the series. Tough in business but when he meets Meadow he knows he has met his match and he just completely falls in love. Meadow constantly challenges him and it makes him want to be a better man. Wells is in the process of developing a building full of condos which he intends to sell to the rich and Meadow wants it and will do anything to get it.

I love how the story incorporates the other characters from the previous books - these types of series are the best kind. I hope there is a next one - possibly featuring Penn.

I received a complimentary ARC and have voluntarily left this review.

Well well well - This turned out to be a fast and very enjoyable read. I had a feeling about Wells and to tell you the truth authors (still) managed to surprise me by him. He was portrayed as an ass really in previous books so I'm happy to see he was not (just!) an ass. He was controlling and demanding but he still had people who he trusted and we're loyal to him. That says a lot about a persons character.

Now let's talk about Meadow; she was strong, determent and resourceful. She brought him to his knees and live to tell about it. I absolutely loved them together and the grand gesture at the end of the book??Swoon and amazing ❤️

Oh my gosh Wells, oh how I loved him.

When we’ve seen Wells in the earlier books we know he’s a playboy, always having a woman or two by his side but not keeping the same one around for long.

Meadow is absolutely adorable. She’s feisty af and you can’t help but love her.

When the two of them meet it’s an instant shock for both of them. The way they both open up to each other and feel completely at ease doing so shocks them.

This couple was everything, I loved everything about them especially how well suited they were for each other. The love, the hate, the push, the pull all of it was simply great.

I absolutely loved that these two brilliant authors had you disliking wells in the other book and doing a complete flip around in this book and ending up with you loving him, gah!

The bigger they are, the harder they fall. Wells is on top of his world and nothing can stop him. Meadow comes along and tries to stop one of his biggest projects. Sparks start to immediately fly for Wells, even though he isn’t quite sure about it. The story follows their relationship through some very thought times and sometimes you aren’t sure they will get their happily ever after. But love conquers and they get there! Definitely worth the read and a great addition to the series!

Wells and Meadow are oil and water in the beginning. Like any great relationship it takes work. I really love both of these two. At first I just thought Meadow was hard headed but no she’s a strong woman through and through. This is one series I know I will read over and over. I NEED to get all these in paperback!

What can I say about Wells and Meadow. Wells hot and cocky. Meadow sweet and sceptical of men in particular because of her past. Their chemistry is off the charts. Her past comes between them at the most inopportune time. Wells has to think fast once he realises what he did.

The opening line in this book is priceless. In the real world, I'd be thinking "awww, such an ass, don't even come near me." But being fiction, I found it hilarious. Finally, we are treated to Wells Covington's story, the savvy, brilliant & successful billionaire with zero desire for a relationship until he meets his match, the brainy & feisty Meadow Carlson. These two bump heads instantly & of course when characters despise the other, an undeniable love/conflict is in the making. The authors created a very interesting plot which brought out hidden feelings & character traits usually guarded by the driven business minds of the two MC's. I can't explain why, but I didn't feel as much of a connection to Meadow as I did with Wells. He knew he had to grovel, plead & open his heart completely to successfully enact one of "Dexter's romantic gesture ideas". And he was brilliant. You know you are reading the words of a great writing team when one chapter flows so easily into the next & this was apparent in the entire series. With comical side characters, brief sightings from the Collins brothers, it's another wonderful continuation in this series. Book eight, see you soon.

Howell and Wolf introduce us to the seventh Chicago playboy, who has infiltrated himself into the Hunter Group; Wells Covington. Now Wells is very smart and clever, so much so that he was way ahead of his university professors; he is tall, good-looking, with the body of a swimmer; a billionaire and successful businessman; women come and go with him. And then he meets Meadow Carlson; the woman who causes him $25,000 worth of damage to one of his buildings; the woman who is fighting for the social injustices and poor economic conditions of Chicago’s poor; and he is smitten, not just because she is beautiful, but because she is smart, smarter even that he is according to Wells, and not dull and boring. With her, he has to always be alert, on his toes, trying to anticipate her next move. There is nothing wearisome and humdrum about her!

But she has no time for a relationship. She is tough, she is diligent, she is devoted to her cause, but underneath her hard exterior is a beautiful woman, a woman who wants to trust somebody. And once we meet her father, we understand why she is the way she is. Why she is so driven, why she cannot trust another man, a man like Wells Covington. Why she is so unforgiving and her legitimate reasons for being so. Can Wells break down that exterior and open her heart to love?

We again meet up with the other Chicago playboys and laugh at the humorous insults they hurl at each other. Dexter once again has the privilege of coming up with the idea for the big romantic gesture at the end because we know that the boy will get the girl, no matter what he has to do to win her, and he will do anything.

The scenes with Meadow’s ill mother were beautifully written and filled with such pathos, bringing back personal memories and filling my heart with sadness. I am not ashamed to admit that I cried through some parts. There are many timely references to movie characters and movies themselves. And we get a good lesson on the current economic condition that Meadow and Wells are working in. Howell and Wolf are very good at letting us learn, through words, how their main characters’ personalities change. Sometimes, it’s like the light bulb went on, and we know exactly when that happens.

A very well-written book and an enjoyable read. Loved it as I loved all the others, and look forward to the next one.

"I haven't had a good challenge in a while. Shots fired. This feels like the beginning of a war. And I'm going to enjoy it."

Oh. My. Lord!! Ok, I am totally head over heels in love with Wells Covington. I mean, I know he's fictional, I'm not delusional, but Holy Hannah I wish he was real!! Who am I kidding? He's much better left in my fantasies, where anything can happen!

So, in the other books in this series, we get glimpses of Wells and the impression you're given is that Wells is an arrogant, self-centered womanizer, and that nothing is more important to Wells than himself, his extra-curricular bedsport, and money. But, let me tell you, there is so much more to Wells than that. You get a little peek in the book before this one, but you'll get the whole picture now. He's so used to getting his way, having everyone bend to his awesomeness, so when Meadow comes along and calls him on his crap, challenges his intellect, and outright throws down the gauntlet, he just becomes......well, human. Has he finally met his match? Are his days of surgically-enhanced women finally ending?

I absolutely adored Meadow. A genius in her own right, she's calculating, devious, and determined. She loathes everything that Wells stands for - the elite, who she feels look down from their ivory towers, snubbing their noses at the common man and the less fortunate. Well, she's about to find out that Wells is not all he appears to be. Yes, he's rich, and the amalgam of the big-bad corporate monster. Add to that his physique, good looks, and that brilliant mind of his, and she's bound to lose sight of her goal - to take his project down.

These two had such an amazing push and pull. She keeps him on his toes. He keeps her on her toes. That friction heats up and before you know it - KABOOM!! What a pair these two are. I swear.

I love a good enemies to lovers story, and this one does not disappoint! I mean, who doesn't love it when the arrogant, confident, dominant man, is literally brought to his knees by the right woman, huh?

If you haven't read this series, definitely plan on doing so as soon as humanly possible! If you have read it, you won't want to miss adding this one to your library!!

Wells Covington ... perfectly challenged

WEALTHY PLAYBOY
is the book I've been waiting for. I was dying to see what Alex and Sloane had in store for Wells Covington. They found his perfect match, or should I say challenge, in the form of Meadow Carlson.

From the first chapter, Alex and Sloane spun a tale that kept me captivated. It was intriguing, emotional and even romantic. Wells is, to put it bluntly, a man-whore, a womaniser, he'd rather play with two women at a time than one. He's extremely wealthy and not shy in showing it. What lies beneath this showman exterior? Is he what he makes himself out to be, or is there a hidden Wells? Meadow is a mystery, not much is known about her, other than what she allows to be divulged. She has one goal ... to hit Wells where it hurts -- in his hip pocket. She's a feisty, sassy, strong independent woman, who only sees Wells as the man he is portryed to be. Has she been mistaken in her assumptions?

WEALTHY PLAYBOY is such a greta read. From the very beginning Wells and Meadow challenge each other in every way possible. Finally we get to see the real Wells, a man who is tender, caring and very possessive. Don't get me wrong, the arrogant businessman is still there, and he comes out when he's needed. Wells seems to be an open book when he's with Meadow, however she is still guarded, still keeping secrets. Together their chemistry is off the charts. Passionate, sexy and hot - a perfect combination. This is a relationship ready to explode at any given moment.

Once again Alex and Sloane have outdone themselves. An addictive storyline that I could not put down. At times it becomes really emotional, at other times I was laughing my head off - especially when Dexter and Cole enter the foray. Another exceptional read from these two extremely talented authors. This is a series that MUST BE READ.

Another grand slam in this amazing story of Wells Covington and Meadow Carlson. In the previous books in this series where we have run across Wells he has been arrogant, cocky, ruthless in business and a playboy manwhore who always has at least two women on his arms. He is highly intelligent, influential and filthy rich. Then he has a run in with a woman who vandalized a building that is under construction that has cost him a lot of money.
Meadow Carlson is the female version on the intelligence spectrum but she puts her money into helping the underdogs going against big business and billionaires. Their lives collide when she sabotages his investment in a building that she wants for a shelter. She is strong, resourceful, savvy passionate business woman. He knows he has met his match when she came into his life. Their story took me by surprise for so many reasons......one Wells isn't exactly what he is portrayed to be after all, two Meadow had her own set of secrets and heartbreak three this book in the series I cried more than any of the other ones. That was the biggest surprise by far usually the books are mostly sexy, funny with drama not tear jerkers.
I don't want to give away the story because you must read it because it fabulous. It has twist, turns, secrets revealed, heartbreaking loss, chemistry galore and past characters that will have you laughing.

I received an ARC from the authors for my honest review.

Wealthy Playboy by Alex Wolf and Sloane Howell is part of their Cocky Suits series. Each book is a stand-alone novel that can be read in any order. However, for the sake of character introduction, I recommend it is read in chronological order.
If you have read previous novels by these authors you have already met Wells Covington, he is a client of the Collins brothers with deep pockets, questionable morals and secrets he rather be kept in the dark. He always seems to be 5 steps ahead.
In this novel, you get to see a softer side of him. You'll learn that he isn't what it seems and he is always ahead because his mind never stops. He examines every possible turn that can take in his line of work.
Meadow Calson is an angel with a mind like a steel trap. She stops at nothing to get what she is after, even if that something costs more than a kidney, liver and possibly your first born. Her plans get derailed when the outcome doesn't quite match what she had planned.
This book is a slllloooowww burn. The tension between the characters is thicker than mud. The fact that both think alike makes their hijinks hilarious and enjoyable. What really did it for me was the ending. I was sucked in to the lives of these characters. I felt like I was part of the family enjoying the success. I highly recommend this novel.

I was totally captivated by this steamy, enemies to lovers romance! This is an emotional, and sizzling romance that took my breath away! Wells Covington is a cocky and extremely wealthy hedge fund manager. He loves flaunting his wealth and power to show dominance in the world of finance. Until he meets the one person who challenges him and just might be smarter than he is. Meadow isn't impressed by Wells Covington, or his wealth. She finds that money and power corrupts and Covington represents everything that she hates. She works hard to discredit his latest project, while working for social change, under the radar, not drawing attention to herself. Wells is impressed with her intellect, and confidence, and is drawn to this worthy opponent. They both find each other disarming and their magnetic pull is undeniable. They never show vulnerability but they find a strength in letting down their walls for each other. But they both have secrets that could destroy what they are building and break both their hearts. I loved their banter, and the cat and mouse games that they played, building their explosive chemistry. I loved both Wells and Meadow and especially loved them together. They are so alike in many ways, both being brilliant analysts, but they differ that Wells has a public persona that is so different than who he truly is and Meadow affects change very privately. They are both such vivid characters, and I was completely captivated by them. I loved catching up with past characters from this series along with their banter, and the honest feeling of friendship, love, loyalty and support between them. I especially enjoyed getting to know Orson, who completely captured my heart. This has been such a fun series and I really loved this latest seductive, emotional and scorching hot romance!

I have been eagerly waiting for Wells Covington’s book since we discovered there was more to him than meets the eye in the last book. Wealthy Playboy and Wells was worth the wait. Meadow was the perfect match for him.

When Meadow sabotages one of Wells’ building developments, he’s instantly fascinated by her. He’s never met a woman who can match him step for step and he vows to get to know her better. Along the way, we find out that Wells has a giving heart and will do anything for someone that he cares about. I loved how he only briefly doubted his feelings and was immediately all in for Meadow.

Meadow was extremely intelligent and independent woman who was deeply hurt in her past. Consequently, she found it difficult to trust anyone or to let them into her life. Every man in her life had let her down when she needed them most. I could feel her conflict about letting Wells into her life and the pain she was feeling due to current and past events.

Wells and Meadow were so similar and were perfectly matched. I loved them together. They steamed up the pages and broke my heart. Then they made me smile so big. Wells definitely brought his A game to win his girl.

Wealthy Playboy was an unexpectedly heartfelt and heartbreaking read. There were also surprising twists to the story that created added angst that I loved. Wells and Meadow are one of my favorite couples in this series and I can’t wait to see what this writing duo comes up with next.

ARC for an honest review
I’m sorry to say that Decker Collins got knocked off my top list and replaced by Wells Covington. I know I know, Decker, but the deeper we got with Covington, the more this sexy man just slipped in and stole my heart. I have no idea how he did it but he did.

Wells Covington, on the surface this man is an cocky and arrogant as them come when it comes to Wall Street but when you pull those layers back and find more about him, I just can’t form words that are worthy of this man. He wants to do good in the world and doesn’t want credit, wow, that just says so much more about the person inside than anything.

Meadow, tough, smart and beauty that matches the cream of the crop. Never knew what she was getting into when she meet Covington. Family means more than anything and that’s one thing that hold near and dear to me. I related to her more than anyone I ever read about and my heart broke for her with her mom and everything that happened after that.

A must read and the couple that I want to know more about. I want to see what the future holds for them and how family evolves with them.
