From REMINGTON KANE, the author of the TAKEN! SeriesMISSING - A TANNER Novel - Book 37 Tanner is determined to find a missing friend when the police fail to come up with any leads.
Remington Kane is an American author that writes action-packed thrillers. The author might be unfamiliar to some people because Remington Kane is actually a pseudonym for Donald Wells.
Donald Wells has garnered a reputation for writing darker and somewhat serious novels about killers. The author was born in New Jersey. He never really left and has since made a home there. Like most of his peers, Donald Wells was an avid reader as a child.
He spent many an hour devouring every book he came across. And it wasn’t long before he began to yearn for the chance to write. Like many aspiring authors, Donald Wells knew he had the capacity to tell stories. However, he was a little hesitant to venture into such uncharted waters, not only because he didn’t know where to start with regards to writing a book but also because he didn’t have confidence in his own ability to produce compelling fiction.
Again, like most notable authors, Donald meandered about for a while. Rather than going into publishing the first chance he got, Donald tried his hand at various odd jobs. He worked as an insurance salesman, a Real Estate Sales person, and even a Retail manager.
The jobs, though seemingly meaningless in the grand scheme of things, did wonders for the author’s writing capabilities. Whether he was driving trucks or cleaning floors, Donald gained insight into the workings of the world.
He met unexpected people and heard their intriguing stories. He came across numerous strange encounters and even participated in some of them. He essentially dipped into so many unique aspects of life that it came as no surprise that he had more than enough stories rattling around his head when it finally came time to write his first novel.
Not that many authors can claim to have been offered a chance to act as bodyguard to a drug dealer. Since getting his first book sold, though, Donald has finally settled in his career. The author loves writing novels and there is nothing he else he would rather be doing. The fact that he has found a way to make money out of his passion makes him one of the luckier individuals in the world.
By the time Donald Wells began writing as Remington Kane, he had already become established as a novelist with numerous thrillers under his name. However, writing as Remington practically took over his life.
This is because Donald has achieved more success writing as Remington Kane than he did producing novels under his real name. Kane is best known for the Tanner series of novels. Tanner is a hit man who accepts a job to take out a mob boss.
When he is betrayed and thrown into prison, Tanner thinks of little else besides getting revenge. And once he finally gets his freedom, the hit man becomes a one man army, engaging in a brutal way against a crime organization known as the Conglomerate.
Each new book sees Tanner raising the stakes by finding a new target that will sting the Conglomerate in ways they couldn’t possibly fathom.
Remington Kane has been praised for the Tanner novels because Tanner is such a refreshing hero. The protagonist is so average physically, devoid of the exaggerated traits that most action heroes seem to bear. If not for his natural fighting and survival instincts, one would be hard pressed to tell Tanner apart from any other ordinary man on the street.
After having consumed everything "Kane" has written I'm left to wait not so patiently for his next offering. Even though the Tanner series is my favorite I'll take pretty much Anything this guy produces. I've been an avid reader for over 60 years and no other author has left me pulling out my own hair while awaiting the next book. It's entirely crazy. He just totally pushes all of my buttons - well, Tanner's actually the one messing with those buttons! I'm Hooked.
I really enjoyed this book. It was more complex than the usual Tanner story with, it seemed, a lower body count. Tanner has not taken a big contract here, he is trying to help a friend. And he does. This felt like a little different than the rest of the series. It was more character driven than action driven. I am not complaining, only commenting. There was still plenty of action naturally. Recommended.
Good Thriller that has Tanner going to the help of a friend whose wife has been kidnapped while out with her husband at the cinema. Police have no suspects or evidence as to how the kidnapping was carried out. Tanner initially baffled discovers how the kidnapping was arranged and with the help of the husband, a technology specialist homes in on the location of the culprit but not before discovering the bodies of three previous kidnapped women. Not the usual Tanner trail of death and destruction but a test of perseverance intelligence to reach a successful conclusion.
Tanner deserves 5 stars. The author is kind enough to give us something to look forward to during this really weird pandemic. Each month there is an escape as Tanner battles foes either helping friends from the past or ignorant enemies in the future. Thank you Remington Kane for the needed escape you write each month.
This is the latest in the Tanner series and as always it went by to fast. I have read and recommend the series to others. Although I do not review each book, I wanted to let you know that Remington Kane has created an outstanding series. However, do NOT overlook his other series they are equally enjoyable.
This adventure finds us visiting with old friends and its not a happy reunion. Tanner is called to help a friend in trouble and stumbles.onto something more sinister. The writer brings us along in the story through a crafted maze of a whodunit. This was not only a good mystery but it was somewhat of a nail bitter, but a race against the clock.
Wow, this is a great book! Tim the hacker and his wife Madison are in the picture serial killer on the loose. Madison disappears and Tim calls Tanner for help these two team up and do an excellent job reading the book you find yourself just on pins and needles as things are happening.
Remington Kane delivers again, as always. Great story. a very easy to read book that I couldn't put down. the only problem is that it ends. I can't wait for the next book.
I know that I have written it several times and will continue to do so. YOU HAVE TO READ MR. KANE. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. The Tanner series would make a great TV series. Thank you again Mr Kane for another enjoyable read.
I can’t get enough of Remington Kane’s Tanner series. I’ve read most of them 2 or 3 times. Missing was another in the long line of great reads. I look forward to the next one, in the meantime I may have to read one of his previous Tanners again!
Love these Tanner books so wonderfully written you get so engrossed it feels like you are part of the story, then it is over and you are ready for the next one . I have been a fan since the beginning. Thank you to Remington Kane and his alternate persona.
As soon as available I’m on it. Read it in a few hour, the wait for the next one. Really enjoy the characters, storyline, relationships and action. Keep ‘em coming.
As always my favorite author has outdone himself. It amazes me that he is able to grab my interest from the first page to the last. Amazing author. Still waiting for the White series to continue though. It's been to long.
Started reading the Tanner series about a month ago. Got me hooked and I just finished the last one. Nothing less than 4 stars in any of them. This one is a 5 along with many others. Look forward to #38!!!
Typical Tanner story without a lot of explanation or expansion of the tale as it progressed. I don't want a lot of verbiage for words 's sake but this one could have used a little more fluff.
Another one bites the dust, & another one down & another one down… Coming for Tanner's friends guarantees Tanner's coming for you— & Tanner wins again!!
Another adventure with a ruthless assassin who this time is trying to find the kidnapped wife of a friend. For a non super hero type crime fighter, try false assurances and threat bias.
I have read all the Tanner books with 90% approval, having lived in NY and seeing the results of the Mob, I wasn’t a big fan. The books were well written though. Cudos to your editors and beta readers, no editing errors. Great story but to fully appreciate it you need to start at number one.
