Dahil baka sakalii... baka sakali...
Jonahmae Pacala (publishing as Jonaxx) was never fond of reading longnovels during her elementary years but found a deep connection with sshort sad stories. She discovered her flair for writing at the early age of ten. What was once a hobby has now grown into a passion for writing online.
Jacob is TOXIC. character development my ass what made this books so worth reading is the fucking drama that surrounds it. Jacob was fine of the first book but all went downhill after that.
The way his possessiveness was executed is so troubling that when you look at the comment section; readers were romanticizing it like hun, no its not hot its not him being protective its him controlling your body that should be dictated by you and you alone.
i first read this book way back in junior high school. i remember binge-reading and falling in love with jonaxx’s stories.
I’m not a fan of this book as I am before though.
There are things i found annoying. First, is how the characters are written. The story started when they were still in high school, so their immaturity is understandable. Rosie is a whiny and ignorant seventeen year old girl. As the story progresses, she grows but remains to have the mentality of a cat. Jacob WAS okay, but his attitude became worse gradually on. I assumed he would at least have some character development but his attitude turned to the complete opposite.
He is such a d!ck for being so mad at Rosie for lying about her virginity (which isn’t actually a lie). His excuses for playing/flirting with girls are lame and pathetic. It’s almost like he’s blaming Rosie or just using her as an excuse to flirt with some random girls. He kissed and touched her, even without consent. She clearly says no and he still does whatever the hell he wants. Even if Rosie ACTUALLY wanted him to kiss her, it’s still disgusting how he doesn’t even try to ask for consent. Then, Rosie expressed she wasn’t ready to be pregnant and stuff but Jacob was too arrogant about it. They were also minors when they first had sex, and i knowww... it’s not the first time i’ve read minors having sex on books but this says a lot about the teenage pregnancy situation in the Philippines.
Second, I really really hate how Jonaxx brings up the r-word unnecessarily EVERY DAMN TIME. Rape joke isn’t fucking funny. This is the main reason why people in the Philippines don’t take sexual harassment seriously. Also, to add the fact that Jacob keeps persuading Rosie to not wear “vulgar” clothes so she wouldn’t be sexually harassed is a shitty mindset and it constantly ticks me off.
Third, the INTERNALIZED MISOGYNY. Girls was constantly slut-shamed and hated for absurd reasons. Rosie has explained how she hated other girls so much for being close with Jacob and even called them sluts.
Lastly, the story was so fast-phased and there are so many plot holes. The use of “LOL” over and over halfway through the story made me cringe.
younger me would’ve rated this book a 5/5, but as a young adult? Nah. Anyway, it was a cringeworthy book but probably won’t read it again.

As expected with Pinoy stories, maraming mga typos. I'm not sure kung author ang may problema or yung publisher.
I mean, meron ba talagang ganun in this day and age? Mas matatanggap ko siguro if there's some kind of explanation as to why ganun sya pero wala e.
Medyo nag enjoy ako sa book 3 kasi kahit papano naging real-world scenario yung naging issue nila.
IT IS SO BAD I WANT TO GIVE YOU A ZERO, BUT THATS NOT POSSIBLE SO I GIVE YOU A ONE.
Although I enjoyed this book before, reading it again makes me regret the decisions I've made in life. The story is so terrible and I won't even begin to discuss how trashy Jacob is, I can't even finish it.
In terms of the plot, sobrang sakit niya huhu. Book 1 is 4/5 and the rest? 3/5.
Today is the end of book 3 and end of Jacob And Rosie In this book.

High School Days. At some point in my relationship, my partner and I faced challenges similar to Jacob and Rosie. While I'm glad we're still together, I ponder if meeting later, when we're both successful, would have made a difference in giving each other the love we truly deserve.
