How did an enemy of the Grekk Empire rise to become its top Envoy?

Celeste is the Grekk Empire's top Envoy, but she harbors a secret.

The Enigma War destroyed humanity. Now, an uneasy peace rules the galaxy headed by the Imperium Alliance with the Grekk Empire working behind the shadows to increase its influence.

On a routine first round of negotiations with the Zandrax, a new species, at the fringe of the galaxy, something is amiss. A storm is emerging with the Zandrax bent on challenging the galaxy's order.

In the midst of this crisis, Celeste encounters a mysterious being, who will challenge everything she knows about herself.

Will Celeste be able to hold onto her secret? Can the Zandrax incursion be neutralized? And, will the peace survive this incursion?

This was a Voracious Readers copy. While the concept was interesting, I found that I had too many questions. The idea is that humans were all killed off by the Grekk Empire but some were smuggled off planet and disguised by the means of holographic skin to be other races. Those races had to be very humanoid or at least have human proportions as it is unlikely that mere skin could change ones general characteristics. Size of head to body for instance, or upright stance with arms and legs as opposed to a crouching stance with longer arms. I found that a little difficult to believe. However, it would appear there are other humans somewhere in the Universe and our characters are setting out to find them - leading to a series. There were some interesting parallels with the Pax Romana of the Roman Empire. The Grekks also had the concept of peace which they were able to enforce as they had superior weaponry. However like the Roman peace, it was challenged when other people gained the same weapons. If one suspends belief, it's a fun read.

Humanity has been destroyed, the last human woman somehow infiltrates the enemy alien 'species' as an high-ranking negotiator, this story is too 'f'in unbelievable to continue reading. lots of action with many (too many) questions about why and how and most of all why! Obtained for free from Amazon on February 12, 2023. DNF

A good idea

This book has a very good concept but is so poorly written it is virtually unreadable! Awkward writing and poor grammar characterize the book! Such bon mots as "I and Celeste," " ...the big doors were closed shut," and others abound throughout the book! The plot is a good idea but it is,so poorly written I gave it one star.

Not Accurate

There are too many bad things say about this book. Humans were destroyed in the enigma war, but humans were only on earth. So why did the good guys commit genocide on the humans? Many, many other bad plot points.

Interesting concept

This was interesting. Different concepts. Like the writing and the characters. There some plot holes but they didn't overshadow the plot twists. I enjoyed this story.

plenty of excitement

In disguise, surviving as the last human, the young lady has skill as a negotiator. The trials and tribulations are a tough test, providing a delightful story.
