Every person who is involved in ministry, and really every Christian, faces difficulties throughout their career. Sometime those are self-imposed and at other times the come about because of outside forces. It, therefore, is imperative for each to delineate those non-negotiables. These are the “hills worth dying on” – the place where an unwavering stand is taken.
This book is the collective wisdom of ten ministers who have been in the trenches and who have seen the battle from a personal perspective as well as a professional one. They have highlighted the issues upon which anyone in ministry needs to establish a strong “NO” before being confronted with the issue. Each article helps the reader prepare to take a stand against the inevitable assaults which they will face. As the saying goes, “being for warned is being for armed”. This book will help anyone serving in a church setting be prepared.
Since there are ten authors, it stands to reason that there is unevenness to the writing. Each presents an aspect of the material from their perspective and in so doing adds a new focus and an abundance of credibility.
The book has some problems with formatting as well as a few grammatical and proofing errors, but they do not detract from the message which the book is trying to get across.
It is imperative that anyone who is in Christian ministry, and that should be anyone who claims to be a follower of Christ, read and apply the principles found in these pages. It is a quick read, but one which will bear reading time and again as you reaffirm your stand against those moral, ethical, and personal issues which beset all of us.
