Come celebrate the holidays with these dozen unique romances, ranging from sweet to steamy and all ending with a happily-ever-after. This anthology of short stories, written by multi-award-winning authors, including New York Times best-selling author, Alyssa Day, will transport you from Labor Day and Halloween antics to Christmas and Valentine romantics. Its stories will whisk you away into contemporary, historical, and paranormal worlds where love prevails. So, savor the authors featured in this enchanting book and bet your heart on some romantic cheer while you enjoy these twelve ways to fall in love.
The dozen stories in this anthology were entertaining and well-written. Valentine's Day in Atlantis by Alyssa Day featured a human widow and a warrior of Atlantis and was fun, fast-paced, heart warming and romantic. A Pug Thanksgiving by Leah Miles included a woman, her pug and a man, and was sweet and humorous. A Friendsgiving Riot by Karen Renee was sweet and heartwarming, and Faking It for the Holidays by Lia Davis was charming and humorous. The anthology had werewolves, witches, ghosts, Fae, elves and more. I enjoyed this anthology and would recommend it to others.
These are a fun collection of different holiday romances that span different genres. Each with unique characters, fun plots and of course, great romance. I loved Lia Davis' contemporary romance about 2 best friends but got lost in so many other stories. I also loved that they were short stories so I could fit in a 'whole' story whenever I had a chance. If you need to spice up your reading, this anthology is a great way to discover some great new authors while maybe taking a taste of stepping outside your usual genre. Good fun!
Romancing the Holidays: A First Coast Writers Holiday Anthology contains twelve stories, each written by a different author. The tales feature various holidays and include contemporary, historical, paranormal, and romantic suspense stories. Some of these shorts are very short while others are a few chapters long. From ghosts to witches to modern men and women to Santa's elves, these characters will delight readers and put them into the spirit of the holidays all year through.
Wonderful fund raising project for First Coast Romance Writers of America with a portion of the proceeds going to FeedAmerica.org. It was a privilege to work with such a talented group of writers. Something for everyone with twelve authors, three genre (contemporary - paranormal - historical) and multiple holidays.
A Valentine's Day in Atlantis by Alyssa Day is a great short addition to the Atlantis series. A Pug Thanksgiving was a cute story by Leah Miles. Sara Walker's The Luckiest Hat was another good short story. I enjoyed all them. I wish some would have been a little longer.
Really loved this collection of emotionally thrilling holiday romances filled with witty and engaging charters, heart racing twists and undeniable passion. A great reading adventure from beginning to end, with each journey being so entertaining and fun.
This anthology has a little of everything. Some non-winter holidays, some winter ones, some contemporary, and some paranormal. I knew I’d love visiting Karen Renee’s Riot MC compound for some Friendsgiving confusion and love (because really, who wouldn’t identify with Suzy and her “I’m sure it’s unrequited” love?), but I also really enjoyed Melody Johnson’s Halloween short and the proof that men are sometimes just too obtuse for words until something smacks them in the face! Leah Miles brought the dog into the mix to help Echo and Janny along in their attraction, while Lia Davis helped bear friends finally realize that they both wanted so much more for Christmas.
If you’re sick of summer and the sun’s heat, this book has the perfect feel-good vibes for holidays to come (I desperately need fall and winter, so I focused on those). It’ll also maybe give you some new authors to delve into to add to TBR lists and avoid book slumps.
I loved each and every one of these stories. All were romantic and well-written. And I enjoyed the fact that they covered a variety of holidays all in one package. Great characters, romance and interesting plots make this a bundle of stories you won't want to miss.
I enjoy anthologies for meeting new-to-me authors, and to catch up with authors I already know and love. There were several stories I really enjoyed including Lia Davis' Faking it For the Holidays, and Alyssa Day's Valentine's Day in Atlantis. Give this anthology a try....I don't think you'll be disappointed.
I received a copy of this via BookFunnel. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias or favor.
This is the first time i have read anything from Alyssa Day. What drew me to this anthology was one of the authors Lia Davis. I have read and enjoyed many of her books which all have romance or steamy scenes wrapped around a passionate love story. So I was very interested to see if Alyssa Day had managed to find a collection of stories from authors I have never read before. I was very happy and really enjoyed the stories, some short, some a bit longer but each offered me an insight into the creativity and imagination of these authors. Alyssa Day certainly took the hard work out for me and broadened my reading lists to include new books I’m looking forward to exploring. So thank you Alyssa Day your dedication and time in compiling a very rewarding anthology
This was an amazing collection of stories from authors I knew and some I did not. I enjoyed all those stories and liked meeting all the new authors. I cannot wait to see if these authors do this again.
My favorite thing about anthologies is discovering new authors. This collection of short stories all revolve around one of the holidays. There is something in here for everyone. I have to say I enjoyed reading all of them. It was a great way to spend an afternoon.
I received an ARC of this book and voluntarily reviewed it.
There is just something about anthologies that hit the spot. Whether it's discovering a "new to me" author, or reading a familiar favourite, the sets bring together a series of stories with flair. This holiday themed one is no exception. Two of the ones I believe are exceptional are from Alyssa Day and Lia Davis. Alyssa Day's "Valentine's Day in Atlantis" features a warrior who has no idea that the holiday is about love and the forging of hearts. His erroneous blunder with the harts makes for LOL hilarity. Lia Davis's "Faking it for the Holidays" just goes to show that romance can be had found between the best of friends. Short and sweet stories that will hit the spot.
This is the first holiday one read this year in a time though when the world is chaos. This was a much needed relief from it all with a taste of variety from many authors. To be quite honest only a couple of these authors were familiar at first to me but by the time I was finished with this I had some new discoveries. What I liked it is what it says they are HEA so needed now. They also were not all about Christmas which is another reason I liked it as I am not so much a Christmas fan book reader. I like variety and this does have it. Lia though she does do Christmas so beary special. Treat yourself to something special which you soon will not leave once you have entered in with so many to wrap around your heart.
I absolutely loved this anthology it had a little bit of everything. What I liked the most about reading a set like this is I get introduce to new authors work which is always a bonus. Overall a enjoyable and entertaining set As always my review are voluntarily no monetary compensation was received and the opinions I have expressed are my own.
A collection of fun, interesting and different stories with each taking place on a holiday. My favorite was The Luckiest Hat by Sara Walker but all were good and showcase the writing skills of this group. Looking for a new favorite author? Try this collection and you might just find her.
This a feel good collection of romantic short stories set in the holiday season, from “Valentine’s Day in Atlantis” , to Elves in a forbidden romance in Santa’s workshops... from the paranormal , to historic, and contemporary romances.. I enjoyed them all. One even mentioned the current Covid-19 shutdowns. They reminded me of the Hallmark Channel stories in a good way. These stories were short and sweet, and for the 1st reading an anthology with so many authors.... all were enjoyable to read!
This collection includes the usual ingredients of holiday anthologies : a few stories I really enjoyed, another few that were more teasers than standalone stories, a few that were OK, others that were just blah. The ones I enjoyed enough to recommend were Alyssa Day's story and the Santa's Elves story. Ymmv
There were several cute short stories but some of them were so short that I felt lost at the end. I did pick up a few new authors, so that was a great part.
I loved Valentine's Day in Atlantis! It was so funny. There were several other small stories I liked as well. A few of the ghost ones I thought were really good. I thought they were all pretty good actually.
