I tried to kill him, but Emilio Rinaldi didn't reach for his gun. He just took off his belt.
Any other mob boss would've put a bullet in me. Emilio spanked my bare bottom and tied me to the bed instead. He says I've been a naughty little girl and now I'm going to be treated like one, but he doesn't just bathe me, dress me, and punish me in the most shameful ways imaginable.
He makes me call him daddy.
But he isn't a gentle daddy, and I'm sent to bed every night well-used, sore, and soaking wet, knowing he will be even rougher with me tomorrow. That's what it means to be daddy's captive.
Publisher's Note: Daddy's Captive includes spankings, rough sex scenes, intense and humiliating punishments, and elements of age play. If such material offends you, please don't buy this book.
First, I want to say that I understand that these are fantasies. I understand that certain generic tropes are de rigueur. I understand that "dark" means non-consent. I understand that they're written very quickly, in prose absent any stylistic complexity, and to conform to a certain length that is relatively brief.
Even given all of the above, however, and even freely admitting that I'm cranky due perhaps to the times we're living in, I find myself losing patience with five pet peeves aspects of far too many of these books that require too much cognitive dissonance.
They Are:
1) “He would never beat you. I know from witnessing a few of them that his spankings aren’t for the faint of heart, but he would never harm you.” Ah, yes, the most common refrain in all these books. "He would never..." as he employs hand, paddle, hairbrush, and cane to welt and bruise her. "He would never..." as he makes her swallow soap for several minutes. "He would never..." as he rams a butt plug into the hole of an anal virgin. "He would never..." as he emotionally and mentally humiliates her by making her wear clothes she hates and go to the bathroom in front of him, and by parading her in front of people she doesn't know. I guess he deserves faint praise for the fact that she doesn't throw up (from the soap), develop an infection (from the welts), or get any internal bleeding (from the butt plug). But all this is due to the magic of fiction rather than any real plausibility. Note to authors: If you want to write this, fine, but stop dressing it up as "he would never..." because, actually, he would and he does. This is a little something known as hypocrisy -- and when someone is hit without their consent, it is a beating, no matter how you spin it. And any of the above does actually "harm."
2) "But I would advise you to not lie to me when I ask my next question. Is there something about last night you haven’t told me?” So, in these books the man can lie with impunity or keep things from their h's that they deserve to know, but if the h does something similar, she's punished. Here, Emilio does not initially tell Amara something very important about someone close to her. But what happens to him? Nada. This is known as a little something called the double-standard.
3) “On your knees, Amara. I’ve warned you about your language before.” So, wow, how awful that she used bad language towards him! Absolutely, she needs to be punished! Because, you know, bad language is the absolute worse thing you can do in the 21st century United States. It's so bad, that you should absolutely ignore -- after mouthing a few measly platitudes in her direction -- that she's just told you that she'd been nearly raped when she was seventeen. The fact that her nerves are on edge when dredging up this traumatic memory doesn't matter. This is a little something known as caring more for the lifestyle than you do for your h or values dissonance. I'll add that he does the same thing twice more after he -- 'cause, you know, both of these are less important than the fact that she must be punished at all costs.
4) "She knew she needed to play along." Trust is earned, not forced, but Emilio does not do one single thing to earn Amara's trust; rather, she does what he says because otherwise he'll beat or humiliate her more. He demands she calls him "daddy," that she color, that she dress in little clothing, etc. Again, that she ends up liking it is only due to the magic of fiction.
5) "Did you go outside with the intention of trying to escape?” This is one of the most common tropes in this genre and goes something like this: "How dare you try to escape me when I'm holding you against your will and doing things to you that you haven't agreed to? I mean, I know that what I'm doing to you is illegal and immoral, but whatevs." This is a little thing called hypocrisy.
There are only two things that mitigate the above: the fact that Amara originally tried to kill him and the fact that she seems to have some .
If none of the above is a turn off for you, then please read the many four- and five-star ARC reviews it will undoubtedly get. Because this book is pretty much one continuous punishment scene, if this is your fantasy, then it will certainly feed it. For me, I'm going to go find a book that doesn't dress up non-consensual rape and beatings and humiliation as something that the h "deserves" or "is good for her" or "see it works out because she secretly likes it." I'd have a lot more respect for authors if they just wrote "dark" without excusing or normalizing it.
1 star. I would have given it two because of the mitigating circumstances if it weren't for #3, which is my peevest among all pet peeves.
I know this is a losing battle, but this isn't BDSM. There's no consent; ergo, there's no BDSM.
I like the contrast between her life as Emilios little girl and the head of her family. But it is fucking weird.
I get the ideals behind the whole daddy play, it’s very similar to bdsm just without the consent and that’s where my problems lay. Obviously Amara fucked up and she deserved retribution but it quickly evolved into kidnapping.
I hated that she’s obviously able to take care of herself and then treated like a child by everyone and she didn’t ask for it.
I suppose in the end she was on board and the road to get there was steamy which is why I gave it 4 stars.
first off: this book definitely has some dark elements and a bit of dub/con, so be aware of that before diving in.
But wow… Emilio and Amara’s story pulled me in hard. Both from rival Mafia families, both dangerous in their own ways and from the very beginning, their collision was explosive.
Amara has been raised and trained by her so-called “loving” uncle to be an assassin, and when her mission is to take out Emilio, things don’t go as planned. He catches her mid-attempt and instead of ending her… he decides to claim her. And oh boy, once Emilio decides something, there’s no going back.
I loved Amara so much ,she’s fiery, stubborn and never afraid to push back, even though every time she mouths off, her Daddy Dom of a Mafia boss makes sure she feels the consequences. Their relationship slides slowly (but so naturally) into a Daddy/little girl dynamic and honestly it worked so well with the push and pull between them. Emilio was stern, controlling, protective and hot as hell, the perfect mix of danger and dominance.
The steam was amazing!! Rough, filthy and full of age play tension that completely delivered. But it wasn’t just smut , there was action, danger, betrayal and a twist with her uncle that really amped things up. I couldn’t stop flipping pages.

I very much enjoyed this one by Ms. Moore. A young woman (Amara/h) adopted by a Mafia Boss & trained to be an assassin. Emilio (anti-H) a Mafia Boss of a rival Mafia family. And now, Amara's target is Emilio. If not for the love she has for her adopted father she'd not attempt to assasinate a man she's been intrigued by for years. This one has sizzling steam, age play, a stern disciplinarian Daddy Dom Mafia boss, a 'Little Girl' who doesn't realize just how much she needs & wants her strict new 'Daddy', tension, danger & a whopper of a shock. All together this one held my interest from the first page to the last. I didn't want to skip or skim anything & I found it to be a well written story with characters I was invested in & a plot that intrigued me. Excellent & I look forward to more by this author.
First of all, this book may have triggers for some because there is some dub/con in it. That being said, I really enjoyed reading Emilo and Amara's story. Both from different Mafia families. Amara has been asked to do what no girl should have to do. When her target, Emilo, stops her from injecting something in his neck, he decides that she is his. I thought Amara was a feisty woman with a backbone. She had no problem standing up to Emilo but when she did, oh she paid for it. Or at least her butt did. The connection between them takes a bit to settle down into a Daddy/little girl relationship but once again, that is tested when they find out bad news about her so called "loving" uncle. She takes it upon herself to try and take care of the problem but that doesn't work out so well. Will Emilo get to the one woman who is everything to him? I would love to see more in this world!!
The book started out real good. The mafia bit was good cuz well who dosent love a strong female?
But after that......things went downhill. The dd/lg concept was bad to say the least. Don't get me wrong I don't mind a good daddy kink book but this was just badly written. The guy didnt seem like a daddy more like a dom maybe....?
I get the dominant/daddy side of Emilio him being a mafia leader has the alpha appeal but what disturbed me the most was the portrayal of the female lead. She is presented as a strong woman and an efficient killer. She also harbors an attraction for the guy. She gets caught trying to kill him. Then BAM she is forced to call Emilio daddy and the whole thing just goes from bad to worse. It dosen't even seem like she is interested in that lifestyle. The little bit of dd/lg play that I read was not even good.
Basically imagine a book where a guy catches a girl trying to kill him and said guy just assumes she is a little and procedes forces her to call him daddy as punishment. Like WTF? This was my deal breaker and I couldn't read past that. It was like dnf at 20%
This is MY opinion which I'm not forcing you to read.
Very much enjoyed this one, unable to put it down, however, I will say that I am not sure with the categorisation of it as a dark romance...definitely on the lighter side of a dark romance which is not a bad thing.
Insta love but with a basis for that insta love.
Full RTC but for now 5 stars, a great little intro back into reading after a bit of a slump
Amara is ordered to kill Emilio, a mob boss. Instead she is taken by him and treated like a naughty little girl. Fast-paced read with loads of drama, suspense and steam. Great characters with intense chemistry and an entertaining story with lots of twists and turns. I liked it.
Quick Summary When Amara is given the orders to take out Emilio Rinaldi, she's torn between following her Uncle Gio's orders and taking out an honorable (as a mafia guy can be) man like Emilio. It also doesn't help that she's had a teenage crush on him and deep down, Amara knows that taking him out is just wrong. She's been acting as assassin for the family since she was 17 but she's always been able to assuage her guilt by telling herself she was helping by taking out the scum that needed it. But with Emilio, there's no logical reason why her Uncle would want to take an ally and a powerful one at that, out for a simple "favor".
When her assassination attempt gets thwarted, Amara finds herself at Emilio's mercy and he has more surprises up his sleeve that she ever imagined possible! Before she can say "Daddy" she's kidnapped, restrained and disciplined all while fighting her crazy attraction to a man that holds her life in the palm of his hand.
~ My Thoughts ~ Amara and Emilio start off with a bang! Their story is fast paced, a touch insta-love for both MCs and there is plenty of steamy bits before, during and after their unconventional relationship forms.
I like a little more romance and a longer "getting to know each other" period before the HEA but I still really enjoyed this one. It felt a little too fast how Amara takes to being a Little and becoming an active and enthusiastic partner in Emilio's age play kink without ever having known or explored the kink world but you have to suspend belief while reading sometimes.
I was left wondering if Benny will get his own story and I'm happy that he does in Daddy's Little Spy He seems a touch more gentle than Emilio but I guess I'll have to read that one to find out how he handles his own Little!
I would have loved if this one was a tad longer just to give both Emilio and Amara a chance to really get to know each other before the ILY and HEA happened but that's just me. Overall a good read with intimate, sweet and sometimes intense disciplinary scenes that highlight the MCs great chemistry and emotional connection.
Heat Level: 4/5 🔥 This was a Kindle/Amazon purchase. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Extra (Spoiler-y) Info :
This was A Fun, fast-Paced, Sexy Read with a Splash of Suspense & Murders..AND A big Twist! I Completed it in 3hrs.
#My 1st by Stella! I'm sure to check out more of her books❤. ARC Received for a honest Review. Ok, so I was worried about the story after Reading a Bad review..But I enjoyed the story, Gladly.
Amara & Emilio are both of Rival Mafia Families, But respect eachother. Through the years, There's also Adoration & Attraction.. Mutual Crushes.
For the last Decade, Amara has been an assassin at her Uncle Gio's Beck & Call. Killing all who deserved it..
But Now Dear Uncle (I hate him!) Has told her to kill Emilio For 'A favor'. She didn't wanted to do it as Emilio is a good guy underneath his strict exterior, But what choice does she have?
Let's just say, the Kill attempt didn't go as planned and She wounded up as his prisoner. Omg.
Emilio knew she was lying about The reason she was here, so there were many Spankings, Dirty Words, Punishments, A Soap (omg, shit..), Age play (My 1st book about this, It's not my forte..Though it was certainly Amusing) AND Sexy times!
Through this all, their feelings just Grow.. He know he wants her Forever (Yes, we're talking about Love, Marriage & family!)
That is actually a good thing. Not only because The two's feelings are mutual, But also It'll protect her. The Hell That's gonna break Loose from A past Deceive.
Secrets Reveal..Her whole life's been a lie, Her only Support Now is Emilio❤. Her stunt to gain Closure, hours before the marriage, was Deadly. I'm glad Emilio Saved her in time! (The later Spankings on her was deserved!)
Emilio+Amara were Fun! I really liked this story❤. I'm happy the bad guy got the bad end AND Our Love birds got their HEA! I loved seeing both Sweet+ Adoring & Alpha Daddy side of Emilio. Amara is a strong and brave woman.
The book has no plot, she supposed to be a super Killer, and he didn’t even have to break her!!!!!!! She doesn’t even fight him he’s like she’s this week little person instead of being the strong woman that she supposed to be.... I was disappointed
One word.............or maybe three What the hell?!?!?!!?! The female mc did a complete 360°. The male mc is a psychotic idiot. Spanking the poor woman for even small reasons. One of the shitiest book I've ever read. A serious waste of time.
Delightfully Dark Daddy! Everything a Mafia Daddy Should Be!
Being in the Mafia is serious business. You can't go around trying to kill other Mafia 'heads of Family'. Well you CAN, but sometimes you fail... this IS the Head of Mafia after all. - And when you do try and fail, punishment of the severest kind is inevitable. That is how it all started between Amara Vitali and Emilio Rinaldi. Yeah... she tried stabbing him in the neck with a needle full of DEATH. She missed. It was a good thing though... Emilio had been in love with her for a very long time, so instead of killing her, he kept her. Apparently that's a THING in a Mafia household. Since Emilio had certain... proclivities... he introduced the fierce Ice Princess, Amara to being his little girl. Complete with a pink frothy ruffled room she HATES. And pink ruffled dresses she despises... well, kind of, she actually just hates the pink part. Amara was made for this lifestyle and made for Emilio. Emilio has found his forever Little girl who challenges him as much as she makes his heart soar with Love and Laughter.
It took me a while to finish this fairly short book. I couldn’t stop cringing. I love reading daddy kink books, but this one just didn’t do it for me. I wanted to drop it so many times, but I powered through and finally finished it. I expected more and was extremely disappointed. There was zero chemistry between the main pairing. Give it a try if you must, my tastes won’t be the same as everyone else’s, I’m aware, but personally I wouldn’t recommend this book.
It’s a good, well written book. Personally books that have this type of play that is originally forced upon a person with no talk of limits or pain tolerance or if the person is comfortable having another person be allowed to dish out punishment, public punishments, etc, aren’t really my thing. However, it not being my thing didn’t make it a bad book. The author wrote it well. It’s just not something I would be okay with.
Daddy kinks are hot but insta love by an assassin and quick full acceptance of her new predicament was just not enough tension for me. Also most of the child okay interactions were not my brand of daddy kink.
I enjoyed Emilio & Amera's book. Good characters. It was an intriguing, sexy read. I received a free copy of the book. And am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
Dramatic role with mafia executioner being a female unaware she’s being used Amara had been working as her Uncle Gio’s hit woman for over ten years, she had just turned seventeen and she had felt obliged to help him after he had raised her when both her parents had died in a car accident. She had been upping her game as she had been sent to kill men that were trading in the sale of children and young females and she believed that although Gio was no angel, he sold drugs but had never traded in human flesh, he told her he was disgusted in trade of underage boys and girls and would eradicate anyone guilty of this filthy trade. Then she had been sent to deal with Emilio Rinaldi, Gio had explained he had to clear a debt that he owed, Amara thought this highly suspicious but trust in her surrogate Uncle had sent her to carry out her assignation, only in the back of her mind she had doubts, somethings not adding up. Emilio had been attracted to Amara but the ten year age difference had encouraged him to steer clear however, when temptation is put before a man he can only withstand so much and he is determined to discover what she was doing in his home, what was the syringe she tried to stab into his neck, he would discover all and her bottom would pay the price. Discover that Amara has been in love with this man for nearly a decade and he had similar feelings, now he knew her life was in danger and that Gio would be clearing out any old rubbish and opposition to his new businesses. Amara also discovers that Gio had not cared from her for any reason other than he had wanted her family seat and that there was more behind her parents deaths that initially believed. I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
Trope: Mafia DdLg Romance (Dominant Daddy, Little Girl Kink) Spice level: Spicy! Romance: Medium Plot: High World building: Low Special notes: Plot Twist, Age Gap (27f/37m), Murder mystery Triggers: Orphaned, Drugged, Kidnapped, Noncon, Figging, Anal, Voyeurism, Age play, Humilation, Caning/Spanking/Paddling
I really enjoyed this book. You have to be into ddlg though. It has a very heavy focus on age play (Playroom, Clothes, Feeding, Punishment). Thankfully no diaper play (Which is where my line is). The plot in this book is very good, I enjoyed the twists and turns.
There is also a psychological aspect to the entirety of the plot that was very well done. (Here you have this girl who never got a childhood, and was encouraged to murder countless men. The guilt alone from murdering, would have ultimately ruined her mentally. And now she is in a relationship that allows someone else to take control, while she gets to be a child and also lets her get punishment when she feels guilty. Overall, probably helpful for her.)
Only things I would have improved on in this book, is the world building and also I still don't know how I feel about the 'Benny' character in the book.
Amara was adopted and raised by her "Uncle" Gio, a close friend and confidant of her father's. He had taken overhead of the mob family after her parents were killed by a drunk driver when she was a child. As she grew up, Uncle Gio would give her assignments to silently assassinate people who offended his and society's moral code, which she did out of loyalty to the family. Then came the day when he asked her to kill Emilio Rinaldi because he owed someone a LARGE favor that he couldn't get out of. This hurt Amara's heart because she had had a huge crush on the man, who was the head of another mob family until Emilio had told her she was making a fool of herself at her twenty-first birthday party. So from then until now, she had avoided being around him. She knew Emilio was an honorable man and wouldn't deserve such a death but family was family so she really had no choice. But what she discovers will change her entire world. This is the first book by Stella Moore I've read and it certainly captivated me from the very beginning and didn't let go. The characters, including the side characters, we so relatable in their actions, reactions, and emotions I felt like I knew them personally. This is a terrific read and another author to be added to my one-click list.
3.5⭐ Emilio Rinaldi et Amara Vitali Pakhan Daddy et girl
Benito Rinaldi (cousin de Emilio, bras droit) Titre : Daddy's Little Spy _____________
Belle plume. Bien ecrit
**First Time Reader** This was a very interesting Daddy/Dom story. I give kudos to the author of showing how with the right "daddy" you can bring a mob assassin to heel. It helps that both Emilio and Amara have in an intense attraction to one another. Amara the ice princess with the bratty attitude was no match for the handsome and domineering mob boss. Emilio did not let up on the punishments but he wasn't evil or mean dishing them out....he cared and cherish his little girl. All he wanted was Amara's trust and love....well he eventually got it...All the secrets and intrigue that lead them together was revealed toward the end. Amara through all that awful mess showed that she was a strong woman who took care of business while still showing that she can be a little girl to her daddy. Emilio got his little girl to take care of and a true partner in his criminal empire. What a match...good read!

Daddy's Captive is a dark mafia romance with a strong Daddy Dom story line. There is anal sex, spanking, and other strong punishments. There's a decent about of violence and some swearing. The sex is very detailed.
The book is very well written. Emilio and Amara are very interesting characters. They both have a duality of their characters between their public personas and their private persona. One thing I liked was that Amara and Emilio have known each other fairly well for a long time. It made the very short time line of the story way more believable. Given the duties Amara performs for her Uncle and the role playing she does with Emilio you can completely believe their attraction dispute their age differences.
Emilio was written as a very alpha, very dominant, very dirty man. My absolute favorite type of hero.
I will be reading more Stella Moore.

This book is good if you go into it knowing what to expect. If you go in expecting it to contain a BDSM relationship, you will be upset as this book contains dubious consent that borders or even crosses over to noncon. With that being said, I did enjoy this book. It felt extremely intense and I thought it did a pretty good job combining the traditional tropes from dark romances with an age play relationship. The book manages to be quite emotional even though the plot is fairly over the top and definitely removed from reality. I did wish that it was longer though because I wanted to witness more of the transition from captor/captive to a relationship and then HEA. Although this is somewhat mitigated by the fact that the two characters do have a history together. I also guessed the twist early on but didn't mind that.
Amara's uncle asked her to do a job for him. Not the first time. The problem is the job he wants her to do involves Emilio Rinaldi. She's always had a crush on Emilio, but he rejected her. That doesn't mean she wants to do what her uncle is asking her to do to him. Unfortunately, she gets caught and since he's a daddy, he knows exactly how to punish her. Soon he knows he wants her as his little girl forever, but he's got to find a way to get her away from her uncle. Its hard to believe it when he tells her she can't trust the one person who raised her. This was such a good book and if you like DDLG, you will enjoy it.
