It was just luck that Ian McCray and his family had found Lucy that day. Both Lucy and her sister, Jilly, were in bad need of medical attention. Ian was just thrilled to have found his mate alive. In their situation, it could have been much worse.

Loved Ian and Lucy
Lucy Jackson, 22, has spent the last year living homeless with her younger sisters Jilly, 16, and Cybill, 15. They lost their largely absentee parents to an accident. Their Uncle Josh moved in, saying their parents will put him in charge.
He abandoned them and Lucy has been trying to keep them together. Now she finds she is mate to a bear.
Ian is an easy going man. He enjoys his new job building computers for his sister in law. Now he found his mate and she comes.with two sisters. Ian couldn't be happier with his new little family. The girls have been through a lot and are short on trust and long.on suspicion. Ian gets his feelings hurt. It takes some time for his girls to feel.comfortable and safe.
Demi and Meadow are looking into their uncle and righting some major wrongs. Setting Lucy straight. She has to.make some big decisions fast.
Josh Jackson is not Ian and Lucy's only problem. They have been targeted by a bear shifter who claims to be family and want the to take on a major responsibility. Ian and Lucy aren't so sure about what he is asking.
Just as his new family is settling in. Another little girl shows up. Becky may only be 10, she is smart. She needs help. She brings a lot of danger with her. Ian and the family are willing to step in and help.
A fast paced, sweet and a little steamy shifter romance. A nice set up for Pierce and Josh's story.

Lucy and Ian's story was okay. I won't lie, I was a bit confused on the reason to bring in Hollie and the trickster bear at this point in the story. I guess I'm going to assume Gaea and Mother Nature will play bigger parts maybe in Pierce's or Madden's story??? But at this point, I don't know.
Lucy has been living on the streets for the last 8 months trying to ensure she and her sisters survive. Losing their parents and having an uncle who basically kicks them out of their own home, they have nothing to their names...or at least that's what their uncle tells them.
Ian was literally in the right place at the right time when it came to meeting his mate. But it will take a lot to gain the trust of these 3 girls.
Honestly...Ian wasn't a favorite of mine from the McCray siblings. For Lucy and Ian their story just seemed to go so smoothly in that everything just came together for them easily and the problematic characters were easily put in their place.

I received this book as an ARC and I purchased it too! Kathi S Barton remains one of my favorite authors. The only problem I have with her books is that I can't stop reading until I finish the book and then have to wait for the next book! Thank you Kathi S Barton for your wonderfully entertaining books!

I was given an ARC for an honest review and Kathi S. Barton did not disappoint. This was an amazing read. Always love reading Ms. Barton's books.

Have you been keeping up with the McCray's? This family started off dirt poor and then Lucian McCray met Demi, the richest woman in the world. Each new woman that has come into the life of one of the McCray brothers has been an alpha female and enriched not only their financial status but their entire world. That's really what happened with Ian. They were all at a restaurant Demi and Lucian were having problems with. Ian was working on the computer that had crashed for some reason. That's when they heard a noise out in the alley and someone hollering for help. Yep, you guessed it. Ian met his mate Lucy and ultimately her two sisters. There were so many twists and turns in this book that the plot wove through. I loved the fact that Kathi S. Barton has brought in Mother Nature and Gaela as well. I can't wait to see what magic and intrigue she brings to Pierce's story.
