Best friends Wesley and Anabelle grow up together in a New York City full of playgrounds and promise during the early 2000's. But as they become teenagers, Anabelle's mind turns against her as she struggles with self-harm and experiences hallucinations. Confronted with the horrors that cloud her world and haunt her brain, she becomes existentially depressed. Wesley refuses to give up on the girl he loves, enlisting all sorts of friends, resources, and ideas to show her life's beauty and bring back her hope. But as Wesley rages and fights to save Anabelle, he’s forced to confront his own demons and must find an entirely new way to keep them both alive. This, I think, is why I’m here.
