The phrase, “It’s not personal,” doesn’t apply here. In a small town, everything is personal. Four high school friends, reunited after years apart, but no longer close. Two stayed and made the best lives they could. Good lives. Two disappeared after high school. They left town in different directions and came back a decade later as different men. They both came back with money. They both came back with secrets. And they both fell in love with the same woman. Now a gruesome murder has stunned and terrified this small town, testing the fragile relationships that have been rebuilt. Could one of them have done it?
Great story, and fast-paced; a quick read. The mystery was exciting and wasn't given away. The dialogue is tight and fun to read. I hope to read more from this author in the future.
It was cool to see your personality and phrases built into these characters. It really had a lot Rob in it. I liked the storyline. As far as the writing aspect, it was an easy, except at the beginning. I had to reread some portions to get the characters straight. By midway I was able to follow clearly. Thank you for sharing the story and congratulations on its completion!
