Ambi Parameswaran is an ace marketer, a leadership/brand coach and founder of Brand-Building.com, a brand advisory. 'Brand' is one of his books that talk about building a sustainable brand. Through this short book, he attempted to put forth brief information about the brand building to help people interested in marketing, advertising, and branding.

Often, people think that brand building is an expensive process. It surely is tedious and but not exactly costly. The author argues that one can easily build a successful brand without truckloads of money or VC cash fountain. Thus, he presented the magical potion of a brand that consists of five essential ingredients. They are:
Brand Appraisal
Brand Definition
Brand Articulation
Brand Measurement
Brand Expansion

Each ingredient is further broken down into subtopics. For example, brand appraisal includes market research, competency analysis, etc. On the other hand, brand definition includes a strong brand positioning statement. Further, the author talks about one should strive for timely and effective measurement of their performance while thoughtfully charting their way of brand expansion.

This is a concise read on effectively building a brand. It busts popular myths and provides a simple perspective on something that is otherwise considered complicated. One can easily finish it in a sitting or two and get a clear idea about brand building.

Quick decisive content. Intriguing examples from India but a little dry.
