Thrilling World War Two adventure tale, based on the experiences of DEMS (Defensively Armed Merchant Ships) Gunner John Smith. I didn't know about the many attempted, and failed, convoys to relieve Malta; nor the dangers the crews faced to get through. A very different time, and a very interesting read.

I’m not the target group for this book. It was an OK read with the story plus some non fiction background. A straightforward telling of the story.
