Unusual, Uncanny,Unpredictable & Unique Must Read Thriller 😍😁👍🏻
This is an intertwined story of three females of different age group in totally distinct scenarios and you wont stop turning the page till the end 😋
Ms.Tandel an accomplished lawyer who is renowned fears for her life as she is receiving threats in form of note 📝 Is the threat due to her past criminal cases or just paranoia which she should not take too seriously due to her profession 🧐
Meenu is brought up by her loving grandmother & after her demise she is reunited with her family consisting of her Mother, Father & two elder sisters who she had no idea about until recently 🙁All she craves is attention & love from her mother who is busy in providing for their better future 😇What lengths a small child is pushed for affection really jolted me while reading her story 💔
Sneha is stuck with her married sister who hates her and blames her for all the problems in her life 😭She keeps on contemplating and then procrastinating her suicide plans 🙏🏻 Her staunch faith in Lord Krishna keeps her going 😇 But everything changes when her sister asks her to Marry a drunk good for nothing man for his status & money 💰 Will Krishna be her saviour or the procrastinated plans will become her only solace? 😣
I kept guessing every angle possible for the climax but was totally blind sided 😎 P.S- One of the best thrillers I have read by an Indian Author ✍️
Three stories about three Women of different ages and backgrounds are about to collide, resulting in a catastrophic ending in this very interesting thriller by Puneeth.
Three Women - a lawyer who is brave enough yet fears that someone is out there to kill her. A teenage girl who is so frustrated and trapped by life that she wants to take her life for freedom. Finally a little girl who has so much to live and longs for love and comfort from her parents.
These three unparallel storylines are about to collide via a very dangerous terrifying issue and the lives of several are about to change.
This is my second book by the author and I have to say I quite enjoy his storytelling. He makes good observation and points of only the necessary details of a typical indian society. There are few chapters which made my eyes water just by thinking of how gory our society actually is and how many people are endearing such cruelties in regular life. It just makes me sad. I also liked the way the author narrates the stories without boring his audience nor confusing them with his characters and unparallel storylines.
It is an enjoyable read for those who like to read thrillers with a twist.
After having read all heavy books this month, I was badly in need of a short read. That’s when I picked up ‘The unsolved case of an Indian woman’, a psychological thriller story, that revolves around 3 leading characters Meenu, Sneha, and Ms. Tandel. Set up in the beautiful place of Daman, the story surely kept me hooked on to it from the beginning itself, and having just 113 pages, I was curious to know what exactly was in place for me. I must say that the author hasn’t disappointed me at all.
Born as a girl child in a poverty sick family, Meenu hasn’t ever had a chance to get her parents' affection, especially her mother’s. Having lost both her parents, Sneha is suicidal every day in her life, because of the emotional trauma her sister is throwing her into. Ms.Tandel is a successful lawyer in the country, working for good and fighting against evil. Just when we think she has a perfect life, she gets murder threats from some unknown people and is secretly getting treated by a psychiatrist with whom she falls in love. What happens next is a thrilling journey in finding the truth behind those who are threatening to kill Tandel, and to know whether or not Meenu and Sneha gets a proper closure to all the problems in their life. Also, to learn about that one dreadful string connecting all the three leads, and their fates.
Honestly speaking, I wasn’t expecting that climax at all. There were numerous instances throughout the book, which made me feel 'what the hell just happened', and that says a lot about the writing style of the author, obviously in a good way. Having read several psychological thrillers, I am really impressed by the author's way of narration and the plotline is something definitely out of the blue. Only after completing the book was I able to connect the dots between the plotline and the title of the book, and that is something worth applauding.
Being a psychological thriller, the narrative has an open ending and the odds are that some may not like the climax. Having said that, I really wished the book was a little lengthier in terms of the narration between the characters as it seemed hurried to me. Overall, this book definitely has all the potential to become a work of art in this genre, and I would like to appreciate the author for putting in all the efforts in writing this book brilliantly.
Recommending this book to all the beginners looking for some short thrillers in the psychological genre.
I am usually inclined (read biased) towards Non-Fiction and Historical Fiction genres, but still, while reading this book I would have silently said “WOW!!” more than 100 times. This novel is author’s 3rd book and it was clearly evident throughout the book that author has penned it with a lot of patience, hard work and research. His narration and story-telling skills are awesome and enough to keep you glued till the end.
Coming to the plot, this book narrates the story of 3 female characters based in Daman (Yes, Daman!)- Meenu, Sneha, and Ms. Tandel. Meenu is a small girl always yearning for her mother’s love and ready to do anything to earn her attention. Sneha is a young, beautiful woman who lives with her elder sister and borther-in-law. Due to extreme insecurities of her sister, Sneha has tried to attempt suicide multiple times but always backed out. Ms. Tandel is a well-known advocate known for her choice of cases. She either fights to save the good or to punish the evil. She has been receiving multiple death threats recently but police think she is hallucinating.
The story flows into different chapters narrating the story of each of these characters and takes unexpected turns to blow your mind. This book is a blend of facts and fiction and author has very efficiently built his story around real incidents. The climax of the book is really interesting and you must read the book to know where the story ends. As the title of the book says, this is an unsolved case and the readers are left to conclude the case however they want, and that’s the best part about it!
I thoroughly enjoyed the time I spent reading this book. Even if you don’t like psychological thrillers, give it a try, you won’t regret.
The unsolved Case of an Indian women by Puneeth JH. So the story revolves around Meenu, Sneha and most importantly Miss Tandel who's an advocate of 40. All the characters are different. I must say author has woven this story with all the perfection and in an interesting way.
So basically story starts with Miss Tandel receiving a threatening note, she thought her life is at stake. She's an advocate who fought various cases against criminals. She had helped many people getting justice. The story talks about her past, present and beautifully woven future..
What was those threatening notes about?
What will happen to Miss Tandel?
I must say it is one of the best read of 2020 In thrillers line. I read second book by the author and I found it better than the previous one i.e "Forbidden quest of Mysore", The writing style, theme, setup everything is well. Holding the Book till last page is something what I didn't expected for this book, I don't know why. Atlast not only I read till last page but was hooked to it. It's an interesting read for sure. Cover is looking amazingly amazing...! It's a short read of just one sitting.
Tandel is an advocate who fights against crime. She is a famous successful lawyer. She starts receiving death threats from an unknown person. Her life is in danger.
Sneha is a girl who is not happy with her life and wants to end herself.
Meenu is a little girl who wants to win her mother's love.
I finished this book really fast. It's the second book I read by this author and my expectations were high and I am amazed at the fact that it completely met my expectations . It's a good psychological thriller I have ever read. This book talks about mental health, family issues, crime, science and much more is there in store for you. Writing style was perfect. Language was easy. This book will keep you hooked to it. Ending was mind blowing. I loved this book . Recommended it to everyone.
A thriller psychological novella. Loved the fact that the story is intertwined between real incidents. Makes me wonder if it itself is true! Worth the time!
‘The Unsolved Case of an Indian Woman’ by Puneeth JH is a story that revolves around three characters Ms. Tandel, Sneha and Meenu and how each of them come to be a part of one single story. The book starts with the story of Ms. Tandel who is a lawyer by profession and is receiving death threats from some unknown person. She is suffering from stress and is visiting a psychiatrist named Dr. Yogi Patel who is treating her. Then we have Sneha who lives with her sister Manogna and her brother – in – law. Sneha’s sister is having a tough time in her marriage all because she doubts her husband secretly admiring Sneha. She is constantly behind Sneha getting married to a person named Prashanth who is drunkard and the only thing on his mind is to pester his parents for money so that he can drink more and of course marrying Sneha. Talking about Meenu she is the youngest member of the family who once used to live with her grandmother. But one day unfortunately her grandmother leaves her and she has no other option but to go back to her family who is unknown to her except for her father who visits her sometimes. But the biggest question is how come Ms. Tandel’s, Sneha’s and Meenu’s stories are interconnected? To know more read ‘The Unsolved Case of an Indian Woman’
My Thoughts:
I liked how the author has put forward the stories of three different characters and how their stories are later on interlinked to each other is very interesting. What I really like about this book is that the author has dealt with some serious social issues that we get to see today’s society which shows us how people’s thought process really works when they are committing to a particular crime or even in domestic life when there are trust issues between couples.
The characters are well developed and realistic. I really liked the character of Ms. Tandel who is bravely dealing with the criminals and is against corruption and is also fighting against women harassment. There comes a time when the readers will be forced to think what is real and what is illusion in the case of Ms. Tandel but things start becoming clearer as reach further in the book.
Language is simple and lucid and the narration is nicely done. I also liked the fact that the author has given us a brief tour and the culture of Daman where Meenu’s mother tells us how they earlier used to celebrate a festival wherein they used to stop fishing and everyone used to start farming to be with their family.
The book cover is really interesting and will surely make the readers curious to know about the story. The title of the book is also apt to the plot.
Overall, I really enjoyed reading this book and would surely recommend it to people who love reading psychological thrillers.
"The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man who lives fully is prepared to die anytime". -Mark Twain.
The story revolves around three characters — Meenu, Sneha & Miss Tandel.
Meenu a little girl lived with her grandma. But one day her grandma dies and she returns to her hometown to stay with her family. She has two elder sister Sonu and Monu. One day Meenu and her family members were crossing a bridge and suddenly the bridge collapsed and she loses her loved ones.
Sneha, a young and beautiful girl who lives with her sister Manogna. Manogna always suspects her sister and wants her to get married as soon as possible. She finds a groom for Sneha named Prashanth who does all sort of illegal activities. But Sneha loves Krishna a guy whom she has never seen but got connected through a wrong number. When Prasanth gets to know about this he rapes her.
Miss Tandel, a forty year old successful advocate receives death notes everyday. She complains the police about it but there was no use of it and her doctor, Dr. Yogi Patel claims that she is suffering from schizophrenia (a mental disorder).
After a long time, I read such an interesting and thrilling novel. I am just speechless about this book. As I said, the that book revolves around these three characters- Meenu, Sneha & Miss Tandel and if you want to know what happened in their life further then you have to read this book and you will come to know something unexpected ! The book was quite descriptive and it kept me engaged throughout. Its a perfect and gripping psychological thriller read. If you are person who loves reading psychology and thriller things then you must get your hands over this book. And, I will give it a rating of 4.8⭐/5⭐.
It’s a short read that can be read in few hours so I will keep my reviews short to avoid spoilers. Story has been set up in south Gujarat region. Mainly Vapi, Daman around areas. And I belong to nearby areas so I can relate few things. The protagonist of the story is Miss Tandel, she is forty year old and advocate. She lives in an apartment. She fights against corruption and women harassment. One day she received a threatening note saying, “You are going to die soon.” She went to Vapi police station for registering complaints. There are other characters such as Sneha and Meenu. All three have issues of their own. Mother issues or issues with family lives. They are very different from each other somehow there is something that is similar that connects them. The book is short so I won’t discuss further plot as it will reveal spoilers. I liked the plot as it belongs to my favourite genre that is psychological thriller. I liked all three characters. I like the story that has strong female protagonist. I have read this author’s work before so I had to pick it up and I am glad that I picked this up. There are number of twists and turns plotted. The narration style of the author is crisp and captivating. The story has been written by the perspective of all three women and that’s a really tough job to do. So hats off to the author in that area. Language of the book is lucid so that everyone can enjoy reading it. Overall good one.
The Unsolved Case of an Indian Woman is the story of a lawyer Tandel who wants to se criminals behind bars, a girl Sneha who is struggling for freedom and that of Meenu a little girl yearning for her mother's love.
It's a psychological thriller set in Daman. It's a short read and the plot kept me hooked till the end. The writing style was very clear and beautiful, which made it a pleasure to read. The author also brings in a lot of discussions about many topics like conspiracy theories, mental health and family. The plot twists and the ending is really something to look forward to.
Plot of the Unsolved case of an Indian woman is fresh and something different to read. Here in plot author has talked about different girls and their stories. Ending is different, Though it looked mundane but it has layers to it. Which should be experienced at first hand.
What I like about the plot Plot twist made me apt to read more. Character's mental state and how their personalities developed. There was lot to learn in terms of mindset, how unknowingly we torture ourselves. Strong narration and lucid language
What I dislike Slow pace and it took time to connect with story and character. But when it took good pace, it looked likee it was worth waiting for.
Some books starts with such a positive note that you can't stop yourself from reading it. ✔️ The book starts with the quote- "The destiny of life depends on the roll of the dice. It doesn't matter who rolls it for you, a friend or an enemy. Life remains uncertain." ✔️ Miss Tandel. A 40 yr-old advocate, who fights corruption, solves crimes and stops women harassment. "You are gonna die soon." She received a threatening note. "There is no evidence, madam. I guess you are overthinking." The Police officer had said. "You are hallucinating. You may be Paranoid." The doctor added. > Everyone thinks she was mad! She was not Or was she? ✔️ The book will be best enjoyed in a single go, as it is a short read of 115 pages. I just could not put it down. It was unputdownable. The author uses the place Daman as a backdrop, as the story progresses, the history and politics of the place are made part of the story. If you like thrillers, then this is a must read. ✔️ Few things I loved about the book- 1) Use of footnotes to describe words/places. 2) The story is not dragged. Crisp and clear. 3) Author has wrapped environmental issues & presented in very simple way and narration is to the point. 4) Marine pollution & its impact on ecosystem which has to be looked upon in near future. 5) It's not just a simple storytelling, it's a knowledgeable book. Sure shot recommendation.
This book is dedicated to the people of Daman. And being from Mumbai I have visited Daman many times so I was kinda excited to read this one.
#plot - The famous case of casting couch had closed 3 months ago and Ms Tandel had lost it. But there was something more about this case that Ms Tandel was worried about. Something so strong that she believed it could get her killed. Ms Tandel was receiving threatening letters. The police had brushed off Ms Tandel's complaints saying 'you are just overthinking'. Everyone thought she was mad and hallucinating. But was she really mad or was she not?
#review - In just 113 pages the author has summed up the story well. There are 3 stories running simultaneously in the book but they are somehow connected. The language is pretty much easy and simple so even beginners can go for this. What I liked the most about the book is the way the author has connected the 3 stories and ofcourse the climax in the book. The author has delivered an excellent thriller in just 113 pages. It was a quick and gripping read.
The author has some magic in his words to completely attract our full attention to the stories. Yes, there are three different stories running altogether at different time zones. Every single story has its own sentiments, emotions, feelings and expressions.
It might be the innocence nature of Meenu, a small girl, who wants to win the love of my mother, though she don't understand what they actually worry about! Grown with a grandma till her age of 8, she was shifted to her parents' house after the death of the grandma. Meenu's family had struck up in financial problems and Meenu wants to get money for them so that her mother would love her! But a tragic hits her...
Ms. Tandel, the most famous advocate receives threatening notes that she would be killed. She could not file a complaint as she had no proofs. Is she paranoid? She visits a psychologist named Yogi, and he says that she is psychologically affected! No one is trying to kill her... But her own thoughts! Is it true? Or is there anyone really trying to kill her?
Sneha loves Lord Krishna more than anyone in this world. Her sister wants her to marry a man whom she hated the most. Her brother in law supported her always, but her sister suspects them! She was completely broken and that is when she again called the wrong number she dialled days ago. His name is Krishna... Her Krishna... But unexpected things happen in her life and now she tries to get her good life back with the braveness Krishna gave her through his words! Unfortunately her life seemed destroyed in a night and now her plan is different!
Three different stories... Three different timelines.. But gets connected with a great twist! I was expecting the connectivity of the three stories from the beginning but my guesses were proved wrong! The steady pace of the story and the plot that creates eagerness for the next continuation of the story haunted my mind and I really can't control myself from thinking about this book.
The book talks about the lives of Sneha, Meenu and Ms Tandel. Sneha is a teenager, and she is an orphan who is living with her elder sister Manu and her husband. Sneha's sister is envious of her and wishes to marry her off. There are constant fights in the family regarding this so Sneha blames herself and contemplates suicide but never actually did it.
Meenu is a small girl living with her grandmother but after she passed away, she moves back to her parents' house. Her father is a poor fisherman and her mother is a housewife yet they work hard to provide the best education to their daughters. Meenu has one desire which is to impress her mother, so she loves her as much as she loves her sisters.
Ms Tandel is a famous lawyer who has been involved in a lot of popular cases, but she sees a psychiatrist and complains that she has been getting death threats. Soon, she discovers that she could be suffering from a mental illness which blurs her connection with reality.
So, who are these women and how are they connected to each other? What happened to Sneha and Meenu? Is Ms Tandel imagining her death threats?
The novel deals with mental illness and also touches upon a lot of recent events like the Portuguese Immigration Act which helps to add to the plot. The development of the conflict in the novel is remarkable although I feel if the language would have been a little better and some of the events lack in detail that I felt were loosely connected. In all, the novel is a quick read with a good storyline.
Almost a year ago, Author Puneeth JH approached me with his first work, "The Forbidden Quest of Mysore". I graciously devoured it. I loved his writing, so fresh and so new, something very true to Indian roots, culture and yet remained wonderfully balanced.
Puneeth debunks one of the biggest misconceptions that 'all young Indian writers, write about long lost love, college romance using highly whimsical metaphors.
I am not writing a blurb, as this shall give away the beauty of narration and the storyline. It flows like various tributaries and joins into a big beautiful river of a tale. Here is why you are missing this wonder:
The author takes you to Daman, he is your extraordinaire tour guide with stories, he describes to you tales of people, the common folk that once called the streets of Daman home, and subsequently washed away over time.
There are women, strong bold courageous women that dared to challenge their destiny. We meet grandma and her little granddaughter. We immerse ourselves listening to folklore and songs, dancing to the beats. We meet a little girl who wants to help her parents financially hoping that's one way to her mother's heart. We meet an ambitious teenager, drowned under domestic pressures of her family, she finds little solace in her beloved Krishna. We meet a woman who fights for injustice, in the court of law.
Alas, the best part, the ending, the illusion, it sucks you into a vacuum and leaves you with a void.
The book "Unsolved Case of an Indian Woman' by @puneethjh published by @halfbakedbeans is available on kindle
Book name: the unsolved case of an Indian Woman Author: Puneet JH No. of pages: 117 Edition: Kindle The unsolved case of an Indian woman is a psychological thriller revolving around mainly three characters, Ms. Tandel, Sneha and Menu. The backdrop of the book is Daman, a city in the union territory of Daman and Diu on India’s west coast. Ms. Tandel is a middle-aged advocate, who fights corruption, solves crime and stops women harassment. ‘you are going to die soon’ she received a threatening note. ‘there is no evidence ma’am, I guess you are overthinking,’ said a police man. ‘you are hallucinating, you may be paranoid’ added the doctor.
Now the question is, was she really mad or not?
The unsolved case of an Indian woman is a book about riot of perspectives. I once heard, there is no truth but only perception. This book is exactly about this. In about 120 pages, this book guarantees to keep you on your feet. As it is such a short book, you can finish this in just one seating. I loved the ending of the book, but at the same time I hate it too. I have love hate relationship with open endings, as these make me go crazy. And surely this book made me crazy too. The beginning of the book was average, but as you proceed with the book and reach about ¾ th in the book, that’s when the magic happens. I was literally shocked. The thing that really impressed me was, despite the length of the book, at no point the story feels rushed.
The characters were a bit disappointing to me, but considering the length of the book I think it is justified. Overall, I really liked the book. It is a short and enjoyable book. 4/5
I would like to thank the author for providing me an opportunity to read his book in exchange of an honest review.
Sneha feels like killing herself everytime she has a row with her elder sister. But for some silly reason she always backs out and goes back home. She finds solace in reading a book named Radha which describes the love of Radha for Krishna and gives her strength to go on in life. . Meenu used to live with her grandmother and has just return back to her parents' home after her grandmother died. She craves for her Mother and Sister, Monu's love and does everything for it but they are difficult to please. . Ms. Tandel is a renowned advocate known for her sharpness and intelligence while arguing the cases. She is lonely and stressed and consults a Psychiatrist Dr. Yogi Patel. But their relationship moves on from a doctor-patient to lovers. Yet something is pestering Ms. Tandel. . The book is a story about these three female characters and how their life converges. It is a short story, crisply written with some unthinkable twist. . The story was gripping from the word go and I must say, not a dull moment at all. I loved the attention to details by the author in weaving the story. . If you love short stories and a twist in the tale, go for it. You will enjoy this Unsolved Case thoroughly !!
⚜️ This is the first book I accepted for review, the name itself made me curious to accept the copy.
⚜️ The first half of book is based on the story of three Individual female characters, namely:
1. Meenu : Third female child born in fisherman family. Her story is set in Daman. She was raised by her grand mother and after her death. She is back with her family but misfortune happens and she loses her family. 2. Sneha : This girl is having suicidal instincts but she cope up to that with the help of a friend come to known as “Krishna”. Sneha is a rape victim. Her story is also set in Daman and to some extent in Surat. 3. Ms. Tandel : Is a lawyer by profession. A woman in her forties trying to deal with loneliness and as being successful she is also enduring the life threats. She feels like she is losing her sanity and consults Dr. Yogi Patel. She attaches emotionally with Dr Yogi.
⚜️ The prima facia was that all these three female characters have their own story but the twist In the plot takes place in the Second half of the book. When all these three stories merge into one. Perfect amalgamation is done by The author.
⚜️This book is a fine thriller, nicely depicted and also perfect timing of twist and turns makes it a real page turner. it was the climax of the book that baffles the reader. Climax is like one size fits all concept.
⚜️Thank you for giving this book for review. It was a pleasure reading it. looking forward for more of your work !!
A psychological thriller involving three characters, Mrs. Tandel, who fought most cases for herself than money, Sneha with her idealistic views on life and her immense love for Lord Krishna and a little girl, Meenu yearning for her mother's love but as the plot progressed it blended into one. Also, the mystery slowly builds around the story. Set in Daman, the plot was well knitted around real incidents which is carefully researched before presenting. The theme of love is also highlighted in the story. The language is simple and direct and the ending chapters have twists and turns keeping you engaged. Questions such as Conspiracy? Hallucinating? Mind control? arises till the end. The ending does justice to the title of the book. With it's open-ended narrative the reader is left to draw his or her own conclusion. I really liked the novel, it's plot and the characters. I finished this novel in one sitting and would recommend it everyone specially if someone is new to this genre.
First things first, this is a well researched book. The author has really really put in efforts to research and related it to fiction. Kudos to you Puneet JH. I learnt a lot from it. Psychological thriller was always my thing since the beginning so I loved this book so much. I was totally blown in the middle of the book when the author merges the three characters. It is a page turner I must say. If psychological thriller is your genre then go for it. Its worth reading. As the name suggests, this is an unsolved case and the author has left the decision on the reader. But in no way does it make this book a cliffhanger sort of a thing. I took it really slow relishing every word and this is one of the books that you really don't want it to end despite being a page turner. ❤️ And honestly the only glitch was the length of the book as I wanted it to be more lenghty. 😭❤️
Set in Daman, India, this book is a psychological thriller that has three female protagonists-Miss Tandel, a famous advocate who receives death notes but is repeatedly told by her psychiatrist and the police that it’s all in her head, Sneha who wants to escape the toxic environment of her sister's house and Meenu who can go to any extent to win her mother’s affection. How their stories intertwine makes for an interesting and exhilarating read. The plot is fresh and will keep you hooked. Though a little descriptive at places, with variegated themes throughout, which might lead you to think in a variety of directions, the book manages to keep the surprise intact till the very end. Building three main characters and justifying them in just ~120 pages is a challenging task and the author, Puneeth has definitely done a good job of it. We received a review copy of this book, and must say, it did not disappoint!
The Unsolved Case of an Indian Woman is a psychological thriller which revolves around the lives of three girls of different age groups. The story is set in the neighbouring city of Gujarat, Daman.
🌻Meenu, an eight year old girl shatters after her granny dies. She then goes back to live with her family where she is disturbed by the unloving nature of her mother and sister. Her father and eldest sister are the only ones who love her.
🌻Sneha is a 17 year old girl who lives with her sister, brother in law and nephew. She is fed up of her sister's insecurities and often thinks of giving up her life. However, her faith in Krishna and her father-like brother in law keeps her from dying.
🌻Ms Tandel is a lawyer in her mid fourties who fights corruption, solves crimes and stops women harassment. She is too, worried about the threatening death notes that she receives.
Three stories, different backgrounds but one ending. I really loved the writing style. It is a short read of 113 pages and is un-put-down-able. This book is an amazing read if you are into a reading slump. The ending was the most appropriate and I loved the way it ended. The book also contains interesting facts about psychology which shows that this book is written on the basis of good research. If you are someone who loves thrillers, I surely recommend this book to you.
As the title suggests about the book is life story of an Indian woman whose case remains unsolved. The story is woven around a 40-yr old female advocate miss tandel, fighting against corruption. She is made to believe that she is paranoid. It is our own thoughts that could destroy us no other can. Sneha a teenager, in love with her krishna . Always tries to kill herself due to her elder sisters insequrity. She made me realize the hardest fight we fight is against our family but it's our faith in God and most importantly ourselves which gives us strength to fight it. Meenu a little girls craves for her mothers love just as old granny loves loves. Loved the way author presented the lives of a Indian women and their strength. Great work must read if want some physiological thrill. This just my reviews about what I felt about it.
What an exhilarating journey this book is, what started as the story of 3 females got converged in an unbelievable way. Sneha, a girl who has lost her parents and is now living with her sister, her husband and their child. Her sister is insecure and believes that Sneha is a home wrecker and is trying to break her marriage and thus wants her to have an alliance with a local goon. Meenu, who is an unwanted child in a poor family has found her solace in the matriarch of her town but unfortunately she lost her and was forced to return to her family of parents and two elder sisters and finally Ms. Tandel, who is a lawyer by profession and has aim of getting every corrupt person punished. She is facing death threats and is consulting with a psychologist cum psychoanalysts as police believes that she is hallucinating. Set up in the backdrop of beautiful Daman (which was a Portuguese colony till 1961 and being a Portuguese colony is a major part of story), the story takes the readers deep into the biggest puzzle that is mind. Throughout the story, the reader is trying to figure out the difference between real and imaginative fiction. The story is fast paced and keeps you hook till the end. Do read it, it is pacy, edgy and thriller of a kind.
The unsolved case of an Indian woman is a phsycological thriller novel and the book is short and very easy to read .It was a great read and worth the time.If you are a fan of thriller then do give this book a read.☺️👍
PLOT- The story is set in the city of Gujarat ,Daman. This book contains three stories three women and one very interesting ending.
*sneha is a 17 yr old girl who has a greater faith in Lord Krishna .
*a Little girl meenu longing for her mother's love .
* Mrs tandel who is a corrupt free honest lawyer.
I liked how at some point three of these women's life are combined to one.The suspense stays till last and the climax was efficiently written..
3 stories, 3 women, and one ending... However, the blurb doesn't do justice to this well-researched suspense thriller.... What really intrigued me was the setting of Daman, a port that is rarely mentioned in contemporary literature, which becomes an important aspect of the plot. The three women live in Daman, and are looking for something in each of their lives... What i liked most about this book, was how the plot was interwoven around events that happened in real life, you'd wonder at the audacity of the events, but they all check out.. The suspense stays till last and it keeps you on edge, the twist at the end was shockingly good. . But, in spite of that, i couldn't help noticing a glaring loophole in the plot, almost 30% in the book, which has been tried to explain later, but it does keep prodding you in the back of your mind... The character development is also unsatisfactory, it starts promisingly for 2 threads, but seems stagnant for the main one, which kind of bums me out given the way the whole story has developed as a maze. There's also the case of copious amounts of exposition which sometimes render the whole narrative as artificial reminding you again and again that this is a book after all...
The Unsolved Case of an Indian Women, is a wonderful short novel. It has been written very fluently and is only about 113 pages, so it serves well for a quick read or a marathon. It is a psychological thriller about a women who has endured many tortures in her life and has come to a stage where her mind is undertaken by Schizophrenia.
The novel is very well researched and has almost every social evil known to this planet. The only problem with that is, that a book with so many issues fails to highlight the one significant issue. Issues like Casting Couch, Brain Drain, Illegal Migration and many more have been introduced in the book. I feel a little more justice would have been given to these issues, if they were focussed more on.
However, I would lastly like to say that the main plot of this whole novel was very unique and interesting. At the same time, a deeper meaning of the ending has to be understood really well in order to get a full picture of the novel. This was my first psychological thriller and I think I had a good start.

"The Unsolved Case of an Indian Woman" was a thrilling roller coaster for me where I started doubting my own reality. I love supporting Indie authors and I was pleasantly surprised at how good the book was. It starts off with the stories of three women in Daman. The book is filled with rich details about the history and culture of Daman and the author takes a clever opportunity to amalgamate this with a well-known conspiracy theory. I am a sucker for conspiracy theories and this book drew me in instantly! I look forward to future endeavours from Puneet!
