I wanted a quick, richly-illustrated and most of all practical guide on how to make Feng Shui happen in the house I just moved into. This book, or at least the first half of it, isn't it. It's mostly talk and theory on topics like Taoism, yin and yang and the nature of the different elements (I'm water, if you believe the book's quiz, and fire, if you believe astrology.)

I just wanted to know, without the philosophic fluff, what color of rugs I should consider and where I should put my plants.

This isn't to say that I don't like philosophic fluff or that this is a good or bad book. It' just not the book I'm looking for now.

From Netgalley for Review

This book was an excellent example of Feng Shui focusing on the elements. Not only does it show ways to incorporate the five elements into your home (and more than just paint a wall blue for water or red for fire) while also finding balance within self using the traditional Chinese medicine route.

The author is clearly well versed on the art of Feng Shui and has a great understanding of how the elements cycle works. I recommend this book to anyone who is wanting to learn about both.

The best feng shui book to refer people to that I've run across. Morris does a fantastic job of explaining the five elements and yin and yang so that beginners will understand. Included are multiple ways for the reader to determine their main element and also various scopes for looking at spaces in the home and how certain elements work together for either harmony or discord. This is a fabulous reference to return to.

Received the book from NetGalley for review.

This wasn’t the book I was expecting, but I guess it was the book I needed. With a strong focus on the five elements, and the influence of your own element it offers the opportunity to increase or decrease yin and yang in areas where you might need it.

This book is a great example of how to incorporate Feng Shui into your everyday life. You are given examples of how to use it in your home and also for yourself.

Will try this book again when I live in a house or at least have a bedroom. Some of the principles just simply wouldn’t jive with my small studio space. That’s not Feng Shui’s fault. Still learned some cool tips ✨

Not much new stuff here but I did find the "Remove, Rearrange, and Energize" to be something I hadn't heard before with Feng Shui and it makes a lot of sense.

I liked how this book boosted my knowledge regarding the philosophical aspects of Feng Shui and the influence of the five elements. However, it would be appreciated if there were less theories and more of implementations on how to energize or arrange your spaces in respect to the five elements and Feng Shui. I enjoyed this book because it was my area of interest as an Interior Designer but it has to be more fun and easy for people who have no knowledge about spaces or Feng Shui and they want a guide for themselves.
