Recipient of a 2021 Most Promising New Textbook Award from the Textbook & Academic Authors Association (TAA) Discovering Public Relations introduces students to the field of PR in a practical, applied, and hands-on way that prepares them for the modern workplace. Author Karen Freberg guides students through the evolution of contemporary PR practices with an emphasis on social media, digital communication, creativity, and diversity. Understanding that innovation alone can’t create success, Freberg shows students how to use, choose, and implement evidence-based practices to guide their strategic campaigns. The text will transform today’s students into tomorrow’s successful PR professionals by giving them the tools to think creatively, innovate effectively, and deploy research-backed tactics for successful campaigns. Included with this The password-protected Instructor Resource Site (formally known as SAGE Edge) offers access to all text-specific resources, including a test bank and editable, chapter-specific PowerPoint® slides.
What an awful textbook. The author frequently buries the lead. It’s written in a wordy and clunky manner. The entire book reads like the author is trying to relate to college students but has completely forgotten what it’s like to be a college student. It’s as if she crossed elementary school examples with overtly wordy sentences.
Absolutely awful. Worst textbook of the semester by far. I hated reading it with every fiber of my being.
Vel skrifuð og einkar áhugaverð um flesta afkima almannatengsla, skemmtileg álestrar sem er ekki alltaf raunin með kennslubækur en Freberg tekst vel til.
Based on the PESO (Paid, Earned, Shared and Owned) plan, it is an excellent book for teaching Public Relations to college students. I will definitely continue to use this book as I love the way the chapters are set up with activities that reinforce the learning.
