A callous corporate decision has turned Laura Edwards' world, upside down. She’s got to pull herself together - and fast.
Her estranged sister, a successful attorney living the high-life, decides to reveal a secret that opens deep emotional wounds from the past. And the reminder of an earlier betrayal might make any kind of reunion impossible.
A handsome knight in shining armor comes to her aid several times before she even knows his name. Kind and charming...he’s the one thing she swore she’d never get involved with. Little does she know, she’s already captured his heart.
She feels total relief when a business opportunity presents itself while visiting her small hometown. It’s just where she wanted to be all along. Her dream of a cottage on the river is within reach.
The timing seems so unfair when a heartbreak from her past tracks her down and tempts her with an extraordinary proposition. It will solve all her problems - except one. He knows where she’s vulnerable and leverages his own needs to pressure her, secretly steering her in the direction that’s best for him. She’s left at a crossroads; follow her own desires, or accept what seems to be the offer of a lifetime.
On a cold and starry night on San Francisco Bay, she's forced into a tearful admission, and the outcome will determine which road she takes.

A well written, clean romance that has developed characters. The author brings up some deep emotions that have never been expressed between these sisters with a good reconciliation. There are also fun characters that bring life to the story. The main character learns the importance of being truly happy with life over choosing a career that makes money with no time for life. I am looking forward to the next Willow Glen Book due in the fall of 2020!
I so enjoyed this story ! David was such a very special guy, so sincere and honorable widower, who had suffered the Loss of his first wife to breast cancer and was a sweet Christian. Laura was almost engaged at one point before donor backed out and their relationship fell apart. David was a musician, which was the kind of guy she trusted, but learned to love him very much after all,
I loved this book because it made me feel so good as I read it! In addition to the main story about Laura and the crossroads in her life, there are sub-plots and a lot of lovable secondary characters who round out the story. Laura’s inner struggle is palpable and the author really brings it to life. Willow Glen is a charming place and the author did a great job establishing the setting. I could practically see myself kayaking on the river, hiking in the woods, and taking walks with my own dog on the beach. This book was wholesome, small town fiction at its best. Can’t wait for the second book so I can go back to Willow Glen!
