The Lodge #3

Trust in Me

Rate this book
He desperately wants someone to care for him. Does he dare share his secret with the ideal man?

Sam is terrified of his own success. He may have set up a dream playroom at The Lodge for Daddies and their littles to play, but as a trans man, he struggles to believe anyone would want him as their boy. And though he feels an immediate connection with a handsome high school principal, he can’t stand the thought of being rejected.

Theron has spent his life focused on his career instead of himself. But now that he’s older, he’s missing that special someone to take care of. And the sexy college student who set up the playroom seems perfect – even if there are hurdles to overcome.

As the chemistry between them becomes white-hot, Sam’s reluctant to introduce his new lover to his family, dreading they’ll be angry about the age difference and their dynamic. And while Theron falls hard for the beautiful young man, he worries he’s too old to give his sweet boy a real future.

Can Sam and Theron overcome their fears to embrace the love they both deserve?

Trust in Me is the scorching third book in The Lodge series set in the kinky town of Annandale. If you like blistering bedroom scenes, tender relationships, and happy endings, then you’ll adore Quinn Ward’s spicy story.

I think I found this book originally when I was looking through a mm transgender best of list, but I wanted to start at the beginning of the series so it has taken me a while to get this far. I really, truly enjoyed this book SO much and every other book before it. Others have made complaints that the endings of these books are somewhat abrupt, but I like them. Every ending is a HEA but it never feels like it is really the end of that couple's story.

Quinn is a master of writing age play books.

I love Sam, since the moment he first appeared, and with this book, he finally gets his story. And what a story it is.

He also gets the daddy he deserves.

Trust in Me in the third book in the Lodge series by Quinn Ward. This book is about Sam, who you already met if you read the other books in this series, and Theron. I really loved their story. It was hot, sweet and sexy. It is very well written and I highly recommend it.

Loved the ownvoices trans rep! It's really difficult to find trans rep in BDSM books and this one was so well done in both the kink and the rep!

As I already said in other reviews I'm not personally into age play, but I am trying to push myself lately and to educate myself more on kinks that are not my own and to get more comfortable with them.

That all said I really enjoyed this book! Theron is such a sweet and understanding man and Sam is so adorable and deserves all the love and the pampering in the world.

Same as the other books in the series I wouldn't have been against visiting more in depths some of the plot points/characters that are introduced, but I still had a great time reading this!

I thought that Sam was really, really brave. I mean, just being out on your own, being as busy as he is, and putting his ideas in front of his boss and putting them into place is hard enough, but when you add in all the other things that Sam that had to deal with was an awful lot on top. I'm glad that he had so many friends who were willing to watch over him and protect him.

Theron is a good man. He just wants to make sure that Sam is fine, no matter what. I really like how supportive he is, and how he's willing to do things that he's unsure about because he knows that it's best for Sam. It shows that Daddies and Doms aren't perfect and that they worry about getting things right too.

Great book

I really love Annandale and the community Quinn Ward created in these books.

Sam and Theron were so sweet. I really loved the way they got together.

Their relationship is both fast and slow, cute and sexy throughout.

It was very enjoyable and I loved every aspect of it.

A really great book and I can't wait for what's next

Can’t believe it’s the end

And that’s a wrap. I loved this series. I’m so glad Sam finally got his HEA. He found a daddy that was just right for him it was a wonderful to watch him grow. I loved how this relationship worked and thank you to opening my eyes a little bit more to the trans world. The writing was good the smexy was hawt and the side characters were amazing of course since they were past MC’s. My only complaint is a few of the pages scenes I would have loved to see and I really hope we get to see Mav’s story

Daddy’s Little Forever!

This is a unique, kinky, and sensitively portrayed love tale between quirky, smart business manager Sam & compassionate high school principal Theron. Likable characters and good storytelling. Although, the situation with the parents seemed a little far fetched. A good read.

So glad we got to hear Sam's story .
Once rejected Sam has been wary of getting into another relationship. Not thinking anyone would accept him for who he was.
Theron was drawn to Sam the first time he saw him at the club but waited untill the opening of the playroom to go to him.
William warned Theron off Sam telling him to think hard before committing to him as he didn't want to see Sam get hurt .
Theron makes the perfect daddy for Sam as he explores his little side and his sexuality .
Would highly recommend.

Having read the other books in this series I was already half in love with Sam so I was really excited to get his story. Sam is adorable and I loved the sensitive way that Theron approached the relationship, totally accepting Sam and helping him work through his insecurities. They really make a very sweet couple.

Trans representation is very rare in mm books and it’s even rarer that it is done right. Def my favorite book from this series. (If y’all have any similar recs 👀)

It just wasn't long enough, I wanted more! This is a great read, the story of Sam and Theron. From book 1 I have just wanted Sam to get his hugs and Daddy and yay he did! Theron is perfect for him.

Amazing trans boy/daddy story

Amazing, Quinn went where nobody has gone with a trans character before.
I've read a lot of books containing trans characters but this one was different. It addresses something that was seen as taboo in any other book and opened up about other options trans guys have
Theron is the perfect Daddy, so attuned to Sam/Sammy's moods and anxieties. Would love to find out if he ends up standing back from the school or if someone did find out about his lifestyle.

The part were Sam's parents visit and he realises there might be more to his parents relationship than he wants to think about. ROFL, I nearly fell out of bed laughing.

An amazing read 🙂🙂

I really enjoy this series each has it's own special people looking for that one person who can make their life complete. Although they are related they can be read as a standalone, because although old friends continue to show up the book is about the main characters. Sam works hard at The Lodge and is still in school finishing his degree but there is something missing in his life, but when he meets Theron he finds that maybe this isthatspecial someone who could make he life complete if only he is willing to trust again.

Independent reviewer for Gay Romance Reviews, I was gifted my copy of this book.
Daddy/little books are, for me, a bit hit and miss, and the blurb has to be especially grabbing for me to want to read it, or it needs something different.
And for me, the different in this book was what made me say yes. Sam is a trans man, and this is mostly about how he feels that he isn’t enough, that he will never be enough of a man to be someone’s boy.
Theron, however, is a care giver but not quite a Daddy to the boys he had in his care. Meeting Sam at the opening of the play room at The Lodge that Sam designed made him question why he never had a boy call him Daddy before. But very quickly, Theron knew why: he was waiting for Sam to come along. He knew he wanted that special relationship with Sam, but first he needed to know what his friend had warned him about. Hearing what Sam had to say was difficult, but he was glad Sam was able to tell him. Theron knew now, how to proceed with Sam.
Sam, on the other hand, did not know what Theron saw in him, why he wanted Sam. He wasn’t gonna be enough for a man, a Daddy like Theron. And it was painful reading, how little Sam thought of himself. But it was equally amazing watching Theron bring Sam out of himself, watching Theron bring the little out of Sam.
I learnt a few things in this book. I learnt something about trans males. I learnt about littles. And I learnt that some things are not really my cuppa tea (but I’m not holding the book accountable for that, that’s a hang up for me and me only)
I think the only thing, for me, that stopped it getting 5 stars was the SPEED at which everything moved. It was just a tad too fast for me. Once Sam goes to Theron’s house that first time, its ALL in, right from the start. Too much, too soon, I thought. Maybe Sam needed that, I dunno, but that’s how I felt, and I’m all about my book feelings.
This is the third book in The Lodge series, but I haven’t read the other two. I will do, now though. I need to read William and Corey’s story, and also, I need to read about Jack, the elusive owner of the Lodge. I don’t feel I missed out on anything by not reading them before, I just WANT to read them now!
4 very good stars

A beautiful story of a young, gay, trans man getting his HEA with and loving, understanding and giving Daddy as they explore a possible relationship and his Little side.
Sam does not have faith in himself or his abilities when it comes to his work at The Lodge regardless of how much his friends say otherwise and how successful the new room at the club is. He's stressing on his schoolwork, his loud and ignorant housemates and now his new attraction to Theron.
Theron is attracted to Sam as soon as he sees him and when they properly meet and get to know each other, he falls for the man and the boy. They both find out things about themselves as they explore Sam's little side and their physical relationship, some of it completely new each of them. It's wonderful to read as the trust is built and feelings develop on both sides, of course with a little push and help from their friends. William especially steps up to the plate as a protector for Sam, who had a bad experience when his trans status was revealed to his ex, to ensure that whoever wants to be with him understands and treats him right.
I really enjoyed the relationship that unfolded for Sam and Theron. Sam needs a fair amount of support from his partner/Daddy and Theron is the perfect man for the job. I love the exploration that they do together though Theron is definitely needed to guide Sam when it comes to looking after himself, eating and sleeping right especially.
A great story that is a positive addition to the series and very well written by Quinn Ward.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

3,5*

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:

5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-
Away-book like
‘Jesse's Smile' or ‚Joey’ from Angelique Jurd,
‘Save the kids' series from EM Leya,
‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or
'Liberty' from Seth King),
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often reread and is a
WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises
(like most of Andrew Grey books and
Davidson Kings 'Haven Hart'-series)
it's like an A

3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few
times a year (most romances where you can
enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in
hospitals). I can recommend them definitively!
It's like an B+

3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader,
maybe 2-3 times a year. It’s like a B

2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time-
reader (i wouldn't recommend it heartily, but
it was ok). It's like a C-, D

1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too
many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an
absolut NO-GO). It's like failure in the whole
line, dismissed, repeat the class

Good god, every single moment of Quinn Ward's Trust in Me is freaking amazing! This is an absolute gem for any fans of age play.

This is the first time I have read about a transgender little, which added to the intrigue. Omg, the special little ways in which Theron makes Sammy feel special is spectacular. I love it all.

Poor Sam is full of insecurities about his body. He's a boy, but struggles with his anatomy and his desires. I love the way Theron treasures him, yes, absolutely treasures him, and makes him know he's special.

This story is full of tender moments that will melt your heart, as Theron builds up Sam's confidence while allowing him to be who he is. And seeing Sammy in his little space is fantastic.

Told in alternating 1st person pov, every single thought and feeling jumps off the pages.

There are many little touches that melts my heart, as Theron gives Sammy training pants, children silverware, and special toys. But by far, my favorite moment is Theron's dismissal of the term "junk," instead calling it his "treasure." A totally heart melting moment.

Overall, Trust in Me is a mesmerizing read. This Quinn Ward gem is a must for my re-read list.

This is an excellent addition to The Lodge series and it is by far my favorite. Trust in Me is beautifully written, sweet, fun, inspiring, emotional, full of cuddles, super sexy and I loved everything about it. I was so happy that it was finally Sam's turn to find the perfect Daddy as he has intrigued me since the first book and learning about his past explains a lot about why he acts the way he does. In spite of his wonderful and accepting parents he has faced criticism and ridicule which has eroded his confidence. Theron is an amazing Daddy who is willing to do anything necessary to be exactly what Sam needs. They are so good together with Sam's bravery and Theron's seemingly endless patience that it seems like they have known each other forever instead of just a short time. I love the secondary characters, the beautiful Daddy/boy dynamic and the perfect ending. I am sad that this series is over but I can't wait to see what the author has in store for us next.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

This one is my favorite out of all of Quinn Ward’s books. While I’ve loved them all this one got to me on such a deeper level. I love Sam and normally I connect more with the submissives but in this case it was Theron I really connected with. The way he was and what he said when Sam told him he was a gay trans man I knew he was perfect for Sam. The parts don’t make the person. I have always felt that. To truly see a person you have to know the mind and the heart. The package it comes in is just gift wrap. While my little subbie heat will always be in tune with the littles and middles, Theron gives me so many more reasons to appreciate and love the Daddies too. This was so well written that I almost feel like I can meet and be friends with all of them. Interestingly enough I did live in Annandale Va. when I was little so I can pretend I met them. Though only a few would have been around wayyyy back then lol.

I totally loved this book. Sammy and Theron were so perfect for each other. Sammy's background made me so sad. I cried when I read how he went from this confident individual to this scared guy due to one guys attitude. What made it extra sad is that I know that this happens too many times in the real world. I was really glad that Theron didn't have the reaction to the news Sammy shared that Sammy feared. Theron proved that he is the type of Daddy that Sammy needed.
Watching Sammy and Theron's relationship was special. Theron didn't try to move at a pace that would spook Sam, he went at the speed that worked for the both of them. Them finally coming together and being able to have the relationship they both were looking for was great. This story is my favorite in this series, so I totally recommend it.

This is the third book in the series but it can be read as a standalone. I will say though that you don’t want to miss the second book because William and Corey’s story is brilliant.
In this book we follow Sam and Theron as they get to know each other and grow closer. Sam was one of my favorite characters from the previous books and I was really looking forward to read his story. The book has all you need in a romance. Wonderful and unique characters that are well developed. Beautiful writing, sweet scenes, sexy scenes and a heartwarming happily ever after. I had the best time reading it and I can’t wait to read more books from the author.

I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.

I loved it!

I loved reading Trust in Me by Quinn Ward. It's the third book in The Lodge series. I loved getting my first glimpse of Sam from the previous book in the series. I was so happy that this book is about him finding his Daddy. Sam does have some trust issues due to his previous relationships. And that does make it hard for him to trust what Theron tells him. I loved watching Sam learn to trust in his Daddy and then finally get their happily ever after. I also loved that Sam is a trans man and that when he tells Theron at the beginning of their relationship that Theron isn't fazed by it. I look forward to reading the next book in the series when it comes out. I read this book using the Kindle Unlimited program.

Sweet daddy kink romance, mild angst. Both main characters are well written, and I liked the importance of communication and trust in their relationship. . I did feel as if Sam and Theron fell in a love rather quickly, maybe a bit too easily, but that has its own charm too, of course. Great transgender representation, really loved how positively that aspect of Sam and Theron’s relationship was written. I was a little stumped by William’s facilitating role in the way they got together, but all involved seemed comfortable, and he proves himself a supportive friend to Sam. Sam’s parents were lovely too, and quite the surprise.

This was a sweet and pretty much angst-free story of Sam who has been working hard at The Lodge finally finding a Daddy of his own and becoming comfortable with all that entails.

Sam is super sweet, and I was so happy to see him find someone. I loved that William was there to help him with his initial interactions with Theron. I liked how Theron was willing to do whatever it took to make Sam comfortable with him. Their interactions were sweet, and I loved that Theron, while a little unsure briefly after hearing Sam's secret was still confident in how he treated Sam and loved him. I loved that Theron took Sam's differences in stride and made sure that Sam treasured himself as he was.

Another great story in this series. I enjoyed watching Sam and Theron together and with their friends. Sam is such a sweetheart but is scared of how others will react when they know the real him. Theron is so patient and understanding but just needed the right person to make him take a chance. I really like the story, though I am not very good when series stories overlap because I always feel like they become inconsistent. There were some things I felt mentioned but ignored later or glossed over that would have been good to talk more about.

A story about true understanding

What a fantastic and enthralling read, another wonderful well written book in this series.
Sam has been able to push through his fears and put his dream into practice.
Theron is intrigued by the young man who has made this special and safe space for daddies and their littles.
Can Sam have the courage to open himself up and put his trust in Theron, to lay all his fears and doubts out in the open and will Theron be able to handle all that would entail.
A well written book that sees all the issues from both MC's point of view, it will leave you with feelings of understanding and heartwarming joy.

Sam gets a Daddy

I am loving this series. Quinn has a wonderful way of creating characters and story lines that are believable and respectful. Sam’s “coming out” to Theron was very emotional for me. It was so wonderfully written. As the reader, I experienced the worry and anxiety that Sam had while telling his story. You feel the trepidation from Theron as he decides whether or not he is ready for a relationship with someone who has transitioned. Really well written and enjoyable.

Sam has been hurt and hurt badly in the past. By someone who claimed to love him, then made him feel bad about wanting to be his best self.
I believe that everyone deserves the chance to be themselves, and that made me question if every trans person questions the meeting of each new person in their lives and how they are going to be received.

Theron felt something for Sam immediately, but took his time in making a move.
Like the saying, good things come to those who wait.

They are a fab couple. With Theron easily reading Sam like a book

Through the earlier books in this series (which you don't need to read to love this one), Sam has been a bit of an enigma to me. I adored him, but knew there was something more to him.

Trust In Me was full of surprises. As things were revealed, there was more than once that i said "I was not expecting that!".

Sam was just everything I wanted him to be. My heart went out to him and I adore Theron. His sensitivity and care when it came to Sam is what we all need in a partner.

I am looking forward to more of The Lodge in the future.
