Wall-Might: Gold Standard

Rate this book
A collection containing "My Hero MAGAdemia", "Wall-Might" and "Wall-Might 3: The MAGAlorian", a small story about FLOTUS taking down the nefarious Jeff Eppenstein, and additional material in the form of sketches and covers.

Broad parody centered around American politics, comics, and the "comicsgate" phenomenon.

I bought this primarily for the third story in the "Wall-Might" mythos, but I read the whole thing through and it still holds up. The fist story, "My Hero MAGAdemia" still cracks me up with its mix of animé and American politics, like Mexican Luchadors coming over the southern border "Attack on Titan"-style making little "DACA!DACA!" noises as they cross, or the missiles hitting the White House exploding with "DRUMPF!DRUMPF!" It's just silly fun.

The second story, "Wall-Might" feels more politically oriented, or perhaps I'm not picking up on the animé references here. But it's a strong story about the Swamp Creatures calling in the wild, intractable Burning Sanders to fight Wall-Might.

Then there's a cute short about FLOTUS beating up Jeff Eppenstein who did not, apparently, kill himself, despite what everyone (no one) believed.

Finally there's "The MAGAlorian". I haven't seen a moment of "The Mandalorian" but the references to Baby Yoda and Darth Bader (Ginsburg) are tough to miss. As seems to be a running gag at this point, every evil defeated by Wall-Might and his Maiku ("Might Fence") is the secret evil behind all the other evil up to this point, even if never mentioned previously. This somehow feels very animé.

Anyway, it's silly fun. Good art, good laughs, thumbs up. You can see why these have gotten so popular.

An awesome political satire.

Tired of comic books with political agendas? Read this comic instead! It has a lot of action, humor, and it doesn't give a damn. Some jokes might not make sense, but the great artwork and writing will keep you engaged. We need more comic books like this one. Fun and funny.
