Mandy I thought the only good alien was a dead one. Those Pig Faces and Tooth Fairies razed human civilization and forced us underground a couple hundred years ago. I'd still be there, except my mother told us we had to flee the compound for our very lives. My brothers and I figure we'll hide out or maybe find other survivors band together to kick some alien butt. Until the first thing we see are a squad of pink, fanged Tooth Fairies waiting for us with ray guns at the ready.
Horlas When the humans asked me to check out what looked like yet another historical underground bunker site, I felt it was a waste of time. They are always either empty, or filled with the dead, and nearly always in serious disrepair. In the early days, the bunkers also housed dissidents who attacked us and any humans they found fighting by our side, thinking we were the aggressors rather than those who came to save their world. As a result, by treaty, we had the responsibility to make sure these were safe to enter. I never expected to find my mate ready to attack me.
This is an enemies to lovers, alien warrior, fated mates romance with a HEA.
I loved the whole doomsday basement angle and can imagine that scenario happening in real life. The aliens were easy going and easy to like because they were so calm and accommodating, a nice change from the normal dickish ones. Mandy, I know people like her who are ruled by their tempers. I thought she had ruined her relationship a few times, it got kind of redundant. I'm hoping there's another book coming as I really want to know what happens with the mom.
I like how the author has taken a situation that the main characters have taken as fact, and twist it into a complex situation where nothing is true. She even challenges the fated mates: reality or contrived? I love that she’s given Mandy such a temper and little patience as it causes quite the ruckus. And, there’s enough action to satisfy everyone.
A story very different to any I've read before - a real doomsday write. I found it a wee bit hard to get into at first, but when I did, I enjoyed the story, the direction it took. There were a few things I didn't understand such as not entering the bunker, but still a story I enjoyed.
A whole lot of typos ... almost on every other page it seems like.
Both main characters were prone to jumping to conclusions. I mean like, “leaping tall buildings in a single bound” level of jumping to conclusions. It was really hard to follow their thinking. Example 1: Girl gets cranky after waking up ‘abducted’ by who she presumed are enemies and told she has a scary medical conclusion. Guy wonders if she really is his mate or if it was contrived somehow (governmental conspiracy) even though that’s never happened before in the thousands of years of history of this species, and they don’t even know if the biological triggers can be manipulated. Example 2: Girl wakes up on a soft bed and guy takes her to doctor because she is woozy from him ZAPPING her when she first meets him where she sees her twin brothers shackled to the beds. She accepts that everything she’s been brought up “knowing” about invading aliens isn’t true and that he is her destined mate (not a concept she’d heard of before). There are many other leaps of thought throughout the book.
I just have ZERO clue how these characters think, nor how their relationship “developed” or how they supposedly fell in love.
The sex scenes were as full of holes as the rest of the interactions. When the two main characters first met, the guy was mostly just dirty talking (how he’s going to fill her up with his cockS, etc). Nothing about feelings or developing a relationship, or being partners/mates. Mentally I adjusted: “oh, this is more erotica than romance, ok.” I was wrong. There were a few explicit scenes, but it wasn’t most of the book, and they were not very thorough or descriptive scenes. So ... some raunchy talk, some mediocre sex scenes, and confusing conversations leading to characters feeling terrible and being really rude. Not a romance, not an erotica, ... not sure what it was.
The only thing of interest is the mystery with the underground government stuff. I’m going to read the next book just to find out what’s going on there because it wasn’t just the background of where the girl came from and why she’d think the pink dudes were enemies.
This book is action packed, has fated mates, a happy ever after ending and some very steamy scenes. Mandy has always lived underground, a colony that was sealed off from above 200 years before when aliens invaded. When mandys mum tells her and her brothers they must leave and go topside, they are very reluctant but it’s that or something even worse. As soon as they leave however they run into aliens, they are scared and think they are the enemy. But when Horlas’s mating marks appear when he walks past Mandy, things became difficult to say the least. Horlas not only has to bring Mandy and her brothers up to speed with what’s been going on in the world, he also has to explain to Mandy that she is his mate and they are in fact the good guys.

Needs a heavy edit just for grammar and spelling. Heavy. Then ot needs to explain WHY he doesn't enter the bunker after taking the three that ran out because the ENTIRE story, angst and all, is centered around that. The aliens felt a little too human in their dialog as well. Idk. This book needs help BUT these things are fixable. I hope the author does a rewrite down the road.
Great book. Loved the characters This was a fun short read. I almost didn't read It because I hated the cove I'm looking forward to reading the next book. I'll be fun to see if they find the mother. Hope we get the next in the series soon. There is so many place the story can go
It was a good read. It is hard to get into a pink alien. But once you look past that it flowed okay. She needs to get more outside experience. But I guess if aliens took over our planet things would be different. It had fun, emotions and much more. I received a review copy from story origin and voluntarily review it.
A very interesting enjoyable idea a lead female character with a short temper and attitude and the Admiral of the alien fleet. A well written story fun to read with some nice touches and some heat. I ready like and recommend this author.

This book is recommended for 18+ due to explicit sex scenes.
This was a slightly different take on the alien fated mates than I had read before. Having the female MC come from a culture that didn't like the aliens was an interesting plot point, but I felt that was solved too quickly, resulting in conflict coming directly from their interpersonal relationship. It was an ok read.
I nearly put the book down because Mandy is so immature. I couldn’t understand why she acted like a child with tantrums but she redeemed herself in the end, thankfully.
The ending gave an unexpected surprise

The first book in the Paethian Warrior Mates series a well written story that kept me turning pages. I enjoyed seeing Mandy and Horlas' story come together with its suspense, drama, danger, villains, and romance. I want to read the next book. Mandy and Horlas may have had that love/hate thing going between them but they were made for each other. The connection between them was strong, they were drawn to one another, their chemistry was sexy, they were good together. I enjoyed their story.
Well This had good parts. I liked the world and the Aliens. I felt like the Commander was instant and the human had no time really to get her head around what was happening. The relationship and her accepting her new life happened very quickly I would have liked there to be a bit more fall out or freaking out. I liked the way they lived on the ship and all the science fiction around it. I felt the brothers seemed to disappear and then reappear throughout. It was a good read it just needed a bit more to be great.
Decent plot but I didn't gel with the characters. I think a good editor would improve this book, tightening up those grammatical errors and plot issues.
