After everything that happened in My Fallen Saint, Devlin and Ellie's relationship is stronger than ever. She discovered one of his worst secrets and she remained by his side in the end. However, the mystery of Mr. Saint is far from over. Devlin has made it clear that he has so much more to reveal, but that he'll be keeping his secrets close to the vest. And while Ellie tries to let it go, to be happy with the status quo, she's a reporter and answers are her bread and butter. Not to mention there is someone out there determined to drive a wedge between the lovebirds... someone who seems to know all of Devlin's secrets.

I must say, for someone who used to be a cop and is now a journalist, Ellie isn't very good at observing things. I figured out the intricacies of Devlin's world and I was wondering what was taking her so long to figure things out. I'm still not very impressed by this heroine, but the fact that the author finally gifted us with Devlin's perspective more than made up for any lack on Ellie's part. Yay for Devlin's POV!! His voice gave his character the dimension it was missing in the first book and made me absolutely fall in love with this story. The fact that I'm finally getting to know all there is to know about this man (I think) only makes me want more. Of him, of Ellie, of their love, and just what will happen next. I'm ready!!

We're back with Ellie and Devlin.
This book starts basically right the minute we left them in the first book.
Remember? They're in bed and Ellie just received that weird little text warning her ... about who Devlin really is? To stop her research? Or something more personal?
We'll find out. And our darlings will argue a lot about who will be finding out. Ellie the reporter or Devlin the rich guy with connections everywhere.
Plus there are still some secrets that Devlin is not sharing. He says it's too dangerous and she will definitely leave him if she finds out.

What will happen with Devlin & Ellie?
Will there be a happily ever after?
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT! ☺

Book 2!
Yay.

Due to my massive bookalzheimer brain, I did a re-read of the first book a few days before starting this. I realized I remembered most of it anyway. AND - Julie explains a lot during the first part of this second book. Which is super cool for readers who haven't read the first book or are even worse with their bookalzheimers than I am ... but for me it was a bit too much - because I had just read it. I can also imagine if readers wait until all three books are out ... they might be a bit bothered too.
But anyway. Now we definitely know what happened in book #1. ☺
Let's start with the second book.
Which is just as sexy and mysterious and suspensy/dangerous as the first one.
We need to find out who the text-sender is and if he's a bad guy trying to do harm, or if he's just worried about Ellie?
And Ellie is still trying to figure out what happened to her uncle. Or rather why he became a criminal and what all happened back then.

Lots of mysteries still to be solved and lots of personal, relationship and friendship problems to overcome for our darlings.
And we still get a third book. Jeez! But don't worry, this second book doesn't end in a bad cliff-hanging cliffhanger. It's very exciting and open, but nobody is about to die or anything like that - also ... the actual cliffhanging might've happened earlier in this book already. LOL!

I really enjoyed reading this second book. Like book one it's again so full of all the things!
Very sexy, mysterious, dangerous, exciting!
Julie wrote a really great new series ... a really worthy Stark competition!!! Even though I sometimes got some Damien flashes while reading about Devlin. But that's totally ok. They're both just totally our type! ☺

I can't wait to see where this story will take us in the final book.
And can someone please get Netflix on the phone for this already!!??

MY BEAUTIFUL SIN was another mysterious and sexy book in this beautiful new romantic suspense series! Run to your nearest amazon for your own Devlin - this one is MINE! ☺

I really like that we got some quality time with Devlin and Ellie as a couple in book 2. Now that Devlin had decided he can’t live with out her, we see more of these two side by side against the danger.

You don’t really know if the danger is about Ellie stirring up the past or that it’s made public that she is dating Devlin. You also get a sense of an enemy from within.

I had it narrowed down to two possible people and was a bit surprised by how book 2 ended. I like that it wasn’t completely predictable.

I am very curious how Devlin and Ellie are going to handle the new hurdle for book 3. I have a feeling of how such a secret came to light and I’m anxious to see if I’m right.

ARC received from the author

Well, at the end of the previous book My Fallen Saint we see Devlin and Ellie with a happily ever after...for now.

There are strange text messages, cars trying to run people over, a mysterious writer, friends who maybe aren't friends. There's lot of back and forth, yes we're together, no maybe we aren't, yes I love you, maybe it's not the right time. Plus more digging into her uncle's past.

Again we end with a happily ever after which was more that the last book, but that epilogue...

5 Star Review of My Beautiful Sin (Fallen Saint #2) by J Kenner
It was good to be back with Devlin Saint and Ellie Holmes. As I have come to expect from Ms. Kenner the writing was strong and the story she wove, drew me in and kept me riveted from the first to the last chapter. Firstly if you haven’t read Fallen Saint then STOP, you need to read that first.
I fell hard and fast for Devlin Saint (I just love the name), he ticked all the boxes for me. He is a man who cares deeply and has fallen for Ellie. Just when I thought that they would finally get the happily ever after that they deserve J.Kenner throws in twists and turns that had me captivated and on the edge of my seat whilst reading.
Ellie does not know all the secrets that Devlin holds close, in fact he doesn’t know how she will react, so he believes that there is no reason for her to learn the whole truth.
There was plenty of steam, suspense, drama and intrigue throughout this story as the journey Devlin and Ellie are on push their relationship to the limits. Will Ellie’s life be in danger thanks to her involvement with Devlin and her determination to solve the mystery of her uncle’s death?

DNF 41%. An interesting, ruthless love interest from the first book turns into a lifeless, sappy bore in this book. The suspense element that I skimmed through in the first book becomes the main drive in this one. I tried to keep interested but it never picked up.

Another winner for us in this ongoing series. This story was filled with heart and soul and emotion. The characters were wonderful and a swoon-worthy character like Devilin and his alpha ways. What's not to love?

Secrets and pain and hurt and a mystery waiting to been solved and clues hidden in plain sight. I loved that Devlin finally accepted that the fact that he and Ellie were meant to together no matter the risk come what may. I loved that even though he still had secrets that he held close to his vest that he wasn't ready to reveal Ellie still chose to stand by him because look at the spiral her life took on before without him. Love just hurts sometimes in a perfect world it wouldn't. From the moment we started turning the pages we were engaged and loving its characters. The mysteries the suspense, the secrets, the danger, and when someone tells you to that digging into the past is best kept leaving it there only hinting its only goings to cause more pain.

We loved Ellie and Devil as a couple they were far from perfect their relationship messy but, their love for one another clearly evident combined with all of those hot and sexy scenes that this author is clearly known for us to enjoy.

Ellie still digging into the past not wanting to let go of finding out about her Uncle's past and why he turned into a criminal remains to be seen. We were hooked from the moment we started turning the pages and stayed engrossed in those pages to the bitter end. The more books I read by this author the more I fall harder in love with her works. For Ellie being an ex-cop turned journalist brings to mind the saying sometimes we never see what is in right and front and with a crazy on the loose with their cryptic messages makes you wonder is their love strong enough to pass the test?

4.25 stars-- MY BEAUTIFUL SIN is the second instalment in J. Kenner’s contemporary, adult FALLEN SAINT erotic, romantic suspense trilogy focusing on former police officer turned investigative journalist Ellie Holmes, and billionaire investor Devlin Saint. MY BEAUTIFUL SIN should not be read as a stand alone as if picks up after the events of book one MY FALLEN SAINT.

SOME BACKGROUND: Ten years after the death of her uncle Peter, former police officer turned investigative journalist Ellie Holmes returns to her home town of Laguna Cortez when the police reopen the investigation into her uncle’s murder, a return that brings Ellie face to face with her past, Alex Leto, now known as billionaire philanthropist/ investor Devlin Saint, the man who broke our heroine’s heart.

Told from first person perspective (Ellie Holmes), and third person (Devlin Saint) MY BEAUTIFUL SIN follows the rebuilding romance and relationship between former police officer turned investigative journalist Ellie Holmes, and billionaire investor / philanthropist Devlin Saint. Devlin Saint has never stopped loving our story line heroine but Devlin’s previous life was a threat to the woman he loved, so he walked away, leaving Ellie broken and destroyed. Rescuing women and children from sexual slavery is only the tip of the proverbial iceberg for our story line hero but Devlin is keeping many secrets, that if revealed, will threaten his relationship with the woman he loves. As Ellie continues to push forward, not only with the investigation into her uncle’s murder, more skeletons are revealed, including the truth behind her mother’s death, a series of unsolved murders, and the people responsible for destroying her life.

Meanwhile, Devlin struggles to protect the woman he loves while dealing with the fall-out of business dealings in Las Vegas, Nevada, leaving his friend Ronan, and most trust worthy associates to keep an eye on our story line heroine. Someone has targeted Ellie Holmes, and in this, Ellie is a little TSTL (too stupid to live) when it comes to her own safety and life, continuing to uncover that which wants to remain unknown. As the relationship between Devlin and Ellie heats up, Ellie’s best friend and roommate Brandy begins to fall for writer Christopher Doyle, a man who seems too good to be true.

MY BEAUTIFUL SIN is a story of second chances; betrayal and vengeance; secrets and lies. J. Kenner pulls the reader into a tale of friendships, relationships, family and love; unmasking, revelations, confessions and fraud. The premise is intriguing and decadent ; romance is spicy, erotic and provocative; the characters are edgy and dynamic. MY BEAUTIFUL SIN ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.

I fall more and more over Devlin Saint....however you come to find out more of the secrets and there a lot that gets unravel. Have you ever met a Saint in disguise? Well you have him front and center!

Ellie isn’t off the hook either. She has secrets of her own and when they collide with the present, can she and Saint ever get to be free? The story has a slow build up, but you have to be patient because before you know you will be hit with angst and a bit of danger. The ending surprised me. I couldn’t see how it was leading up to the next book, and then you get hit with another scandal!!! I loved it.

My Beautiful Sin is a story that mixes light with the dark. Love over everything else. And a man trying to pay for his sins while they keep stacking up!

My heart hurts for these two characters!
After the edgy cliffhanger of the first book in the series, My beautiful sin carries on with the twists and angsty moments that kept me guessing and even doubting myself for all the theories that I had about how and why and who would want to destroy this beautiful second chance romance and even if I got a few answers, I need the next book ASAP because my heart is broken for Devlin and Ellie and only their happily ever after can mend it.
A must read romantic suspense of the year.

"The angst, the mystery, the suspense that keeps you on the edge of your seat. So many unanswered questions, even with a few more answers from the first book, there is so much more that needs to be fleshed out. Add to that the secrets Devlin is still keeping from Ellie, their relationship, a whole lot of uncertainty with futures hanging in the balance, the supporting characters and their connections that lead to more eye-opening revelations and add pieces to the puzzle.
I cannot wait for the conclusion in My Cruel Salvation!

M/F Romance

This is the second installment of the series. You need to read book one first, because this book begins where book one left off.

We get to see Devlin try and figure out if his secrets are going to be too much for Ellie to handle. He's juggling his present, the future, and his past, but when things start to collide, Devlin will have to hope that everything doesn't fall apart.

Ellie is hot on the trail of her uncle's past, as well as a potential new story of who might be the vigilante taking out the worst of the worst. Ellie loves Devlin with everything she is, but the questions that she is asking about her uncle, she knows some of them might hurt Devlin. Despite knowing that, Ellie isn't quite ready to quit her digging.

As things heat up for Ellie, Devlin and his crew have to decide if they can truly trust Ellie and her crew. Pieces are put in place for Ellie, but more questions are revealed. Someone is sabotaging them and it's a race to figure out who.

This book will be just as fast-paced as the first one and again, Kenner sucks you in and doesn't let go. Will Ellie and Devlin's connection hold everything together or blast them apart? I can't wait for the next installation, as this book leaves several unanswered questions.

This is the second book in the series, and there is no question at all that you must read book one to get to grips with what is happening here.

Ellie is having quite a hard time coming to terms with her head and her heart where Devlin is concerned because the revelations keep coming. Overall though, one gets the feeling that the blows can keep coming, but they will sort it out, because their history and the trust they have is deep set. That said, the tension is high and they both are feeling the vulnerability of love.

I enjoyed the side characters a lot, and they enable us to see the less biased side of some of the incidents, which is valuable as passions rise.

This is a classic, intense, passionate, and complicated story from J. Kenner, and I am loving it – roll on the next installment!

J. Kenner always brings an interesting and fascinating mix of action, suspense and romance in her stories. My Beautiful Sin is deliciously dirty and seductive with complex emotions and layered characters. And of course, one of the best ever alpha hero!

Ex cop and presently reporter Ellie has reunited with her childhood love and her soulmate after so many years. That man has a new identity now as Devlin Saint. The enigmatic billionaire and philanthropist. But his past is full of dark secrets those never stop coming out. Will they have a future beyond all doubts? Ellie is investigating her uncle's life and many other related cases those put her directly in path of uncovering all of Devlin's secrets..but does she want that?

I had a bit difficulty with this story as I felt there is too much suspense and mystery about everything. And that was diluting the romance. Devlin and Ellie were busy tackling and manoeuvring the twists being thrown at their lives. Devlin's foundation, his business, his past, the social medias, the unknown person threatening Ellie, her newspaper works, her uncle- so much was going on. And I felt the couple didn't have enough time together. There was passion and emotions..definitely. There were fleeting chapters of brilliance where I could experience their connection. But I wanted more. Devlin was the epitome of alpha beauty with arrogance, confidence and ragged edges. And Ellie was the sassy and sweet woman with craving for danger and unputdownable spirits. The story line is really complex. And you need to stay alert.

If you love an explosive romance with good amount of suspense and thriller like feel, My Beautiful Sin by J. Kenner is for you.

Mystery, secrets & revelations ... enthralling

MY BEAUTIFUL SIN
, book #2 in J. Kenner's FALLEN SAINT Series. If you have not read book #1, Fallen Saint, DO NOT PROCEED ANY FURTHER. These are not standalones and must be read in order to fully appreciate the story of Devlin Saint and Ellie Holmes.

Mystery, secrets, drama, action, betrayals, suspense, twists and turns, love and passion ... Julie Kenner brings it all, ensuring this is an UNPUTDOWNABLE book. Devlin and Ellie have found each other again, but how long can their happiness last? Devlin is still hiding dark secrets of his life from Ellie, and she is determined to know what they are. If the secrets are unraveled, will Devlin lose Ellie forever?

Threats to Ellie ensure that Devlin's true feeling are made known, but will these threats tear them apart? Ellie's a reporter and she will continue to dig until she has all her answers - no matter the consequences. Whatever secrets are between them, one thing is always ensured ... their heat, chemistry and passion continues to register off the charts.

One thing that I really loved about this book was that Ms. Kenner provided Devlin's POV. I really felt that this was missing from book #1, and it added so much more to this one. The intricacies of Devlin's life become more apparent. Learning more about his past, his thoughts and his emotions enabled the reader to learn more about this enigmatic man.

I cannot wait to read book #3, My Cruel Salvation, especially after what occurred during the Epilogue. Another superb read from J. Kenner.

My Beautiful Sin picks up right where things ended in My Fallen Saint. While Ellie has discovered some information about Devlin’s past there are still many secrets and unknown things about the man.

I loved that despite everything Ellie and Devlin’s relationship continues to progress and they continue to grow stronger together. But there is also still that factor of Ellie wanting to know more and find out everything she can about Devlin and his secrets that he is staying quiet about for now. I loved that this story did include more of the two working together.

While some things have been answered many more questions have been raised and I’m dying to see how Ellie and Devlin’s story concludes in book three, especially after that ending!

If you’re looking for a new romantic suspense series this is on to check out, but make sure you start with My Fallen Saint!

This is Book 2 in Devlin and Ellie’s story and it just keeps getting better! I love this story and I appreciate so much how this book literally picks up right where the first one left off. It doesn’t skip a beat and sucks you right back in immediately! The danger, intrigue, romance and passion all blend together into a smooth story that has had me hooked from the beginning. It would seem like Devlin and Ellie are meant to be but can it last? Will the secrets he has still been keeping finally be the breaking point for them? I can’t seem to get enough of this couple! Can’t wait for more and to see what is still to come!

3.5 stars ... So many things going on. Sometimes I felt
A little Lost ...

Devlin and El don’t really excite me, i hate to say it but I don’t feel that special spark but I did grow to become fonder and I feel the further in this story I got the more and the more drawn in I got the connection grows on me.

when I hit 35% I found I couldn’t read quick enough ...
What are the secrets he’s keeping ?
There’s just this urgency to know more and the story becomes so much more than just about Devlin and Els romance.

I do look forward to how the story will end up though...

8We meet Alex (Devlin) and Ellie in the previous book. They were able to get their second chance at love. Poor Alex had to leave her to save her life in the past. He had to kill Alex off and start a new life. Ellie had to decide whether she could forgive him for leaving her plus his sins.

I'm hoping she is able to mature in this book and not flip flop like she did in the previous book.

This book can be read as a standalone. She gives you enough information to understand what happened previously. This series I find it missing our natural J. Kenner flare. Either I'm missing the erotic sex or maybe its needs a little for action. I find myself not being able to focus on it. Usually I can read a J. Kenner book in one sitting this series i can't. Towards the end it does get better. You find yourself wondering who is the bad guy then shocked when you find out.

I'm still thankful to be able to recieve this book in an exchange for a honest review.

Devin's all in finally. He's got his love back and this time he's not letting her go.
"His El. His love. His light."
He's still holding secrets, though, and Ellie's naturally nosey nature is going to have her searching for answers. Will what she finds have her running from him? Or will she realize that their love is strong enough to keep them anchored, even through the storm that is sure to come?

Finally, Ellie and Devlin settle into actual couplehood here in My Beautiful Sin, and I loved reading as they solidified their bond. Of course, things weren't necessarily easy for them, as Devlin's secrets came back to bite him in the butt. I like the way the story is heading, and that the chemistry between them is stronger than ever. There isn't a cliffhanger per se this time, but their story is definitely not finished, and I cannot wait for their conclusion in My Cruel Salvation.

Ohhh i was so exited to read this book after reading book one I fell in love with characters in book one and as there’s only a few main characters I feel like the books about all of them not just a couple and you get to know all the characters which I’ve really enjoyed in this book.

Devlin is happy so happy he has got back the missing piece of his heart but how long for?? Will El be ok with not knowing all his secrets?

Ellie is so happy so what Devlin has secrets that doesn’t matter she’s got her man back so that’s all that matters isn’t it?

Brandy is always there for Ellie they are the best friends anyone could ask for is it time for Brandy to get some happiness in her love life?

Lamar only has Ellie’s happiness in his thoughts and now she’s back with Devlin can he get past that and keep his friendship with Elle going strong?

All this storyline and then the past rearing it’s ugly head the whole way through this book I loved it loads of twists and turns and shocks I can’t wait for book 3.
