Rate this book
When a Shaw falls in love, win or lose, it's forever! Nathaniel Shaw's first assignment on his own, to prove his leadership skills, was frustrating him at every turn. No matter the cost, he had to make this job a successful one. He could not return to Ellis Manor as a failure. As Nate battles the odds stacked against him, to turn Nettlesville into a thriving seaside port village, his heart falls for the mysterious young woman in his work crew. As he unravels the secrets around her, Nate will face the biggest battle of his life. Unlike his older brothers, Nate is not a knight. He has much to learn about sword fighting. Will his greatest stand for Nettlesville cost him everything? Will he lose the village, the woman he loves, and even his own life to his family's long-time enemy? Olivia did not realize that being a part of this work crew would be as dangerous as it was, until it was too late. She struggled to keep her identity hidden from everyone, especially her work crew leader, Nathaniel Shaw. Being near Nate defied everything her family had taught her. It had been drilled into her since childhood that the Shaw family was the enemy. She soon learns that the quiet Nate Shaw had a helpless romantic side. All Shaw men were dangerous, but this side of Nate made him the most dangerous of them all. Could she dare to take a stand and fight against her own brother? Couls she tell her brother, and shout to the world, that she had fallen for her enemy? Don't wait! Get your copy of Falling for the Enemy, Book Two in the ♥ For the Love of a Shaw ♥ series today! I am absolutely loving the For the Love of a Shaw series. I find myself getting lost in the story. Ms. Hyde has a wonderful gift of being able to make the characters come alive in her books. There are several factors that make a great book great, and for me one of the key factors is can I visualize each character, and with this series I can. I find myself wanting to know more about the story and each character, even the villains. I want to know why the villains are the villains, are they purely evil, or is there something more. I love how excited the story makes me feel, and the happiness I get reading about the love, loyalty, and bond shared between family, and friends who are family. Simply put I LOVE THIS SERIES!!!!

I liked the Mystery in Nate and Olivia’s story. There are some great moments, and Olivia is not just the damsel in distress.

A nicely written and feel-good Georgian romance, that leaves you with a warm feeling at the end. And since it’s part of a series, there is more to come. Continuing the exploits of Nathaniel Shaw, some familiar characters appear, his brothers, Maxx, the Raven, and now Olivia Holden, sister of his mortal enemy. I like this series. The books are easy to read, the prose flows freely and the plots are engaging. I do enjoy the distinction between good and evil and how it plays out in the book as the two main characters come to terms with it and themselves. If you want an enjoyable read, then these ones are for you. I look forward to the next book.

I must say that Nate really surprised me! This book was just as wonderful as the first one was. I loved that Olivia wasn't a push over and she could stand up for herself. I do not like her brother!!! I cheered for Nate and Olivia through the entire book!!

I had the pleasure of listening to the audiobook version of Falling for the Enemy, and the narrator’s pleasant English accent truly brought the story to life.

Liv is a breath of fresh air—a feisty, spunky heroine who refuses to be a background piece in her own story. Writing strong female leads in historical settings can be tricky, but Debbie Hyde does a remarkable job making Liv both authentic to the time period and fiercely independent. Her sword-wielding skills? Absolutely one of my favorite parts!

Like Book 1, this novel is packed with unexpected twists that keep you hooked. Nate is a strong, honorable hero who cares deeply for his crew and, of course, for Liv. Their love story unfolds naturally, making it easy to root for them from the very start.

And once again, Maxx steals the show! He’s the kind of character who demands his own book, and I’d love to see him take center stage.

While this is the second book in a series, it stands alone beautifully. If you love adventure, romance, history, and witty banter, this book is definitely worth picking up! I think this might just my favorite one.

Let's dive right in shall we???!!!!
This is the second Shaw series book, and be prepared for this one to not collect any dust!! I read this one twice as fast, as I couldn't put it down!! The way they met!! The disguises used!! The tiny fibs just to get by!!! Uhh!!! And then there's the whole pirate ship vibe!! It's a good thing for strong captains and a crew that backs you up!! Family's tie into each other in very unique ways as they cross paths then become entwined. What an excellent series I started when I picked up the first Shaw book. Don't wait another minute to start! Debbie Hyde will have you reading her books well into summer beach weather!!

Perfect

Even better than book one. Who doesn’t love a good falling in love with the enemy? Especially when it’s real love and not that Stockholm syndrome other books try to pass off as enemies to lovers trope. This was perfect. No bag guy kidnapped the heroine to later fall in love. This was a true enemies to lovers story, and it was beautiful. Which Shaw is next? Can’t wait.

Debbie Hyde never disappoints. You get so wrapped up in the story that you forget you are reading a book because you feel like you are part of the story. If you like sweet romance mixed with a little mystery and humor then you will love this series. I would recommend this book to anyone.

Nathaniel Shaw is a man on a mission that could cost him his life. As he battles for survival, he soon realizes he's in over his head and must depend on others to help. He gets help from someone he never dreams that would help him. Sometimes God puts people in our lives to help us and be a blessing we never knew we needed.

Olivia Holden also has a mission that could take her life. She has a big secret that could cost her whole work crew's lives. Although keeping secrets is never a good idea, some secrets are necessary for survival. I think God understands and forgives these kinds of secrets.

Nate's brother's best friend Maxx is my favorite character in the story. He's a goofball with a heart of gold who would go to any length to protect the people he loves most. He is a total sweetheart.

To find out more about Nate's and Olivia's missions, and if Olivia's secret is revealed and what it is- you have to read the book. Happy Reading.

Once again Debbie Hyde has outdone herself with the characters she has created. I love the description of each and everyone of them and how they interact with each other. This is a winner of a series

I know this is widely considered a historical romance, but I consider it a mystery too. The worldbuilding and character relationships were excellent as always, and I can't wait to get to the rest of the series.

A love despite all odds

This was truly an amazing story of Nate and Olivia's love for each other. The small island of Nettlesville making it possible for their love to grow. Once again, the mysterious feisty Max is in the midst of it all. The little sword fighting Olivia will fascinate you. The notorious Roger Holden strikes again, not once , but 4 times! Killing one in the process of one of his cruel attacks. You will learn priates are not always bad. I loved this story. The characters felt like family to me. This story is a must read!
