Computer Aided Design in Composite Material Technology: Proceedings of the International Conference, Southampton, 1988

Rate this book
From the text : The Conference aims to achieve a critical assessment and enhancement of the applications of computer aided engineering techniques in composite materials and structures. The advantages of computer aided systems in the field of composite materials are now widely recognised and are being used increasingly, not only at the analysis and design stage, but also in characterization and controlling the manufacturing processes. Recent advances in graphic displays enable computer simulation of the various processes of component manufacture to be studied and analysed at an early stage. The rapid development of computer hardware resulting in a new breed of powerful, inexpensive computers and the corresponding development of software have provided new techniques for the design of composite materials. This meeting will focus on the use of computers in analysis, design and manufacture of composites and structures. It will also cover topics such as simulation of manufacturing processes.
