All That for a B-School?! by Swapnil Paranjape, Prajakta Sinai is a romance novel? Maybe. A reflection of so many of us? Definitely.
We see our main protagonist, Mandar Vartak who wishes to go to a well known B-School and pursue a MBA himself. He had his life planned out since he was in school. High Grades, Intelligence with good looks, a nice girlfriend and a loving family. But well, when does life goes according to the plan right?
The book shows us some amazing aspects like friendship, love, family bonding, success and failures, adulting and taking responsibilities and much more. I wished to read more perspective from his girlfriend and family members. A very simple yet flavorful story.
The book definitely came to me at the right time, because well just like Mandar even I was/am at a stage where I think "I am 24 but have achieved nothing". So to all those dreamers out there, life comes with ups and downs, but what matters is consistency as well as smart work to convert those dreams into goals.
This book is relatable for so many reasons on so many levels that I'm afraid I won't be able to share. The relationships and the people described in the books are very real, too real sometimes. One thing that came to my mind while I was reading this book that it had a change in tone and momentum in very chapter. It seemed offbeat in the beginning but it made me realize that that's how life is! Everyday is different, the vibe is different and path taken by a person to tackle the same set of problems is different. We need more stories like this. Hope others will benefit from it too and the author will keep on writing more such stories.
Kudos to Mandar for thriving!
PS - Namita was a great character, I wish we could see more of her.
We grow up with dreams in our tiny eyes. We grow up with ambitions and desires to achieve something significant. We make plans but do our lives abide by those plans? In the mad race of the world, we might leave behind our 'dreams' and one day, it strikes us. We're X year old already and haven't achieved anything! Sounds like a bolt from the blue and happens to be a true story for most of us.
All That for a B-School?! by Swapnil Paranjape and Prajakta Sinai is a story of Mandar who is confused at an age of 24 about what he wants to do in life. Due to an unsatisfying job, Mandar decides to quit and prepare for CAT to do his MBA. This book pretty much traces his journey of preparing for one of the toughest examinations and getting into a decent B-school. Alongside this, the book also sheds light on his personal life that revolves around his family and girlfriend of 6 years, Isha.
All That for a B-School?! is a relatable story of a young man trying to figure out his way in life. A lot of readers would be able to empathise with his story, especially the B-school aspirants, and connect with his journey. Getting into a top B-school is a tough process but the one one that makes you a different person altogether at the end of the tunnel. Apart from this, the story explores the fragile relationship dynamics of a young couple, Mandar and Isha, and also touches upon the quintessential relation of friendship. Not to mention, the story is fun, quirky, and performs well in terms of portraying the chasm between dreams and reality. Because, that, my friend, is life.
The writing style is simple and intriguing. It feels as if the protagonist is speaking our mind or is talking to us. There are punches pf philosophy here and there that add to the overall appeal to this contemporary tale of ambitions, love, and family. By the end, we realise that Mandar's ordeal was not to get into a B-School. Rather it was the one for teaching him about life. Do go ahead if you want a breezy read with fairly good storytelling.

#Insight: A simple yet captivating story of a young man, that everyone can relate to. A story that encompasses dreams, career, long-distance relationship, break-up, grieving, healing, friendship, and above all family. The first person narration makes the story more relatable and creates a sense of intimacy for the character.
#Review: "All That for a B- School" is a breezy yet emotional read that the youngsters can relate to. Even after having a promising job in the biotechnology field, the protagonist, Mandar Vartak dreams of something big for a more secured and better lifestyle for himself and his girlfriend. He had everything sorted i.e admission in a reputed B-School, a good job with a handsome salary and a peaceful life with his girlfriend Isha, who was pursuing her PhD in New Zealand. It was during this one year of preparation, that the story takes a back track and everything goes haywire. The story revolves around the struggle of a long-distance relationship and the struggle to perform well for the MBA competitive exams. The author is very articulate in expressing the struggles of his mind. The characters that the author choose to introduce are very genuine and relatable. The book will definitely motivate you to never give up, no matter what. The story will leave you with plenty of food for thought. Though the story does not provide any newness or freshness to the genre, the writing style of the author will keep you hooked. The story comes out to be honest and original.
#Strength: The narration of the story is impressive. The writing style is lucid.
#Weakness: The cover of the book could have been better.
#Target audience: Young adults to adults and everyone who is looking for some dose of motivation in their life.
The boom surely does have catchy and colourful cover that immediately attracts the reader. I will briefly summarise the blurb that way a reader can get idea about the book. Mandar is the protagonist of the story. The story revolves around his early life. Mandar was preparing for his CAT exams. Major plot of the story revolves around that. Isha is his girlfriend or we can say long distance girlfriend. In his family, he has Aai, Baba and brother and his wife. As we all know entrance exam and it’s rank is the most awaited result and the most important aspect of a middle class student’s life. I like how stress of exam impacted on the relationship of Mandar and Isha. That fight description is too realistic. That sentence or realisation about “25 and have achieved nothing” really stuck me or it was the most impactful sentence and thought. Because in family and societal pressure, majority of youth feels the same way. I like how author has described the love of Mumbaikars for Mumbai. And the Mumbai Pune life description. I liked how author has portrayed friendship. Author has described the story in well elaborated manner. That Hindi and Marathi tinge in conversation is cute and makes the story realistic. The language of the book is lucid. My favourite part was the paragraph named “Bougainvillaea” and the last “Happily ever after?, Nah? That was something different and unexpected for me. It’s simple and easy read that anyone especially students and teenagers can pick it. Overall good one.
Everyone of us always dream of a picture perfect life and it's not necessary that we craft our life in the way we imagine. Change is constant and something life takes a turn to a better path or sometimes the completely opposite. . . So let's meet the protagonist Mandar. The story basically deals about the choices and confusions we go through and is it always the right decision we make. Mandar left his job to pursue MBA. His relationship with his long distant girlfriend sores as they were facing difficulties. Now amid the pressure of entrance and all the fuss going on in his life did he finally manage to come out of it and achieve his dreams? . . I really loved this book and the way the authors have crafted the story is really great. This book really made me learn about many things from taking decisions to manage relationships. Go for it.
Mandar Vartak had always lived the life he wished for since childhood. He was successful in his studies and landed up in a big biotech company. But his heart always wanted to pursue MBA.Hence,he decides to quit his job and prepare for his entrance exam so that he ends up in a reputed university .
He was into self preparation,And we as upsc aspirants sure do know the kind of stress involved in preparing for a competitive exam don’t we.While this battle was one part of his life,There was another which made things worse.
His Girlfriend was doing PhD from a university in New Zealand .The distance made things worse between them and long distance was not in their favour.Things was slowly fading away between them this made him feel more depressed.
Does Mandar turn out to be successful in his life? Does he make it to the B-School??
25 and achieved nothing? If the answer is yes, then this book is a must read for you. Mandar Vartak, the protagonist, is a young boy of 25. He leaves his job and start preparing for CAT exam so that he can pursue his dream of doing MBA. Juggling between his studies and his long distance love Isha, he is also trying to make his way to his dreams through all the family and societal pressure.
"All that for a B school" is about all the heat around entrance exam, result, family, career, love life, and most importantly - failure and success.
This book is a very simple and pleasant read. The plot is finely diced into some interesting scenes in cities of Mumbai and Pune. The author has also used Marathi and Hindi for a realistic touch. The commotion of Mumbai city, as described in the book, fits perfectly with the idea of chaos in Mandar's personal life. Author has done a great job with the characters also. None of the characters is half described.
"All That for a B-School" is Mandar Vartak's journey to get into a good B-School. I was expecting it to be a cliché romance-breakup story. But nothing could have prepared me for the roller-coaster ride that it was. The book was exactly what its title represents. It is about all the ups and downs of an Indian middle-class student's life, who just wants to get into a good college and settle with a good job.
The story is no fiction. It is the reality of thousands of students appearing for competitive exams every year. The fears and apprehensions faced by someone sitting at home and preparing for one of the most competitive exams are presented really well. Add to the fears the struggles of maintaining a long-distance relationship and dealing with family problems.
While reading this story, I almost felt like my discussions with my best friend has been written in a book. The book had everything that I had talked about with my friend in the last year—the struggles of most of the competitive exams of India, difficulty in studying, issues faced during online exams, family issues, and long-distance relationship struggles.
I noticed some inconsistencies in capitalisation and the UK and US style of writing. The end seemed to be a little dragged-out and could have been made more crisp.
A person faces all the struggles to get into a good college, but then what? Is it the end? Good college and then a good job? Is that the end of all the struggles of someone's life? No. And the ending of the book justifies it.
The book is an eye-opener and a message to all the students. Despite the fact that the exams are tough and obviously very important, it is not everything. So, do not get disappointed with initial failures and rejections. There is much more to look forward to in your life. The happiness that you are looking for in terms of getting your dream college or dream job, is a myth. Happiness is not a destination, it is a part of the journey.
Just like Elbert Hubbard said, "Don’t take life too seriously. You’ll never get out of it alive."
I highly recommend this book to all those going through a similar phase of life. Seeing your own story as a spectator will definitely give you some perspective towards life.
A very easy read, All That For A B-School (ATFAB) is a window into a crucial phase of life of Mandar Vartak, an MBA aspirant. Throughout the book, the author of explores the relationships of Mandar with those around him and his journey to the gates of a B-school. While Mandar is the protagonist, almost all characters in the book are well fleshed-out and I didn't feel they are there just for the sake of it. I know the author personally, so the perspectives laid out in the book felt very genuine. The conversations Mandar has with people don't feel superficial or filmy. For a debut novel, the author shows impressive storytelling skills and doesn't stretch sequences more than he should. Overall, a good read and would like to read more from Swapnil. My vested interest would be in a sequel to the book, since we both went to the same B-school!
Life is everything but a bed of roses. It has its own set of pros and cons. There is nothing called 'picture perfect'. Perfection is an illusion and the story of Mandar Vertek reflects the same. Just another 25 year old. He used to believe in his 'perfect' status. Supportive family, great 6 year long relationship, good grades and overall a protected happy life. But as they say, good things don't last forever.
● What happens when life hits him hard ?
● What happens when has been jerked awake to reality, by a unraveling of a relationship that he previously thought to be straight out of a Mills and Boon production?
● What happens when his illustration of perfect life is crushed down?
'All that for a B school !?!' by Swapnil Paranjape and Prajakta Sinai is a story that revolves around the life of a male protagonist 'Mander Vertek' a well established employee in a reputed biotechnology company, who leaves his job behind to tame his passion. What is his passion?.. not really sure. Without further ado he decided to pursue a MBA degree and his journey of the essential crisis of a never-ending gap between dreams and reality only growing wider, starts from here.
All together, this has been a highly thought provoking read for me after a really long time. The story deals with various topics of the protagonist's life starting from the struggle as he tries to balance his stress preparing for tough exams to ensure a good B- School to the challenges he faces in his personal life and in between how life matures him.
Without much twist and turns this book beautifully showcases the true meaning of happiness and a pinch of heartbreaking romance takes the book a few notches higher. The excerpts from Greek mythology are really enlightening.
The emotion can be felt through the pages. This book successfully gives you a tour of life and it's uncertainties. First 2 chapters might be a bit boring but once the book starts to take its pace, you'll definitely get hooked. However, I felt it was a bit too descriptive and the detailing can be toned down a bit. The side characters could have developed more.
Nonetheless, the fun, quirky way of storytelling surely steals the show. The message in the end is encouraging and appreciable. I highly recommend this book.
•QUOTES I LIKED• "Life happens when you are busy making other plans."
"If I can’t shape my own destiny, how can I even begin to think of shaping someone else’s with my own."
"In a person, you can’t take only what you like, only what is convenient. You’ve got to accept the entire package. But my experience tells me that not everyone understands this. I sigh again."
•REVIEW• This book can be quite relatable to many people in differentn senses. Every person faces these challenges in one way or the other. It kept me interested even though I could predict what could be next. The language is quite normal, easy to read. I really like the aptness of the title of the book. Towards the end it makes total sense and it makes the reader think whether all the efforts were necessary. Also Mandar was struggling with the thought of acceptance of God, which I believe a lot of us teens and adults do too.
•SYNOPSIS• It is a story of a boy, Mandar, who has graduated with a Biotech degree and is lookung forward to getting into a renowned B-school. He is in love with a girl from the same college, Isha, who has moved to New Zealand to do her PHd. Eventually their relationships begins to dwindle and it falls apart. Isha breaks up with Mandar and he was totally lost. Having a lot of burden of his upcoming examinations and the result of ones he had given along with the depressing question "what am I doing with my life?" it definitely wasn't easy to go through a breakup. He tries to move on and find a job. He gets a job in sales but isn't really motivated to do it because it was practically impractical. So he leaves the job and had scored good in his CMAT exam. He got into GIM and was happy with this. Still he had all the thoughts and memories that kept coming back. In the end Mandar and his friends go on a trip to his native town. He feels peaceful but not yet happy. While talking to his friend Kartik that night, he concludes that the past has to be left there and one has to get up each time he/she falls.

🎯 Have you ever thought about your purpose in life? The story is about Mandar Vartak, a Biotech post grad who seems to have been reckless enough to give up the job with one of the bigger names in the Pharma Industry. This decision came about a couple of months back when he realized that this was not the dream, he is not earning much & he is not happy as much.
🎯 He wants to get management degree, a decision taken by Isha, her girlfriend and him together. She lives in New Zealand doing her Ph.D. After coming home, he started his preparations in earnest & planned his subjects and weak links. But after so many efforts to be on track, he have been failing at executing his plans due to inability to be focused. His plan is failing - a top B-school and then off to New Zealand to be with Isha.
🎯 Much is going on in his life, his nephew Shlok isn't in good health & recommended for surgery and his Aatya has been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. He began to feel frustrated, angry and depressed that results in constant fights with Isha, during their video calls. In one of their fights, he decided to take a break from their talking as virtual communication was making things worse but this communication gap resulted on even more bad side for him that completely changed his future.
🎯 He was feeling stucked between his preparations, future plans, relationship and inner struggle. Also Isha is losing interest in their relationship as she thinks that they aren't good for each other as issues are growing with time between them. But Mandar thought that getting admission B-school will solve all issues. Will he get admission in B-School? Will he able to fulfill his dreams? Will Isha understand his efforts?
🎯 The story is very well told by the author with apt title as whole story revolves around. The content is so engaging and emotional that keeps reader turning the pages. Life doesn't work according to hopes & plans. This story I would recommend you to read if you want to learn move on and let it go in life.
The story starts with Mandar Vartak who has pictured a perfect life (in his mind) and assumes life would be all easy once he gets into a B-school. So he starts preparing for CAT. He has a very supportive family and a loving girlfriend, Isha and their future depends on him clearing CAT. But does everything happens according to plans or destiny has it all set before hand? Few months to begin all the entrances and the relationship which was all perfect (or maybe it seemed to be) starts to fall apart. Before he could realize, she was already gone. And no matter how much you try, you can't make someone stay. And the challenges of Mandar begins here.
Now, let's come to my recommendations, shall we? What I liked about the book was the lesson it had to give. About when to 'not giving up' and when to stop chasing something which you know you can't have. As the genre suggests, it not really is a romance but more about life, love and an experience that a person needs to have in life, doesn't matter if you reach your 'planned destination' it's always about the journey where you explore yourself and that's what Mandar got. It's about Yin and Yang of life. Apart from all this, I felt like the author was deliberately trying to show that it's okay to give up on your love over some misunderstandings. Why is it that a person can realize the meaning of life when someone leaves. Why can't it be exploring life together. It would've been better if we'd got to see Isha as a little bit supportive. I felt she was selfish. One couldn't be happy in a relationship all the time. It has it's own phases. And love isn't limited to just staying in a 'relationship' and being happy all the time. The story of exploring life was all good and written well, on a fast paced. The second half of the book was more interesting to me and got me hooked.
Overall, it was a good one time read.
Ratings 3.5/5 Recommendations: those who are looking for a fast paced, light read.
𝗔𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗕-𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹?! by Swapnil Paranjape, Prajakta Sinai 𝐁𝐥𝐮𝐫𝐛 : What happens when your illusion of a perfect life comes crashing down at an unexpected turn of life? He has had a picture-perfect life: a loving family, good grades, a great girlfriend and an overall protected happy life. Up until now that is.
𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 :
The writing seems very realistic. I liked how it's not too simple or easy but rather detailed and well planned. Few events from past are sprinkled throughout the book, adding an extra essence to the storyline. The way it's narrated, makes us curious, to read ahead.
It sheds light to simple and average moments and problems, which I can say, everybody has faced atleast once in their lifetime. I think every desi person can relate to at least one thing. To me, the thing I related to most was the character of Mandar. At some point, he was just blank about his future, as people said to him he has a lot of potential and all, but the question of what to do next still hung.
After reading this, one might feel motivated to chase their dream or try new things in their life. To me, it gave a message that even if we think things are falling apart or changing, we should still give a shot to the thing we are chasing. Maybe we'll achieve it, maybe not, but that's life.
Lastly, the vibrant cover caught my eye, it's truly beautiful! To me, it gave away the content of book, as if showing us colourful bright life and showing colourless part as the struggle, the hardships and efforts behind it. Overall, if you are looking for a thoughtful and motivating book, give this one a try!
Do you ever feel like you are not sure what you are doing in life or why you are doing it? 🤔 Believe me when I say, I battle with this question almost everyday in my life. And may be that's the reason I quit my job without having any backup plan and started looking for more in life. 🕵️♀️ And now after long time of questioning, experimenting and exploring, I finally feel like I've got my calling. I'm no more confused with what I want to do in my life.💁 And so when I picked up this book 'All that for B School' and started reading Mandar's journey, I felt so much connected with what he's going through. ✅ His feeling of dissatisfaction in his current job, hard decision to quit and pursue his liking, tense relationship with his parents and girlfriend because of his decision, despite of every problem putting all the efforts to achieve his dream of joining MBA school, and like happy end of every motivational story or movie, how he achieve the victory. 🙌 I just found the instant connection with the story which made the experience of reading this book much more enjoyable for me. 😇 I love how authors portrayed the characters and how well they captured their emotions. And it's easy and engaging narration felt like you are not reading a book but talking to Mandar and other people from his life. 😁 Stories are the best way to convey any message to audience and I appreciate how effectively authors of this book have managed to give this Inspiring message through the book that, 'don't give up on your dreams. Follow your Passion.' 💯 And isn't it true?! After all life is too short to spend doing what you don't love. 🙌
The story is about a 25-year-old boy Mandar Vartak who has everything sorted in his life. He has a stable job, a stable relationship with a girl named Isha, and a loving family. Still, something seems missing for him in his life.
He has a strong desire to get into a top Business school. So, he left everything behind and dedicated himself completely to CAT preparation. As it’s a very tough national exam the burden starts building upon him. He witnesses his life falling apart, his family becomes sceptical of his decision. He even faces many unknown aspects of his stable relationship, his career problems rise more and more. Mandar finds himself in a weird position where he loses all the balance and stability he has in his life.
Going through such a crisis he has to learn to live again in a new way. The story goes on to show how he overcomes everything. This book portrays how we treat competitive exams in our Indian society. An excitement of achieving something astonishing makes people feel great. By giving a desire position its takes away so much in return and makes the youthful energetic aspirants, information feeder machines to procure results.
Though it’s a love story it has many more things to convey. Students can easily relate to this story as it mainly focuses on the struggle for achieving academic success. It also shows how to fulfill our goals by not giving up despite all the odds and downs we face in that path.
One couldn’t be happy in a relationship all over the time. This is a story of exploring life and the second part becomes more interesting to me. Overall it is a beautiful, fast-paced, and light read.
When we have crossed a number of years in life, we come to realise that life is not extraordinary. It is uniquely ordinary for everyone. When it becomes too ordinary, we tend to undervalue the gifts we have got from life, which happened with Mandar Vartak, the lead of the story.
"All that for a B-School?!" is a journey of a Biotechnology Post-graduate Professional, who wants more from life. In this regard, he quits his job and returns to his hometown, to prepare for MBA entrance exams.
But, as things mostly don't go the way they were planned, Mandar too finds himself in a mess quite soon - issues at home and his relationship, in concentrating on studies, and everything else that mattered to him.
The book isn't something extraordinary, but it is as real and relatable as life can be.
The story starts on a positive note and has its share of highs and lows. At a point, it feels like being dragged, but same way does life feel like sometimes.
The book is about understanding the importance of every single moment that brings happiness. Life is never going to be perfect. There will never be a happily ever after. There will be problems till you are alive.
So, instead of searching for a perfect life, or even perfect moment for that matter, we should focus on making the most out of everything we have at the moment.
The book starts on comical and sarcastic notes. A bit off was its writing in both past and present tenses. But Occasional use of Hindi makes it more realistic. It has references ranged from Greek mythology to beer, which are most interesting.
Overall, it is a good read. If you want something relatable and realistic to read, "All That For A B-School?!" is the recommended one.
The story is quite simple. It's just like the day to day stories we come across our daily lives. The journey consists of the characters named Mandar who wants to pursue a golden career path by pursuing MBA from a renowned B-School in India.
Students can relate to the novel very easily as it focuses on the struggles they endure in their path to academic success. It also shows the way on how to achieve the goals by never giving up despite all the odds one might have to face in their path of life. The only difference being, it's been portrayed in the form of a gentle storytelling. Thus, nudging the readers to finish it quickly & effortlessly. Be it family, friendship, finance, success, dreams, love, relationship or something like life itself. The main aspect which was highlighted is the fact that only the one who's truly devoted enough can actually achieve the goals destined for them. Otherwise, failure is bound to happen at some point or another.
Though it's basically romance novel, but the content has far much more to offer than just a simple love story. It focuses on dreams, aspirations & the sacrifices one needs to make in order to achieve the best possible outcome life has to offer.
The protagonist has everything which every guy or girl would dream for & had planned the subsequent steps accordingly as well. However, little did he realise that life has other plans for him & how very less often things go as per the individual's wishes.
The only drawback being it lacks the necessary characterisation. It could've been more balanced. A good one-time read!

All That for a B-School? is a fiction book written by Swapnil Paranjape and Prajakta Sinai. The main protagonist of the story is Mandar, who is confused in his life and started to prep for CAT examination. His life is going perfectly and smoothly, with everything beside him. Family, relationship, dreams, etc. everything settled but suddenly his life came crashing down. To know about that, you have to read the book.
The cover page of the book is simple and the title is suitable to the plot. This book discusses some of the major issues which people have felt in their life: competitiveness, confusion, pressure, hardwork, youth issues etc. I felt that this book bare the soul to the reader because everyone has experienced every bit of it.
We live in this world where in your 20s, you have to achieve everything otherwise you're no benefit to the society or yourself. The language of the book is simple and the narration is done in a very lucid manner. I live the way author has described the journey of a particular person which every aspirants can relate to.
The conversation in the book gives a tinge of Marathi in it, which makes it more realistical. The portrayal of every character is done very well, I love reading about all the characters. Everyone has their unique traits which make the plot more interesting. The relationship discussed in the book is also explained in a nice manner: friendship, parent-child, siblings. I think it's a perfect read for teen and young adults, I actually recommend this book to them.

There is no hiding of the fact that competitive exams in our country are taken seriously like nothing else. Cutting down sleeping hours, studying like super-humans, missing out on family functions and parties with friends; we are all too aware of these students. No doubt they’ll achieve success after that; but what about all that is missed out?!
All That for a B-School, a book co-authored by Swapnil Paranjape and Prajakta Sinai is a story of one such B-School aspirant. Mandar has a perfect life. There’s nothing missing; perfect parents, amazing education; a beautiful girlfriend; he is living a dream life. Ahh but the irony of life! We want more than we have; so does Mandar. After deciding on giving CAT, his life takes a complete twist. Or rather goes haywire. With the motto of being on top, he forgets everything else that is of matter. This, of course, doesn’t turns out well. The book is a mirror to all those who are Mandar’s track. It is to remind them that competitions should be taken the right way; that they shouldn’t forget living. It also shows us the sad reality about how we become so obsessed with competitions that we end up ruining the most loving relations.
The book is a beautiful one. The authors have written it simply and efficiently. I felt what they wrote, as if the struggle was their own. All That for a B-School is a must-read for all the young adults. Believe me, you will relate to it.
It spoke life into me. 'All that for a B-school' by Swapnil Paranjape and Prajakta Sinai, takes us on a journey of life with Mandar Vartak. He once had a tolerable, perfect life but one decision stumbles it all. Suddenly, everything seems to be working against him. His MBA exams are far from better, his beautiful relationship walking on rocky roads, his life is getting uprooted. With life beating him down, can he survive to see his destiny unfold? What does life have in store for him?
It was philosophical. Not a big, long, over-the-top philosophy, but something grounded and relatable. The writing was very interactive, something that I desperately crave in books. The character development was amazing, I loved taking this journey with such an imperfect but interesting character. The authors took a small instance from the MC's life and developed it into the story of a lifetime. I can't appreciate it enough. It was a simple story, simple vocabulary, nothing too complicated other than life itself, but it had a flavour of its own.
There weren't any noticeable errors in the book, and I definitely recommend this one. It doesn't matter whether you are seasoned or a new reader, this is a light read that you might really enjoy.
All That for a B-School?! is a relatable story of a young man trying to figure out his way in life. The story revolves around a 24-years old Mandar who is an MBA aspirant. Throughout the book, the author explores the relationships of Mandar with those around him and his journey to the gates of a B-school. While everything was going fine for him, it was during his one year of preparation, that the story takes a back track and everything goes haywire. He begins to struggle against his relationship of 6 years with his girlfriend, Isha, as well the struggle to get into a B-school is quite overwhelming for him. Portraying the themes of friendship, dreams, career, long-distance relationship, break-up, grieving, healing, and above all family, the book is a quick, fun and quirky read. The author aims to portray the chasm between dream and reality. Using lucid language, well-carved out characters and impressive narration, the author has very articulately expressed the struggles of his inner self. Though it's basically romance novel, but the content has far much more to offer than just a simple love story. It focuses on dreams, aspirations & the sacrifices one needs to make in order to achieve the best possible outcome life has to offer. Overall, it’s a good one-time read.
Mandar Vartak is a typical Indian man - he has a family he wishes to keep close and a job he wishes to keep far away from. But unlike many others, he quits his job after deciding to pursue a management course which will change his career for the better, or so he thinks. And his run to attend classes and to prepare for the major exams begin. . Being an MBA student myself, I was more than thrilled to read this book. In a normal Indian household, the decision to quit the job and pursue a course that might or might not change the career as hoped is a huge decision, especially by one who has to live upto the expectations of family and his girlfriend's family. So, I really loved the silent support from Mandar's family and the constant support from his friends. So, undeniably, he is one lucky guy. In my opinion, more than the story itself, it is the writing of the author that takes the book to a higher level. Average stories like attending classes, looking after family and fighting with girlfriend are interesting to read just because of the right usage of words and the correct coherence. And at many points, it makes you smile widely. A lot of people who went through the preparation of competitive exams can relate a lot with this book. And I'm definitely waiting to read a lot more by these authors.
✨All That For A B-School?! is a story about Mandar, the hero who attempts to put forth a valiant effort to carry on with a day to day existence anticipated from him by the general public and his family. Connections, considers, assumptions, everything assumes a significant part in his life. He endures a decent designing school and afterward after to a b-school. He begins to look all starry eyed and brings his connection forward while battling through family's necessities.
Did he finally manage to come out of it and achieve his dreams?
✨A very straightforward yet incredible story of a youthful working class engineer, who is transitioning. We all go through a period of life in early profession where you are dumbfounded but then to settle on insightful choices for a safe future. On the off chance that you have done that, this is a story you will identify with.
✨Getting into the Title and Book Cover, I think they've done their job well. Like Title and Book Cover, they were both feasible and fully essential to the story. I really liked the cover, and I'm sure that after reading the plot, you're all going to get it. The vocabulary used was simple, and I didn't notice any kind of trouble reading the book.
What happens when your illusion of a perfect life comes crashing down at an unexpected turn of life ?
ALL THAT FOR A B-SCHOOL ?! ~ SWAPNIL PARANJAPE, PRAJAKTA SINAI
Life takes twists and turns and suddenly from your comfortable life you find yourself in a messed up situation . I know life gives us so many unexpected blows and we grow through it , some might take time but all of us move on eventually. This is a romance fiction but it has got more to offer than just cliche romance . Its about this guy Mandar Vartak who has a well planned life up until now . He had a very loving family , nice girlfriend , good grades and a happy life , in short , everything we aspire for. But then again he is jerked awake to reality , suddenly his love life is failing along with his career too . The existential crisis is never ending with the gap between his dreams and reality growing wider .
I enjoyed the gentle storytelling although i would have liked this book far better if it wasnt so mandar centric ,i would have loved to get some prespective from his girlfriend too . Other than that it had many life lessons too and i guess thats what is going to be with me after i have put that book down .
Being a CAT trainer myself ,I am always in lookout for those books that are closely related to B-schools and its grills. Hence when I came across the title of this novel , serendipity engulfed me and I quite willingly pick it up only to know that it has much more to offer than just a mere quest to a B-school.
Mandar seems to have everything sorted in life . From personal to academic front ,he seems to be having the time of his life. But as we know everything doesn't remain the same and the only constant thing about our lives is that it changes constantly. He falls apart when he least expected it and his life takes a downward spiral from then .
Will he be able to stand up and rejuvenate himself like the rising phoenix from his ashes? Only a thorough reading of this book will tell.
The characters are too relatable. There are many layers to them . A student's life is presented accurately and the struggles that he faces on a daily basis is observed from close quarters. The value of family and relationships is artistically expressed. How our present state never decides or shapes our future is beautifully captured. All in all a work that teaches us about every sphere of life.
