A steamy romance with funny and clever banter. I loved the language and writing style.
However, I missed a story underneath the sizzling hot moments. Something to drive the story forward in addition to Darcy's and Elizabeth's romance where obtuseness from the lady's account was the impediment.

I always enjoy this writer's work very much. In this variation, Ms. Dixon gives an insight into what could have happened between Elizabeth and Darcy had they acknowledged their attraction for each other while at Netherfield. Passion flares between the two, and Darcy is barely able to bring the situation under control before it is too late. Being an honorable man he makes an offer for her. Elizabeth doesn't wanted to be forced into marriage and spends all her time and energy in trying to avoid Mr. Darcy. Again and again, they are brought together. A bit steamier than this author's usual work, and a very entertaining read.

I enjoyed this story very much! The teasing that goes on between Fitzwilliam and Elizabeth (during and following their first steamy encounter in the library) is clever and funny! Jane and Charles have an encounter of their own, which leads to unexpected results. By an agreement with Mr. Darcy, Mr. Bennet once again show how Elizabeth is the favorite of all his girls. I recommend this book to all who love Pride & Prejudice.

This was enjoyable to read but suffered from bad pacing (including brushing over events and then referring to the details later, for no discernible reason - especially in the Rosings section) leading to a rushed and unsatisfying resolution.

I am not a fan of meaningless delays to plot resolution - missed chances as a plot device can be useful, but in my view they should work to enhance and develop the story and it’s characters rather than simply being used to lengthen the text and frustrate the reader.

Exhausting

This book was very difficult to get through mainly because of Elizabeth. Her constant thoughts of being attracted to Darcy but refusing to realize she loves him is tedious. It was hard to read because after so many pages of the same thing it was legitimately exhausting.

In this story Elizabeth and Darcy are as red-blooded and passionate as a couple should be.
