Sceneclopedia Selects: Bram Stoker's Dracula: Structural Components, Story Analysis, and the Complete Scene List of the 1992 Feature Film
Films aren't made of theories or rules. They're made of scenes. Even if you're not a screenwriter or filmmaker, literally just looking at a Sceneclopedia scene list, without reading any of the words, will make you see and think about your favorite films in a way you never have before.
The purpose of Sceneclopedia is not to explain everything about screenplay structure and style, but to be a reference for scene lists, with only enough analysis to not leave you completely adrift. Sceneclopedia is a tool, not instructions. If you have ever tried to write a script or make a film, more likely than not, you watched some films in the vein of yours to try to figure out how to do it. Sceneclopedia assists that process, making it faster and easier to ponder your particular problems by seeing how some classic films solved theirs. Sceneclopedia Selects provide an outlet for films which don’t fit neatly into a genre book, and they also allow you to access scene lists for only the films you want, one at a time, regardless of genre. As a result, Sceneclopedia Selects are obviously much shorter; they are not full-length books, but they are nearly as dense as the films they examine.
