This is a beautiful romance, witty, fun and a page turner, I loved getting to know Ethan and Monroe, two people who were not looking for love or forever until they meet in the small town of Forever Falls and cupid takes aim at them and hits the spot, two people with baggage find the best of love and happiness.
Monroe Roberts has lived here all of her life and family means everything to her, she is divorced and stuck in her ways these days managing a diner, and seems to be happy. After the heartbreak of the divorce she gives up on her plans to open up her own fancy cake shop and keeps going but when a Chris Hemsworth look alike comes to town life as Monroe knows it is going to change forever.
Ethan Hammersmith is on a mission to discover the father he never knew, he is Australian and has put a lot of hard work into getting to where he is was but now it is time to find the truth and he packs everything up and leaves for America, looking for love is not on the agenda but meeting Monroe and getting to know her and the people in Forever Falls sees him find what he needs.
This one is such fun, beautifully written as Stefanie London knows how to, their journey is filled with ups and downs and a sensuality that had me sighing. There is a lot for both of them to overcome and together they help each other do this in such a beautiful way, I was cheering them on and smiling throughout. There are lots of fabulous characters in this story and so many fun parts with Thor and Monroe, I was drooling over the beautiful cakes and Thor. I do highly recommend this one, I loved it.

I love small town settings. It creates an atmosphere with some really great side characters that add to the story. You get all that with Forever Starts Now. For me, I had trouble connecting with the main characters. I liked the story, it was good but this is just one of those cases where the decisions/reactions made by both main characters when they were hurt in the past, kept me from really connecting with these two. I just didn't understand the extreme reactions. Unfortunately, it can be something as small as that that can take a potentially great book into just a good book. I really enjoy this authors writing and still enjoyed everything else about this book. I kind of wish this was a series. Monroe's sisters relationships were interesting to me and would have loved to see their story as well.

Cute, amusing, and heartfelt!
Forever Starts Now is an entertaining, uplifting tale that takes you on a journey into the life of Monroe Roberts, an intelligent, heartbroken, young woman who finds herself inadvertently in need of some help from the sexy, new visitor to Forever Falls, Ethan Hammersmith who may just require a little assistance of his own.
The writing is smooth and sweet. The characters are genuine, hesitant, and supportive. And the plot is a delightfully charming mix of friendship, family, life, love, introspection, secrets, misunderstandings, taking chances, and finding the true meaning of home.
Overall, Forever Starts Now is an engaging, witty, cosy tale by London that has just the right amount of emotion, passion, and angst to make this story a quick, breezy, enjoyable read.

I couldn’t help but give a bit of a squeal when I opened up this Bookmail! Just look at that gorgeous cover and of course, a Stefanie London novel is for sure going to be a heartfelt and uplifting read. I was not wrong! This book was amazing and I just adored it so much!

Forever Starts Now is a very sweet small-town romance between two likable characters. Monroe is divorced and has given up on finding her forever love and Ethan, a Chris Hemsworth look-alike, is in town looking for his birth father. They pretend to date to help the struggling diner Monroe manages and end up falling in love. It is a heartwarming and uplifting romance that is a perfect comfort read.

Forever Starts Now was a heartwarming tale of love and finding your way in life. I absolutely loved the romance and the small town this story took place. With a story line and characters that quickly hooked me, I couldn’t stop smiling. If you're a fan of the fake dating trope, which is one of my favorites!, then you definitely need to add this one to your tbr.
While Monroe Roberts worked at the local Sunshine Diner, her true passion in life was baking. She had even won a national tv show baking competition. But with a jaded past involving an ex-husband, trying to help a struggling diner and caring for her dad, Monroe never got to put herself first. When a stranger walked into town that looked like Chris Hemsworth, her life got even busier. With women stealing spots at her diner to catch a glance of the movie star doppelganger, and not ordering meals, the diner seemed to struggle even more.
I heart Ethan Hammersmith. He was sexy, kind, honest and when he opened up, it was impossible not to fall completely head over heels in love with him. He too came from a jaded past, and his was filled with lies. Ethan had been searching the U.S. for the dead father he never knew existed until now. But with everyone trying to get up in his business or capture a date with the new bachelor, he wasn't able to discreetly dig for info on his father. So when Ethan suggested to Monroe that they fake date, so the diner could thrive and he could stop being bothered, I was utterly giddy!
The story alternated between Monroe and Ethan and they had so much in common. And from the moment they were near one another, there was instant chemistry. Flirting and banter was so seamless between them. So when they started to pretend dating, of course that electricity was still there. With touches, whispering secret words to each other and even kissing.....this book was SO much fun! Some of their moments together were hot and I couldn't get enough of it! All the while they were fake dating, it sure didn’t look or feel like it!
Forever Starts Now was a sexy and sweet story that was so easy to devour! With a story line that flowed effortlessly and characters that were a piece of cake to adore, I loved this story! There were also side characters that felt so real to me! So if you’re a fan of romance or the fake dating trope, then I can’t recommend this one enough! Now I need to go check out London’s other books ♥.

If only he wasn’t her type. Hell, Monroe would chance it and say that Ethan might be the “type” of every living being with a pulse and a preference for men. Universal hotness, at its finest.

What a beautiful love story Forever Starts Now was. It was serious but had it’s funny moments. It was dramatic yet light-hearted. Ethan and Monroe found their way to each other under the most fascinating and intriguing circumstances. And the story was written with the utmost respect for both of them and their situations.
It was wonderful how Stefanie London brought both Ethan and Monroe to life. Their back-stories were both heart-breaking and interesting. Ethan searching for his father. Monroe searching for her old self. They needed each other even though they didn’t realize it until it hit them square in the chests. Then, it was to late to pretend anymore … it was real and they both have to face the future. Together or apart, they are both changed forever.
This was a can’t put down read for me. I was entranced with both Ethan and Monroe, their families and how everything was playing out. I actually felt invested in their lives. To me, that’s a big compliment to the author. When they can make you feel the pain and frustration, the happiness and disappointments, you know you are reading a well written, beautiful story. When an author draws you in and makes you feel a part of their lives … is there anything better? I loved how she let us watch Monroe grow stronger, stand on her own two feet, fight for who and what she wanted. She brought her from a disgruntled woman to a beautiful and strong woman with style and grace. As for Ethan … well, your heart broke for him. Then you cheered him on. He had his moment where you hoped he redeemed himself but you also understood why he was feeling like he was. He was kind, understanding and so very forgiving. They were a perfect match and totally complimented each other.
Stefanie London put a smile on my face and a song in my heart with Forever Starts Now. It was an encouraging, beautiful story with an HEA that actually brought a tear to my eye.

Whoa. Stefanie London is becoming one of my absolute fave contemporary romantic authors. This is my third book by her, and she continues to write emotional, realistic, and steamy stories that impress me.
Monroe is a small-town girl with big (hidden) dreams that she puts on hold while she takes care of her ailing father. She is healing from a horrible divorce, and running a restaurant that is going under--fast. Ethan Hammersmith--a Thor-look-alike--is a man chasing a dream that might never exist. Before his mother dies, she reveals the name of a man that is supposedly Ethan's real father, Matthew Brewer. After a year spent looking for every Matthew Brewer he can find, his last lead takes him to the charming tourist town of Forever Falls--and straight to Monroe.
One of my favorite things about London's book is how relatable she writes a heroine. They are flawed, beautiful, tough, and inspiring. Monroe is a great example. Her first marriage resulted in disaster: her husband cheated on her with her cousin. It ended up ripping her family apart, with Monroe's supporter's on one side, and the cousin Amber's supporters on the other. I've had family issues like this, and I appreciate the author's achingly realistic portrayals of imperfect families. I really loved Monroe, To let down her guard and let Ethan into her heart is a big step. I was so proud of her. Her ambition and drive pulled her out of some dark places. Her happing ending is beautiful to see.
I liked Ethan overall as a hero. Even though we are let in on his situation early in the story, I didn't come to truly appreciate how messed up he was until the end. He was LOST. Having his world turned upside down (by learning the man who raised him wasn't his father), his search for some sort of family to ground him is sad to watch. It's heartbreaking. When Monroe and Ethan strike up a deal to help each other out--her to get more customers because of the Hemsworth-looking newcomer, and him to be able to get some info about Matthew Brewer--feels relatable. Getting to know each other was a genuine thing. Her to trust somebody, and him to let kindness in. I loved watching their relationship evolve into love.
Overall, this book was incredible. I love reading London's books; they have a cozy feeling to them, while still handling such raw emotion. This is definitely my favorite book of the author's so far, and I can't wait to read the next thing she writes.

This was a nice romance novel with likeable characters. The setting sounds like a lovely place to live, where everyone knows your name. It’s a great little book to read in the beach or for a quick getaway from life. There is some humour which is always a good addition.

This was a wonderful story and I had a blast reading it. I loved the entertaining vibe, the awesome banter, and fun characters. I loved the fake relationship aspect and how it grew into so much more. This story was filled with so much growth, healing, and love, and I enjoyed it all.
Monroe’s a bit grumpy but so sweet with a heart of gold and it kicks off with awesome verbal sparring between her and Ethan. I loved that playfulness and fun. I love how everyone thought he was someone else and how that played into everything over the course of the story. I loved learning what they'd gone through in the past, the pain they were dealing with, and felt the emotion as they dealt with their present-day struggles. I loved them forming their fake relationship and the why behind it, when they start to open up and letting their guard down and moving on from past hurts. I thought that Monroe and Ethan had great chemistry and I enjoyed the build as their feelings grew and lines were crossed.
There a lot of fun scenes with great banter and flirting, some mild drama, and so many entertaining moments that had me smiling. I liked the other characters in the story and the different bonds that were happening and that were formed. This was a light read with a nice amount of depth and details that really pulled me in.
This was a fantastic story to lose myself in and left me feeling happy and full of hope. I loved Ethan and Monroe and how their fake turned real and all the feelings and healing that happened. Great read!

Witty, sweet, humorous, poignant mystery with just the right amount of passion

What a beautifully told story! I loved this town, the people and the many characters we meet while Monroe and Ethan find themselves. The blurb tells you that this is a fake boyfriend/girlfriend story but it is so much more. I will admit I cried in one place, but for most of this story I smiled at the antics going on. A cute story in a small town setting, featuring vibrant characters, “Forever Starts Now”, by Stefanie London (Entangled: Amara), is an enjoyable, quick read.
Ethan and Monroe are great characters, both with baggage and hiding a lot of hurt, but also so full of life and energy.
There’s a sadness in Ethan’s life that is so touching, yet he’s such a tender, passionate man, and so considerate with the heroine. I loved his personality: a charmer, a teaser, and such a goodhearted person.
I also loved how the author depicted Monroe’s traumatic experiences and how she recovered with Ethan´s help.
I liked the openness and sincerity between Ethan and Monroe, too.
I found some aspects, like the women gawking at Ethan and going to the diner because of him, a bit silly and overdone.

Forever Starts Now is a breath of fresh air wrapped up in a charming small-town romance. It’s the kind of book that you can read in a hammock on a warm spring day, or wrapped up in a cozy blanket by a fire, and the comforting result will be the same.
Ethan Hammersmith is on a mission to find his birth father. After striking out in multiple small towns over the space of about a year, he finds himself in Forever Falls. That he has a passing resemblance (and the accent to match) of a certain famous movie star means that he’ll have no hope of navigating through this small, close-knit town without garnering a whole lot of attention. Unless he has a local in. Enter Monroe Roberts, the fiery manager of the local diner. She’s a few years out of a painful divorce and is desperately trying to save the diner from financial ruin. She’s also tired of her well-meaning family trying to encourage her to date again. Could a fake relationship be the solution to both of their problems? And what happens when the lines between fantasy and reality become hopelessly blurred?
Stefanie London infuses just the right amount of whimsy into this wonderfully constructed tale of two people who’ve been through some things and how they emerge on the other side. Though some of the subject matter could have skewed to the heavy side, London deftly manages to keep the lightheartedness of this book afloat, while still honoring the subject matter. It’s a comfort read, pure and simple. And it makes me wish that Forever Falls was a real place that I could go and visit.
If you’re looking for a one-handed read that’s equal parts sweet escape and narratively satisfying, this is the book for you. (Bonus points for all of the Thor cosplay that ends up happening.)

Stefanie London has become one of my favorite authors, she never disappoints. This is an exceptional read, the two main characters are realistic and human, each with their own problems, one seeking answers, the other just surviving. This story would make a great beach/ vacation read. A definite add to your TBR list.

Oh my heart! I am swooning so madly over Forever Starts Now by Stefanie London. It is a flirty, witty and emotional small town romance with an Aussie Thor look alike drop dead gorgeous hero with issues and a redheaded fierce heroine with more issues. I didn't know how time passed while I was reading the story.
Ethan Hammersmith ( yup that name is all trouble) has come to USA from Australia in search of his true identity. His real father. Forever Falls is a stop in his search. Monroe has been here forever with her family who dreamt of having her own bakery but dreams get crushed. She is heartbroken and dulled. And now the biggest challenge in her life is to save the diner where she works as manager. Ethan needs to hide from the town's attention due to his Chris Hemsworth like appearance and Monroe needs people to pay and not just loiter around to have a look at Ethan. So comes the not so brilliant idea of Fake Relationship. And you know, those tend to get awfully real so fast.
This story holds the warmth and beauty of small town romance in spades. Forever Falls is a picturesque town with quirky, nosey, kind, simple people. Monroe is such an amazing woman. Her husband cheated on her, she had to stop dreaming about own bakery and spend all the time and money on her sick father yet she has not lost the light in her soul. She is a delightful and sweet presence to anyone and her sassiness is so awesome. On the other hand, Ethan feels unmoored and lost when the biggest lie of his life was exposed. He has left everything behind for a search that only makes him feel frustrated, restless and sad. Monroe made him feel real happiness after a long time. This man is so sexy and confident and swoon on steroid. Charming, witty, sexy..the full package. They became partners for mutual convenience but soon it became true friendship. Their chemistry was sizzling hot. Holy slow burn goodness! But every great love story becomes greater with complications. Ethan doesn't know if he can stay and make a life in Forever Falls with his unresolved issues. Monroe doesn't know how to move forward after losing a man who brought back the spark in her heart. Everything works out just perfectly at the end.

Another small town romance. Another new author for me. Another success.
Forever Starts Now was a well written, fun, small-town romance. I slipped into the story with ease and liked both main characters immediately. I enjoyed the mystery surrounding Ethan and his arrival in Forever Falls, paired with the picture of him as a Thor doppelgänger and we were on to a winner.
The romance was sweet and their time together believable. I liked Monroe and the journey she was on. There were times when I was willing her to believe in herself and not see herself as less than, she did get there in the end, so the growth was evident.
"But maybe she could learn a thing or two from him about speaking her truth. About putting herself out in the world even if the outcome was uncertain."
It was a feel good read, swoony in parts and had the kind of relationship everyone girl wants.
"He looked at her...Like she was beautiful. Like she was special. Like she mattered."
To my surprise, I liked the way in which the ending played out. I thought the pinnacle of the story was going to be the usual misunderstanding followed by the obligatory fall out. Instead, the angst was low and the characters took care of their own obstacles. It felt different from the other stories, a dose of realism if you will. I liked Ethan closing his own 'loop', again, it added something fresh to the usual format.
Forever Starts Now was a great read. I'm so pleased I discovered this new author and have now stalked her socials accordingly. Bring on my next read by Stefanie London.

OMG I love it so much! This book is perfect for me. It's everything I love in a contemporary romance. A conflict that's not over-done, a heroine who is adorable yet strong, and a hero who knows what is the most important thing in life. I loved how perfect Monroe and Ethan are for each other. They both value family above everything else and they are both NOT looking for a forever. When love finds them, it's everything they deserve.
Monroe hasn't dated anyone since her ex-husband broke her heart and left town for good. She pretends to be okay, but she isn't. There is something missing; her passion is gone. Now all she wants is to run a diner in their small town and hope that it's enough. But everyone other than her knows she is fooling herself. She is meant to do something different and dream bigger.
Strangely, it takes an outsider to show her what's she truly made of. Ethan has come to Forever Falls hoping to find something, anything that will give him closure. He has lost his way, and that's how he ends up finding Monroe. The most amazing woman in the world. Unfortunately, he isn't the one she deserves, but that doesn't mean they can have a little fun.
Overall, it's a wonderful, heartwarming story about love and relationships. I absolutely loved every minute of it. It was such a difficult to put down kind of book, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I highly recommend it to all readers, especially those who enjoy a good contemporary romance.

This is the first book that I have read by this author and I found her writing charming, with endearing characters, lots of witty banter and a mystery. Aussie and Chris Hemsworth doppelgänger, Ethan Hammersmith had the world by its tale, with a fancy high paying IT job, penthouse apartment in Melbourne and a fiancee, when his world came crashing down after his mother gave him a deathbed confession. His father was actually his step father and his biological father was an American named Matthew Brewer and was dead. Since he never had a great relationship with his father or brother, he left everything behind to find his "other" roots and any living relatives and he has been wandering the USA for a year, before he lands in Forever Falls. It is there that he meets Monroe Roberts, a once vibrant woman, who was broken by her unfaithful husband and cousin. But she still has enough sass to catch the eye of the Aussie and they make a deal to have a pretend relationship while he tries to find out about the local candidate and she gets to pretend that she has this gorgeous boyfriend to stick it to her ex and to get everyone off her back who pushed her to get back into the dating game. Of course, because this is a romance they help each other get over their trust issues and find what they need in the other. But the journey is the story and how they both reach their ultimate dream.

Darn you, Goodreads! I need a 1/2 star option...sheesh. This is a 3 1/2 star book. Not quite a four-star, but not down the ladder enough for a 3-star. However, since I only have full-star ratings available, we'll go with the 3-star and my mini-rant here in the review.
The usual meet-cute in a modern romance. I liked both of the characters, and I enjoyed some of the supporting cast as well. Nice small-town feel to the tale. Nice amount of romance/heat, more than kissing but also not reverting to sex scene after sex scene when our heroine and hero do get that far along in their relationship.
I think where it lost me was after they both realize that their "fake" relationship has developed into something more. Don't get me wrong - that was good! But it felt like the author needed reasons to keep them split up at that point. And then I felt like I was reading the typical "here's what really matters in like" paragraph over and over, to the point that I was all "I GET IT ALREADY!" That's not good, not at all.
Overall, I would have probably been just as happy with about 100 pages less. I might try another one of London's books at some point, see if this was just a fluke, my not really enjoying the last chapters and all.
OH! I would, however, have loved to have a photo of a Chris Hemsworth look-alike dressed as Thor on the cover. That would have been brilliant!

Forever Falls is a small town. Everyone knows everyone’s business. Monroe gave up on love and was good with her life. Or was she? Then Thor shows up and turns her world upside down.
This was a pretty good read. It made me want to visit this place! The characters were great and helped make the story come alive. I did have issues with Monroe. I didn’t warm up to her right away. Her attitude and negativity was too much at times. While I did feel for what she had went through, I had trouble connecting with her. Her sisters were pretty great! I did enjoy the author’s writing and her storytelling style. I went though many emotions while reading. I laughed. I cried. Good times.
If you’re a fan of romance, I highly recommend you check this one out! It was everything you could want in a story. We have hope, flirting, and the handsome book boyfriend. Stefanie London is a new to me author and I look forward to reading more by her. I give this 4 stars.

This would be a great read while sitting on the beach dreaming about Thor! Or at least that's what the citizens of Forever Falls thinks when a Chris Hemsworth look alike shows up in town and stirs up all kinds of craziness especially for Monroe who is trying to save the Sunshine Diner, that has been her whole life. This is such a cute tale of fake relationships, fake movie stars but real life feelings and dreams. Monroe isn't the only one looking for a secret. She needs the secret to making the Diner a success and Ethan is looking for the secret his mom keep from him. So while trying to help each other with their problems they might have a new problem with keeping their hearts in one piece.

This book was so delightful! The MC Monroe Roberts named after Marilyn is a very dedicated restaurant manager trying to keep the business she works for afloat.
Ethan is a newcomer to town from Australia who happens to look like Thor, Chris Hemsworth and is causing havoc at the restaurant she works at since everyone wants to get a photo or autograph lol. He has some secrets as to why he is there as well.
This was a sweet romance about new love after bad breakups, trying to find your place with your passion in life when you feel stuck where you are.

Oh wow! What a fantastic introduction to Stefanie London’s books Forever Starts Now has been. The story involves a sweet fake relationship that, of course, morphs into a real one. It’s packed with snappy dialogue and is strong on family values and a sense of community. As feel-good books go, this one has it all.

This book appealed to me, not due to the cover or title necessarily, but due to the concept. Fake dating trope? Sign me up! I am really working hard at expanding my reading palate (so to say) and read more traditional romantic books, and thanks to this book I don't feel so bad about that decision. I am not one who likes mushy-gushy romance, I need the characters to really work for the relationship and have a foundation before the couple forms. Stefanie London did not let me down in terms of character development & I was truly rooting for Monroe and Ethan throughout the book.
This was a pretty fast read for me, and I found it enjoyable the entire time. Watching Monroe's growth after coming out of divorce where her husband cheated on her, finding herself again after feeling like she lost herself, was something I feel is universally relatable - which was paralleled in Ethan's journey in finding his heritage. The underlying themes of figuring out who you are, what you want out of life, and how to come back after tragedy, are things that anyone of any age can understand and relate to. The fact that this book is slated partially as a fake dating troupe sells it a bit short I think, for while that was the reason I picked the book up, the reason I kept reading was the life lessons and "finding oneself" moments that struck a chord in my own life.
Overall, this book is very good. If you are looking for a romance where the romance is built on emotional and psychological connection as opposed to just physical attraction, the couple builds each other up and helps the other become the best version of themselves, then don't sleep on this gem.
This book appealed to me, not due to the cover or title necessarily, but due to the concept. Fake dating trope? Sign me up! I am really working hard at expanding my reading palate (so to say) and read more traditional romantic books, and thanks to this book I don't feel so bad about that decision. I am not one who likes mushy-gushy romance, I need the characters to really work for the relationship and have a foundation before the couple forms. Stefanie London did not let me down in terms of character development & I was truly rooting for Monroe and Ethan throughout the book.
This was a pretty fast read for me, and I found it enjoyable the entire time. Watching Monroe's growth after coming out of divorce where her husband cheated on her, finding herself again after feeling like she lost herself, was something I feel is universally relatable - which was paralleled in Ethan's journey in finding his heritage. The underlying themes of figuring out who you are, what you want out of life, and how to come back after tragedy, are things that anyone of any age can understand and relate to. This is my first time reading this author and I really love her voice. The story flows nicely and the character development is well done. It's a sweet small-town romance, fake relationship, with a celebrity doppelgänger hero and an aspiring pastry chef heroine, family found and lots of sisterly love...
Ethan Hammersmith upended his successful corporate life in Australia to travel across the US in search of his biological father that he just knew about right before his mother passed. He ended up in Forever Falls, where he was constantly mistaken for Chris Hemsworth (with his look and accent!)
Monroe Roberts's life and dreams were shattered three years ago when she found out her husband was cheating on her. From a bubbly and outgoing person, she'd become prickly and guarded. But underneath that facade was still a young woman with a heart of gold and a kind soul.
I really enjoyed the paths both characters had taken to find themselves and to achieve what they wanted in life. The story is emotional, yet heartwarming and endearing. I love this reverse grumpy/sunshine trope, and it's quite fun to see how Ethan slowly cracked down Monroe's armor. I also appreciate the open conversations between them, and how family values are strongly emphasized. Overall, it was a pleasant and enjoyable read, and I'd recommend it as a perfect summer read!
