How was this end the most intense. I’m literally throwing a mini tantrum because I don’t have the final one and even with the author predicting a release at the end of this month, it’s still too long. The hunt for Vyra was on just like making new plans to take down Satan. Melisandre is determined if possible to restore the sword and rescue Lucifer. Satan may have retreated but hell itself is left in shambles and each ring is working to restore order. But where Satan has gone and why is the biggest threat yet. Doesn’t help that Melsande, bold and sometimes too daring wants to follow through the Between, a place that even gods fear. Literally this whole book was crazy intense and this series has been phenomenal. I love the authors style, pacing and especially the character depth. Melsande is a easily a favorite heroine of mine and I can’t help but love her and her dark side. She’s also taken to swearing like it’s the only language she knows Such a great read and I’ll be dying inside until I can read the last and final one..... I’m hoping that all the little attentions given to Vyra are a sign of a series ahead for that girl. She’s garnered the attention of a few, possibly even an archangel and some demons. She’s such a conundrum in hell. Vyra’s so loyal, kind and obsessed with pretty things and a Virgin succubus to boot, which is unheard of. I would looooooooove if she got her own series.

Sighs. I'm impatient for the end of this series. Despite all the information at her disposal and warnings from those around her, Melisande continues to run off on her own and disregard advice. It's a surprise she made it as far as she did and especially when she decided to go after Vayra and Lucifer alone. Even though she's the first out of the Between, time to wait for the rest of her allies would have been so much better. The author makes a point to have Melisande "shielding" the baby with magic during and following her capture by Satan but the growing child also needs nourishment which Melisande seems to forget.
This one is more interesting than the last book but didn't really get much of anywhere. Melisande and friends find out where Lucifer and Vayra are and how to get there and even found a way to restore the sword of light though in a spear this time. Dis is still in disarray and a minister was conveniently appointed just before Melisande and crew took off for the rescue mission. The Between wasn't as dangerous as advertised, mostly just a long time getting to the end and watching horrific echoes of the past. The most danger Melisande faced was when one of the assassins caught up to her once she was separated from the rest of the group and tried to kill her. Cue fight scene, Melisande gets banged up some but is fine. That's pretty much the whole book, that and Michael training Tascius to become the next archangel to take Gabriel's place. There's also talk of restoring balance which I take to mean Satan must die since God was killed.
I'm not sure I can put an exact finger on my dissatisfaction with this series recently but I hope it picks up with the next one. Melisande captured and tortured are products of her rash decision making, I just hope the baby survives.

However they’re gonna get out of all of this mess, I have a sneaking suspicion that it’s gonna rip my heart out before it viciously returns it to the gaping maw it made and stitch it back up again in complete disarray.

Gah! This series y’all!, I am obsessed! ALL THE STARS!!! All Hell Breaks Loose deserves all the freaking stars!
Melisande is such a strong female lead. I know a lot of people were upset that she got pregnant in the previous book, but honestly there were times when I forgot she was even pregnant. She doesn’t let it stop her from being a bada** or keep her out of the fight. She’s still kicking butt and taking names!
Cate Corvin’s writing is as phenomenal as ever. There are so many parts throughout the book where you feel as if you’re literally standing there seeing what the characters see. Her world building truly is next level.
As mentioned by other reviewers there are significantly less sexy times in All Hell Breaks Loose than the previous Razing Hell books. This didn’t impact my love for the book as I really don’t believe there would be many sexy times considering the events that are taking place. I feel it made it more realistic to not have them much during this portion of the series.
I cannot wait for the final book to release as this cliffy killed me!

The end in sight
With the initial battle over, Melisande and her circle plan on how to rescue Lucifer and Vayra. Some things can not be avoided, no matter how well it is planned, so she is forced to rely on her fortitude and strength to survive. I like how Melisande has grown as a character. She realizes she is no longer alone, and is depending on those around her as they are a team that works together. She is still impulsive as that is part of her nature, but she realizes that she is not alone and has started to value the opinions of others and has learned to follow their lead when it is in their best interest.

Unsatisfied
I didn't care to much for this 4th book, I've loved each book so far, yet this one fell short. As I started this book I became a tad bored and found myself skipping through. Our heroine wasn't the tough H I've come to love, although she had mates, she was never one to count on them like this in the book, in this read i felt like she began to become that person. At the end her hopeless wasn't like her, our angry Angel is a God damn fighter! but we got a really watered down version here I didn't much care for. I'm hoping the next book is the last book, I'm becoming bored now, or maybe it was just how unsatisfying this read truly was.

This series is just so good!!! For me it’s getting better and better. Storyline is fantastic. Yes this book had less steaminess to it compared to the last 3. But because the story itself is really good I was perfectly fine with it. I am so happy there is another book. I seriously just want more!!!!

‼️This was a solid 4 star series until book 5 and it all went to shit. (See spoilers below)
Honestly I really have this 2.5 stars ⭐️ but rounded up cause it was safe and had no OW.
❣️Things I Liked/Loved❣️
-❤️I LOVED THE HAREM- they were not OTT but they were a well balanced and had lots of swoon moments.
-Overall good 🌎 world building
-Depth of character and SOME character growth.
-I liked the Gladiator vibe
-I love me a FMC that has fight to her…how ever juvenile🙄
Things I Did 💔 Not Like
-‼️I DO NOT LIKE THE VERY CLOSE BUT TWISTED BIBLICAL STORY. I like fantasy and even Angel/demons PNR but this was pushing my limits. If it wasn’t written by Cate I would have DNF and maybe still should have.
-‼️The FMC was the most Juvenile FMC. She thought telling Someone to “fuck off” was the answer to EVERYTHING.
-‼️The constant separation from one or more of her harem throughout the series. My Pet peeve!
-‼️2 different men in her harem where being controlled by another entity during the series. I hate this esp when the guy doesn’t really have remorse for what he didn’t to the h during that time. It’s so dumb I hate this type of storyline. At the very least that control wasn’t sexual so they stayed faithful. That’s not always the case in these situations so I appreciate that.

This is where the story took a serious plummet. Book 5 was like reading a totally diff story. INTRODUCING A NEW AND MORE POWERFUL ENEMY IN THE LAST BOOK IS A NO GO!!!!!!!
This enemy wasn’t introduced took the very end of book 4. Till then she had never been talked about. Then we had to endure almost a whole book of our FMC being tortured. Then her men are yet again in and out of the story. This was unpleasant and frustrating to read. What was the point of her being pregnant? She stupidly goaded the bad guy to the pony of torture but all was ok cause she protected her baby w magic 🙄 she didn’t even allow herself to think of the baby as a priority. This book dive bombed this series for me. Then she ends up as a queen and goddess!? It just took weird turns and I WAS NOT HERE FOR IT. Ugh it’s so dumb.
The only thing worth reading was the epilogue.

This book was such an awesome continuation of the Razing Hell series! Cate, as always, paints such a picture with her words and you feel the characters' emotions as strongly as you see their motivation!
There is less steam in this book, however the plot is phenomenal and it works so well with the extended storyline. I'm struggling to not give spoilers but let's just say, anyone who was worried last book that Melisande would change and become a cowering little flower given her new circumstances, will be relieved that she's as fiesty and determined as ever to fight for those she loves and what she thinks is right, even if she faces great danger in doing so.
I loved the depth to the relationships in this book, and once again getting to see more of Dis, Hell and to find out more about Azazel, Michael, Lucifer and Vyra! I still have so many questions, some new, some old, and I can't wait to see what's next!

I downloaded this book via Kindle Unlimited.
This book was so good compared to last, not only did we get to understand the world more, we got so many answers. We got to meet Michael, one of the other archangels, and find out what had happened to the rest. Gabriel really did a number on Heaven didn't he, god. Well, not God because God is dead too but here we are. I think this book added more depth as we got hints at Melisande's life before she was an angel, we got to see Lucifer more, we got to meet a whole host of new characters both good and bad. The one thing I will say is that I wasn't overly interested in this book until the last 50% until they were getting the Sword of Light repaired, and then all hell literally breaks loose and that drew me in so fast I couldn't stop reading.

I continue to be blown away by this series with each additional book. The fact that Corvin continues to add more secrets and more reveals to each book keeps me continuing. I adore these characters and how each of them have grown/changed through the series and I even have come to love some of the supporting characters as well. This book left me a little heart broken and I can’t wait to see how Corvin wraps it up.

OMG THAT ENDING :(( it was such an intense ride, i just want more and more! If the 5 book will be the last one i have mixed feelings. At the same time i am relieved to get an ending but i also know that it will not be enough. I really think these guys needs to have like a 6th book so we get to see all of em in one place. There is always someone missing, like this time it´s Lucifer. And also more of when their kid are with em

Meh. Some good parts, some boring. Too much focus on Belial at the expense of her other mates. Very odd to be bringing in a new Prime Power out of nowhere in Book 4 of a series with no previous mention of them.

I'll never tire of this series. Razing Hell has been such a fun series to follow along with and I'm glad there are going to be five books total. Although this fourth book had significantly less steam to it, it made up for it with the storyline and the many whys that were answered in this book. There are still tons of questions that need answers, but at least we have something to go off of now. I enjoyed learning new things about some of the demons and creatures in Hell. It was interesting to see how the succubi gain their powers and how they are able to connect to their Mother after coming to age. Along with that, information on the Chainlings are finally revealed. I've always wondered about them since they randomly showed up to worship and follow Melisande around, helping in whatever way they could. The idea of following the Chains and not deviating from the path they selected for you is one that I could see hard to swallow for Melisande and her guys, to always be thinking of the what ifs and feeling guilt about not being able to help where they could. Is it cliché to say that everything happens for a reason? It's like destiny or faith. Although it will be hard, they need to just go with the flow and let things happen how they are supposed to. Through the good times and the bad times, they need to accept the path of the Chains and know they will be put on the correct path. I know it might be hard to believe after that ending, but I'm excited to see how this whole story ends and what path they will be led along!!

So... that happened.
I was just minding my business, reading through, thinking to myself "a little less bloody than usual, but I'm digging it", when the whole thing just smacked me across the face.
I mean, a statue with boobies that shoot water? What kind of girl doesn't dream of that?
And Belial, a lover AND a fighter. I missed seeing my dude Tascius, whom I'd also love to have as a friend, but the time that Melisande spends with Azazel is so satisfying. I like him more with every book. Why wouldn't I? The dude eats soul for a living, and as it turns out, so does his mom. I won't lie and say that reading about Lailah didn't kick me in the feelings. Star-crossed lovers just get me all mushy.
If you don't enjoy epic cliff hangers, you might want to brace yourself because...so many questions.. Where is Raphael? Is Vyra going to get herself a kitsune and a archangel to decorate with glitter and silk? Do we get to see an epic battle between Satan and what's-her-name? Cate wouldn't kill Lucifer. Right? What's Melisande’s true form? Is the Chain...GOD? Even dead Gabriel is still a dick.
Any way, good book.

This entry into the series was still dark and intriguing, though less action than the previous installments. most of the focus being on a recovering Melisande and Dis, and tracking down Satan. I was never really a fan of the pregnancy plotline, so I was kind of glad that it felt like there was less focus on it here, and less of her mates treating Melisande like glass because of it.
There's new revelations that were fun to get into, like learning more about what/who exactly Azazel is, how Satan controls Lucifer, new areas of Hell. Definitely not as much steaminess this time around, but as she's pregnant and all the MCs were on a kind of deadline, I honestly didn't mind as much as I thought I would.
Unfortunately didn't feel like much time was spent with Tascius this time, but liked learning more about Michael (maybe a mate with Vyra? I'm liking guessing who all will end up with her). As with the previous books, there's a big cliffhanger to lead into the final one, so I can't wait to see how this whole battle concludes.

Great read but enough already (warning spoilers ahead)
I must begin with the fact that the series has been great really, I’ve loved every book. But I am so tired of the cliff hangers of pain and how can this power house group of supernaturals be taken over and over again by the bad guys. It’s like for every step forward another monster waits in the shadows. Where the hell are her mates. I was under the impression from B’s arena days that the mate bond is this tangible, unbreakable thing that not even satan himself can eliminate. Yet here he is taking over Lucifer with his own soul bond and then taking the pregnant angel captive without any mates feeling her misery across the realms. I am so happy to know that the next book is the final book in this series and hope that she continues with Varas story next, I’d like to see her get her arch angel and kitsune fox lovers. I am a big fan and love to read I am just a sucker for a happy ending and these cliff hangers have broke my heart and the wait to heal is so long. Come on February 2021

5) Female lead continues to be strong and entertaining
6) Male leads continue to be strong, compelling and have great chemistry with the female lead
7) Romance-driven stories continue to be engaging
8) The smut continues to be good without taking over the story
9) They mentioned Tuonela, the finish underworld! No one ever does that!

1) This is more of a bridge between the third and fifth books than a story within itself
2) I appreciated the break from the action but the storytelling was rather desultory

This is book 4 in the Razing Hell series and it is GOOD! Not as steamy as the previous books but the storyline just keeps getting better! The gang spends the entire book searching for Lucifer and Vyra and trying to figure out how to bring them both home. We realize in this book that there’s so much more to Azazel than we know. He’s so much more powerful than we’ve seen. Melisande is obviously more than we thought to what with the Chainlings and all. I think Michael is kind of funny! Totally not what you’d expect from an archangel! I wish we would have had more from Tascius but I know there will be more from him in the next book! And Haru. Haru is crazy about Vyra. Willing to go into danger for her. I can’t wait to see how that will transpire in the next book! Overall, this book was good!! The steam was much lower than the past books but that’s alright. I’m hooked already and I can’t wait for the next one to come out!!

Brutal
If your a true fan of angels and demons with Lucifer, Satan, and archangels lore and myths along with the 9 levels of hell you probably loved the first book and maybe hung in there for the Book 2 and 3.
If author hasn’t lost you yet - forget all that. We’re leaving that behind to a scratch a whole surface of Dis.
This is so brutal. The mind screw of the Between, journey to Kur, the Queen of Kur. The degradation, humiliation, hate, anger, envy, jealousy, pain.... the test of love, hope, and inner constitution. I spent a lot of time grimacing and cringing thru this book.
A test of Melisande’s inner and outer strength. She is giving up everything for the people she loves and Sarai. Not that she has much of a choice at this point.
Who is going to help save the day? Or is she going to have pull this off on her own?
Editing continues to be consistent with some syntax errors for an enjoyable read.

With Satan on the run with Lucifer soul bound. Everyone else is left to pick up the pieces in the aftermath of the fight. The sword is broken and Michael is confused, Melisande is badly injured and the circles are half destroyed and many are left for dead. The first part of the book is Melisande coming to grips with the consequences of war and being forced to take it easy so she can heal properly. We see her men step up and force her to take care of her self.
i will say that the pregnancy kind of seems pointless. I'm not seeing the plot point of it yet. there was very little about her being pregnant in this book.
Over all i enjoyed the book. things are definetly starting to come to an end.

I have a feeling Satan was made into this ultimate bad but in this next book he's going to be inconsequential and be a side character instead of the big bad.

Sweet demon babies! What a fantastic series! Okay, I was so hooked on these books that I read them all straight through and completely neglected the “real world” and writing a good reads review. So I will just write one and post it for all the books.
This series was soooooo brilliant! With a bad ass heroine, dreamy book boyfriends, a captivating plot and sizzling hot RH, it checked all the boxes and more! Lately, I’ve been having a hard time getting into book series. By the second or third, I just lose interest but these books sucked me in completely. Thanks to the phenomenal Cate Corvin for weaving your magic and sharing your talent with us mere mortals!

Great series
I don't generally enjoy angels/demons due to Christian trauma, but this series twists the concepts enough that I tore through the available books in a few days. I really enjoy the love and loyalty the core group possesses for each other. The sex is hot, so definitely worth reading. I deeply enjoy the fantastic world building.
The filters are still obvious to anyone with a trained eye, and further/farther are actually different words with different meanings, but an average reader will likely still enjoy them and not notice the very few editorial issues I had with them. (My day job is editing, I legitimately can't turn it off anymore. It's what makes books this well written so very awesome for me.)

Hot Dis Damn!
That was insane! What in the world just happened. I’m in absolute shock over this one. It stared with a bang and ended with a cataclysmic explosion! I was not prepared for that ending.
First, I want Azazel’s library, naturally. It is the perfect mix of absolute terror and perfection. Also, hidden from all? Yes please!
Second, I love that this story is all about getting to her friend. Yes she wants Lucifer back, but she is totally focused on Vyra. I love this, best friend first.
I’m in absolute rapture awaiting the next instalment of this series! Give me more!!
