A Snowflake Christmas is a sweet holiday romance set in the fictional small town of Snowflake, Montana.
It’s another snowy day in Snowflake when Rachel Welch, RN finds herself bringing her nephew in for an office visit with Dr. Alan Garcia. Rachel currently runs her family-owned café while she waits for the new doctor to post an opening for a nurse in the medical clinic owned by the town.
As a native of Snowflake and a member of the founding family known for cattle ranching, Rachel’s passion has instead always been nursing. Well, until the prior doctor she worked for suddenly left town. If juggling family commitments and her dreams isn’t hard enough, one look at the handsome out-of-town doctor sends Rachel’s heart racing.
Dr. Garcia moves to Snowflake for a fresh start. Miami, Florida is all he’s ever known. But, after drug-dealing accusations are proven false, the lingering tarnish on his reputation forces him to relocate. As an employee of the city, managing a small medical clinic should be easy. He soon finds that big-city medicine and small-town doctoring are very different.
Alan isn’t looking for love but Rachel gets him on so many levels. Not to mention he thinks she’s the hottest woman he’s ever seen. However, this attraction and connection occurs before he learns she was the prior doctor’s nurse. Can he hire her and date her? Should he?
Like many small towns, in Snowflake, everyone knows everything about everyone. Dr. Garcia does his best to win the hearts of his patients. Rachel helps him fit in, and Alan has the skills to heal the wounds from her past. As they struggle with their own inner demons, they also strive to be the people the city of Snowflake needs them to be. Can two people who are so right for each other prove to everyone around them that they are meant to be together?

Arc from a book tour. This holiday romance is set in a small town in Montana. With great characters and the perfect settings t for a romance this book is a winner. The perfect read for anyone who loves small town romances.
I started this book as the first snow of the season fell, luckily it did not stick around. I found myself cuddle up in my chair with a cup of hot cocoa and my warm blanket. This was the perfect way to read A Snowflake Christmas. I fell into the town of Snowflake, loved the traditions of the season, and became invested in the residents.
As Alan learned the ropes of Snowflake, such as what Snowflake currency was, he also realized that he was now in a town that protected their own even as rumors spread. Rachel, his nurse, is a Godsend for him. Not only is there an attraction between them, but there is also even more of a friendship between them. Alan and Rachel together can fight anything the town throws at them.
A Snowflake Christmas is a quick and fun book. Perfect for a snowy, cold night.
It is a honor to be a member of RWA and FCRW. Thank you to so many of the members for helping me to make this dream come true. Sweet contemporary rural mountain town with forbidden love.
A Snowflake Christmas is a sweet, clean small town romance. It involves Rachel and Alan who are forbidden from dating by the town council if they are going to work together at the clinic. It's also a slow burn romance. For the most part, I enjoyed this romance. I thought Alan and Rachel were a cute couple. It was a little frustrating that they had to keep fighting their feelings. But the pay-off in the end was worth it. The best parts of this book were the quirky characters from the town. They make me want to visit. If you are looking for a cute holiday romance, give this one a try
Snowflake is a small town with a ton of busybodies since everyone knows everyone. Hell, they paid for Rachel to go to nursing school since the town needed one. Their last doctor left when she wouldn't marry him so when Alan came to town to start over after his practice was ruined by no fault of his own. He's accepted in Snowflake with a 90 day trial, but the City Council has put an iron clad rule in place by telling him there was no fraternization between him & Rachel, the nurse they chose for him, or both would be fired. It just so happened that they had some sparks so things were definitely going to get complicated especially since everyone knows everything going on. We all know that when the chemistry is strong, it won't be denied for long so this totally made for a big push & pull. So, if you want to find out how this delightful story ends up, you'll have to hit those one click buttons! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
The setting for this book takes place in a small Montana town. The book is filled with a diverse bunch of characters, most of which are all up in each others business. While I love small-town romances, Snowflake was an odd town. I wish I could say the town was whimsical and quirky but to me it was an odd place; unrealistic. The writing was a bit bumpy which caused me confusion at times. I did quite a bit of rereading because there were things that didn't make sense. By the end of the book, things were put into perspective and I enjoyed the ending more than I thought I would. I'm glad I gave this book a chance.
Alan moves to Snowflake to take a job as the town's only doctor. He left a thriving practice in Miami, but because something happened there, he needed to start over somewhere far from Florida. Rachel is a nurse in her hometown. The town actually paid for her schooling because they wanted her to work in Snowflake. I am not going into details of the story because you should form your own opinions of Snowflake, Alan and Rachel. I will say they are contradictions to the story and I often wondered the sanity of the citizens, lol. I like some characters more than others, like Rachel's brother Brett and her nephew, who was adorable.
So, if your looking for sweet small-town romance with a whole lot of secondary characters and a Christmas theme, then you should give this book a try.
This is my honest and unbiased review and I thank you for taking the time to read it. :)
Rachael and Alan just click the minute I “met” them. Both as professionals and the cutest couple. They were fleshed out very well and you truly get a sense of their desires, fears and love for Snowflake and its inhabitants.
Great description of a Montana winter combined with all the good, and yes bad things of small towns that are pretty common everywhere. Other people we meet from Monkey to Bodie are all key to the story, not just bit players to add fluff. So many people we meet in the story have my heart and head clamoring for their stories to be told too!
Vickey is a new author to me and this was a wonderful introduction to her writing. A perfect read for a cold snowy day!
Dr. Alan Garcia has relocated his practice and his Mother to the small town of Snowflake, MT. Leaving Miami and numerous threats to himself and his Mother behind, he plans to settle down and enjoy small town life. He meets Rachel who not only owns several businesses in the town, but is also the town's one and only nurse. The mayor and City Council instigate a rule of no dating or fratrinizing between co-workers or consequences will be immediate termination of employment. Will these two people who have an immediate attraction for each other manage to keep their growing feelings for each other in check or will they give in to their feelings and face the consequences. This is a heartwarming Christmas story that can be read any time of the year.
Dr and his mom leave sunny Miami for cold Snowflake Montana to escape physical treats of revenge. The job needs a nurse, only one in the town of 700. Town Counsel stipulates no romance can occur between Dr and RN. This gets in the way as Alan and Rachel find growing attraction. Alan has many cultural differences to learn as well as climate changes. “ Snowflake cash” is a bartering system necessitated when the factory closed. Winter weather plays a big part in this story. PTSD, premie baby, damage by gossips, sheriff’s heart attack all thread throughout. I really enjoyed this author.
"A Snowflake Christmas" by Vickey Wollan is a charming holiday romance set in the picturesque town of Snowflake, Montana. The story follows nurse Rachel Welch and Dr. Alan Garcia, who relocates from Miami seeking a fresh start. Their chemistry is palpable as they navigate small-town dynamics and personal challenges. Wollan beautifully captures the spirit of community and the warmth of the holiday season. The characters are well-developed, and the plot is engaging, making it a perfect read for romance lovers. This sweet, heartwarming tale is a delightful escape into love and new beginnings.
I have just finished reading A Snowflake Christmas and it was so heartwarming. I love the setting and the sweet love story. When everything seemed to be working against Rachel and Alan, can they they work together and still have a life together? A town working together but at the same time creating obstacles . I actually want to live in Snowflake and use snowflake currency. I definitely recommend this awesome book
This charming small-town romance whisked me into snow-covered Montana and had my heart warming by chapter two. The tension between Dr. Alan Garcia and Rachel Welch is gently built, the town of Snowflake feels alive with character, and the Christmas setting is beautifully done. If you’re in the mood for a feel-good love story wrapped in snow and hope, this one’s a lovely pick
Thank you vickey for the sweet small town Christmas book. What’s not to love with a happy ending a small town romance at Christmas time. This was my first read from this author I highly recommend others to check this story out.
I found A Snowflake Christmas to be wonderful small town romance. While Alan and Rachel are the main characters, several others portray important roles. Plenty of bumps and twists keep this story going, making it a fun and interesting read. I definitely recommend it, and plan to read the next in the series very soon!!
Rachelle has always lived in Snowflake except to go to nursing school paid by the city council so they would have a nurse. The last doctor left when Rachel refused to marry him. Rachel try’s to avoid romance because most men are after her because they think she is wealthy because of her last name. ( this part threw me off because it mentions her paying parents medical bills, she received their three local businesses, her brother the ranch though they are alive. They also have money from the beef business which seems good, so I didn’t understand why she should be paying medical bills and besides wouldn’t insurance cover most?) The local mill has closed affecting all businesses. The town needs to save the mill.
Alan has issues of his own. His practice in Florida was ruined by a hurricane and a local gang looted and stole his prescription pad. His name was cleared but the gang was retaliating by threatening him and his mom so he applied for the job in Snowflake and got a 90 day trial, free office space, but then the council got controlling first setting him up on a date with Rachel. Then Forcing him to hire a nurse he couldn’t yet afford. City council offered to pay and chose Rachel since they had paid her schooling. Then dropped the bomb. A no dating rule or immediate dismissal of one or both. Ok this made no since to me. They did the blind date thing and introduced them but then forbid them to date, plus they needed a dr and nurse but was trying so hard to make them fail. Now having said this, the setting is amazing. I would give anything to live in snowflake. The characters were diverse. Some busy body’s, some helpful, but all a good mix to make an interesting story. I do wish there had been more romance but there were fun things and stuff that had you biting your nails. I loved Rachel’s brother Brett. Shame he was married because he would have made a great story! Jacob or Parrot as he was called was so much fun. He was Rachel’s little nephew and him dressed as an elf favoring table to table in the resteraunt was one of my favorite scenes. So if your looking for a fun, sweet, Small town Christmas story this is good.
