Dr. Judith Lucci is an Amazon bestselling author who writes what she knows. She is the author of the Alex Destephano Medical Thriller Series and the soon to be released Michaela McPherson, Private Eye, a series centered on a retired homicide detective from Richmond, Virginia who really can’t retire.

“Before I wrote fiction, I was an academic writer who published research, theoretical works, text books and just about anything a nurse or college professor needed to publish to survive. The differences in academic writing and writing fiction are dramatic. Writing what I know propels me to pull from my clinical experiences, some good, some not and use popular fiction as a means to teach and advocate for others. My books have three purposes, to engage the reader, to entertain them and to educate about healthcare and perhaps, the darker side of hospital life.

I am a nurse and hold graduate and doctoral degrees from Virginia Commonwealth University and the University of Virginia. I have always been a reader and a writer and I love it. I am a member of the Virginia Writers Club, The Shenandoah Valley Writers and Sisters in Crime.

When I’m not writing I am probably teaching, paining on silk as I am a multi-media artist or playing with my many dogs. Please feel free to contact me at judithlucciwrites@gmail.com. I am excited about meeting you!

Fast paced action thriller. Dr. Sonia goes back undercover leaving her children behind when her own father has planned something big and dangerous.
Intricate plot and very well drawn out characters and action packed till the last minute. Enjoyed it.

Judith Lucci has done it again! Another great book to keep you up all night reading to find out what happens! Dr. Sonia Amon has happily settled down into a quiet life with her daughter at her beach home and her son close at a military school. Her peaceful life is soon shattered by an attack on her home and the kidnapping of her son by her father the Emir. The nail-biting suspense is on as she attempts to rescue her son. Added to that is her new-found relationship with her contact with the Agency, Trey. I can’t wait for the next installment in this series.

Love this series, never disappoints! Action packed with suspense and even some romance. What is Sonia's father up to now? Will he do the unthinkable? Kidnapping, but who? What does the Agency expect of her? Will she be able to outsmart him? Can she deliver his head on a platter? Who can she trust? Will Sonia find love again even during this most trying time of her life? Judith keeps you reading, just have to know what will happen next. If you enjoy a good thriller, read this book. Recommend highly but suggest you start this series from the beginning and read in order. Received an ARC and this is my voluntary honest review.

Just when Dr. Sonia Amon thought she could relax and breathe again, she is attacked in her home but by whom - the Agency she had just turned down or her Syrian enemies back for retribution. Her thrill ride is just beginning and makes a lot of twists and turns along the way. Wasn't going to put this book down until it was finished. Great read.

Dr. Sonia Amon has retired from the Army and the Agency. She has been enjoying her peaceful life. She gets a call from another Agent Smith. She tells him she doesn't want to go back to Syria. She doesn't work for the Agency anymore. She is told she has no choice. Her father is preparing to make another move and they need her help. She gives in. She and her daughter Jen will be removed from their home and taken to the military school her son, Carter is enrolled in They will stay there until it's time to leave. Jen will stay with her grandma. Carter gets kidnapped and taken to Syria and handed her to Sonia's terrorist father. The mission now is to get Carter and get him back to the US and to kill her father. Will the mission be successful? There is a connection between Sonia and Trey. Will something come of it?
There is danger, suspense, intrigue, action, twists, and turns to reel you in from the start and hold on to you until the end. Characters are fleshed out, the plot is well constructed, and the story is very well written.
I voluntarily received a copy of this book from the author and I'm voluntarily posting a review. My opinion is entirely my own.

Dr Sonia Amon is finally living a peaceful life at the shore until Agent Smith calls. The Agency needs her help again. She tries to say no but then her father strikes again. He seems to have eyes and ears everywhere and he will never let her alone until she, or he, is dead. Once again she must go to Syria to do battle against him. Who will survive? Who can she trust? Ms Lucci does a good job of briefly summarizing the series up to now to catch up readers who haven't read all the other books without boring those who have. We visit with old characters and meet some new ones in this fast paced thriller. The five book series is available as a set and on Kindle Unlimited. It is definitely worth the read.

Another thrilling adventure for Sonia…

Dr. Sonia Amon’s father, the Emir, is wreaking havoc yet again. He has survived several attempts on his life but he is feeling the unavoidable effects of aging and before he loses control of his zealous followers he must find a worthy successor. His daughter, Sonia, is a traitor in his eyes, having escaped to the United States and become tainted by the Western world. More importantly, even though she is his first-born child, she is a woman and, therefore, not suitable as a successor. He needs a worthy male heir to rule his terrorist empire. All Sonia wants is to be left alone to live as normal a life as possible in the wake of her horrific experiences at the hands of her father. His reach has extended all the way from Syria to the United States before. Is it happening again? Can she and her family ever be truly safe? What more could he possibly take from her? Has Sonia’s young son, Carter, captured the Emir’s interest? Tag along on another high-octane adventure as Sonia must, yet again, thwart the plans of the evil genius that is her father. This story, like all the others in this awesome series, will captivate you from the very start and keep you clutching your book or e-reader in a white-knuckled death grip until you finish the last page. I can’t imagine what further tribulations the author has in store for Sonia, her family, and her friends, but I will certainly be awaiting the next book to find out.

I was provided with an advance copy of this book by the author and I am voluntarily offering my honest and unbiased review.

It is one of the best Judith Lucci books ever. It has good characy and plot development. Sonia's love interest is a dreamy guy who is the perfect guy. He lets her think but keeps her in line at the same time. I would recommend to all.

Obsession is a curse. It never ends, but may change appearance as it is inherited from a murderous father to his intended victims—his own daughter and her children. In Emir Faisal Muhammed’s eyes, she is seen as a traitor, tainted by the Western culture. As intent as he is to kill, she is intent on saving them and herself. The obsession to survive makes Dr. Sonia Amon mistrust not only her father—but also doubt whoever brings her information about his plan.

Being skeptical of her own judgement forces Sonia to verify the clues carefully and examine the motives of allies and enemies alike, balancing her emotions against cool calculation to save her young daughter and her son, Carter. The plot thickens when Carter is kidnapped and taken to Syria, which calls for a daring rescue mission. Will he be returned? And will he recover from his nightmarish experience at the hands Emir Faisal Muhammed?

The anticipation is what makes this thriller a nail-biter. “There was no way to predict what would come of my cock-eyed, dangerous plan. Nothing that complicated ever came off smoothly.”

Five stars.

Disclosure: I learned of Judith Lucci’s work when she invited me to take part in a multi-author boxset, Do No Harm. Since then I read Delusion proof and Fool Proof, and became a fan of the series.

It’s time to once again thank Judith Lucci for another labor of love that entertains us and engages our sense of curiosity all story-long! She uses literary devices so well they are seamless. No matter how much I started looking for them so as to improve my own (very inferior!) writing skills I couldn’t keep it up, the story was simply too riveting!
In Obsession Proof Judith once again uses just the right amount of description to make the scene vivid, not overdoing the details. She develops a scene so well, then can crystalize it all in a single pointed sentence. And she can reach any audience whether one enjoys stories of familial love (or hatred!), espionage, exploring cultural differences or even medical field triage.
What are you supposed to do when you had been an Army Major, your son is presently in military school and your father the world’s leading terrorist who wants to kill you and kidnap your son? Can you come up with a plan that is superior to your fathers’, figure who to trust along the way, pull of your plan and manage to keep your own humanity in the process? Read Obsession Proof to find out!

Lucci did it again with another great Sonia adventure. Will Sonia ever be able to live her life in peace? That is the question as she is once again lured into her father's world. All our favorite characters are back as the adventure unfolds. I loved the book and it was a fast moving read. Looking forward to see what comes next for Sonia and her crew.

Review of this book.

Another heart pounding exciting novel. The story line was magnificent. A truly wonderful read. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys an incredible story. The story line was magnificent. T never deviated from the books that came before it. The Emir continues to be a thorn in the side of the world,as does Ester.

The last in a series of 5 (so far) about Dr. Amon and her quest to find a normal life in the shadow of her father. This one was very good. Not a 5 star but a high 4 star. She seems to say that there will be a 6th book between late 2020, early 2021.

Entertaining, but not believable

Farsi is spoken in Iran and Afghanistan, not Turkey or Syria. In Turkey it's (DUHH!) Turkish, in Syria Arabic. Aleppo, where it seems much of the action happens, is not near the coast. Plot is fun, but strains credulity.

This was a great story about Sonia, as they all are. Very exciting and a satisfying ending. Will they ever be rid of the Emir and Ester? Maybe in the next book!
