After the events in Miami, former Delta Force operative Dak Harper sets his sights on the next target, former teammate Luis Martinez, who now works for one of the deadliest cartels in Mexico.
Luis may seem untouchable, but Dak has his own resources and a deadly set of skills that are rivaled by few.
Dak travels to Guadalajara and meets an intriguing cantina owner with her own secrets, and resources. As an underground enemy to the cartels, she gives Dak everything he needs to take down Luis and his employers. But will it be enough? Or does Luis have another trick up his sleeve?
This is the third installment in the Relic Runner Origin anthology of short stories.
Ernest Dempsey is a huge fan of action/adventure thrillers and science fiction.
He has been creating stories since he was in high school but never published a book until 2010, long after the days of high school were gone.
His action & adventure books come from a lineage similar to Clive Cussler, Dan Brown, Steve Berry, and James Rollins. While his science fiction novels are full of influence from Suzanne Collins' The Hunger Games, The Matrix movie, and Gladiator directed by Ridley Scott.
He is quickly becoming one of the hottest fiction authors in the book world.
On the edge action. Number two is in Dak's reach. Vengeance will be his even if it is bittersweet. Shocked at what Number two has become Dak sets up an ambush by a rival cartel while he goes after the opposing kingpin and Luis. When Dak arrives he finds Luis already eliminated the kingpin. Luis does some explaining, helps Dak out and Dak .... You have to read it yourself to find out. Great job. Thank you. On to Purgatory.
During the pandemic from China, this author kept his faithful fans up to date being able to read this series as it was written. Finally getting the chance to read it in it’s entirety is really enjoyable. Always new characters and plot twists with a great protagonist in Dak Harper!
Another great story by Ernest Dempsey! It seems like I always start my reviews like this; fast paced, action packed and a hero I'm rooting for. Didn't think I'd be this interested in another character series after Sean Wyatt, but happily I was wrong. Thanks, Ernie!
Dak continues the pursuit to Mexico to take out the next man on the list who left him for dead. He infiltrates Uruapan and makes a deal with the second biggest cartel to help him take on the biggest cartel where Louis is head of security. Lots of action and a bit of a surprise ending.
A really great, action packed short story, with some unexpected plot twists as well. The story moved at a very fast pace, and built to an explosive finale. The characters were also well portrayed, both the good guys and the bad guys. Another excellent story from Ernest Dempsey.
Dak Harper is looking for his former team members, not for a pleasant reunion, but to pay them back for their betrayal. This one occurs in Mexico, involving drug cartels and a lot of action. Again, a well developed and well written story
Brilliant third instalment of Dak Harper’s trail to make the comrades in arms pay for their attempted murder of him , who left him for dead in the cave , looking forward to the next tale
This book was full of action and suspense without any profanity. It kept me on the edge of my seat as Dak went to Mexico to entangle with dangerous cartels.
I love this Series bc Dempsey really makes you get to know and feel good about Dak Harper's quest. Everyone has a little bit of payback they want to accomplish in their lives and Dak getting his, satisfies the need in me. lol. Great author!
I, as always, thoroughly enjoyed this action packed thriller. I was taken by surprise a couple of times and that rarely happens. Thank you again Mr. Dempsey.
