The heroine: Tracy - a bartender at Vamps, a goth nightclub. She seems compelled to be near and talk to one of the gargoyle statues that are in the bar. She is a college student with anxiety and worries about her younger brother who has been struggling in school. When her abusive ex boyfriend nearly attacks her in the club, the gargoyle statue turns into a handsome man who rescues her.
The Hero: Danton - He has been locked inside his stone shell until Tracy needed his protection. The gargoyle shifters are protectors of the human race. He becomes human when someone needs assistance and stays human for twenty four hours before returning to stone, that was the curse put on them by a witch. Though if he finds love, he can break the curse.
The Story: This was a short book at <130 pages and took quickly devolved into smuttiness. I mean Tracy was certainly surprised at the fact that Danton was a supernatural being but she was too quick to take him to her house and then to her bed. I would want to find out much more about the guy before jumping into bed no matter how hot he was, especially after her last experience with a guy.
Also she supposedly had anxiety but the appearance of a naked man out of nowhere didn’t trigger an anxiety attack? It seemed like the gargoyle storyline was just a plot device to get to the smut rather than the actual plot. I like a good story along with my smut, and it did get a bit better as it went along, we found out more about the curse and Danton’s brothers.
This book was told in dual points of view via dual narration. It was narrated by Amber Lee Connors and Kieran Flitton, whose voice reminds me a bit of Tom Cruise at times. Both of these narrators do a good job and Amber Lee has a youthful feminine voice which was very pleasing and perfect for Tracy. Though I didn’t like the fact that Danton was French. The accent sounded more Transylvanian than French.

The heroine: Allana - after coming out of her stupor, she recognizes Mike as someone she once hooked up with and is disturbed by the fact that he didn’t recognize her. She thinks he is a jerk and isn’t afraid to tell him so. Allana’s best friend Lily is dating one of Mike’s band-mates Nico and she says Mike is a better guy than he acts, which is like bad boy to play up the rockstar image and that he is really nice with his friends. Ally is moving from teaching yoga at a Gym to working at opening a new Yoga studio of her own and needs to focus on that.
The Story: Danton from Heat is in this book as well. He now has enough power to be able to shift at will between his gargoyle and human forms. Though he still works at Vamps to watch over his girl Tracy who works there as well. He is also able to use his magic to help transform his brothers who also watch over the club, but they still can’t shift at will without help from Danton or without needing to help a human in danger.
Danton tells his brother about the events of the night. He tells them the man who witnessed the encounter and took the human woman away, resisted his magic when he tried to compel him to forget what he saw. He said he tried to ascertain what kind of supernatural Mike is, but couldn’t. They said he seemed human, but more.
Like the last book Heat, this one was told in multiple points of view via dual narration. It was narrated by Amber Lee Connors and Kieran Flitton. the narrators do a great job. Both have great voices and show a lot of expression in their narration, so this was good. Though Kieran seemed to be overacting a bit in this one, not sure if it is the content or the narrator.
I also liked the story in this one. It is much better than Heat which was the first book in this series that I read. It was ok but not great, it started out too quickly and didn’t get into the story and world building till much later in the book. This one was better and gave a lot better background information up front, which I liked. This one was also a full sized book while the last one was a novella so that helped as well. This book also had some peeks into the next book, Combust

HEAT
Tracy tends bar at Vamps to pay her tuition. She's going to be a special needs teacher. Right now the pay is good. The atmosphere exciting but tiring. She's alone in the bar after closing talking to her friend in stone-yep she finds it easy to share what she could never tell a real person. The gargoyle is one of several lining the walls. Funny, it's the only one she talks to. Suddenly she isn't alone with her stony friend. Her violent ex is there and drunk as usual. When she tries to fight him off her stone guy changes and steps in to protect her.
While wondering if she's been given something she surprises herself and protects him from discovery.
Back at her apartment, the gorgeous guy explains and so much more. This is steamy with enjoyable characters in a difficult situation. She's sworn off men after her ex. But is Danton worth risking a chance with or will she let him return to stone?
I loved this book from page one. A great addition to the series.

Mike, being part of a band, a successful nerd in business didn't need a woman. Many women one at a time, yes. That is until the bouncer at a club they sometimes played shoved a beauty into his arms and said to get her out—he hesitated until he saw the dripping marks on her neck. Blood. When she came out of her trance he couldn't figure out why she was ticked at him. Oh, yeah, what was her name? She was one of the nameless many from several months ago.
Not a great start to what he soon decided he wanted to be more than a one or in this case two-night stand. While trying to change his ways and her thoughts of him Mike would learn more about himself than he cared to learn. One thing that didn't change was his need to protect Allana and get her to change her mind about him. Would his help and charm melt through the ice around her heart?
Another hot offering in the Vamp series Blaze is as hot as the title and the characters are strong, feisty and belong together. Gargoyles! Love them and guards in a hot club? Wow. Each book is different in a world the author has created that is unique yet believable. Gotta luv those guys and the characters that frequent Vamps. Bring on the next!

I enjoyed this two stories: "Heat" and "Blaze". They are paranormal romances that are captivating and nicely developed. I really like the characters! The chemistry between them is off the charts. A gargoyle comes to life to protect the women he has longed after. A geeky rocker must protect the women he wants another chance with.

I absolutely loved this book and was honored to have been able to read and review. It was such a phenomenal read and had amazing characters as well as an amazing story line. I just could not get enough of it and once I started reading it I could not put it down. I recommend that you read it.

I really like gargoyles. It probably goes back to the Disney cartoon series that I watched years ago. I always wanted the big guy and the female detective to end up together.
I don't find these short stories give enough depth to the characters for me to invest a lot of interest. I will also admit that I haven't read the four previous volumes so that may be part of my problem. OTOH, I definitely get the impression that these are newly introduced humans and gargoyles so I'm not sure that the earlier books would have added to their stories.
Again, this is my problem but I'm getting pretty tired of fated mates. The women are gorgeous and the guys have big dicks and an overwhelming urge to protect the female at all costs. Not a whole lot of variety there. I did like that the venue where they meet stays the same in both instances so the crossover interactions flow pretty smoothly.
If I read further volumes will I find out what happens to Nike? I am a bit curious about her. Also, is Nico some kind of magical being? Will Ally turn into a vampire? Will Mike forget to use a condom and knock up Ally? These questions—and many others—may or may not be answered in future volumes. Will I read them to find out? We'll see...

Gargoyles
Vamps is a special nightclub catering to a select crowd. Many patrons dress in goth and appreciate alternative music and some classical heavy metal. Vamps is located in the warehouse district in a small town near Boston. You never know just who or what you might be talking to at Vamps. These guys are HOT, HOT, HOT!
Heat:
Tracy is a bartender at Vamps. She is a part-time student and part-time bartender. Tracy loves working at Vamps, there is live music and DJ’s. The décor is eclectic with gargoyle statues and a plaque as you enter that says “Abandon all hope ye who enter here” the supposed inscription at the entrance to Hell.
Tracy has a habit of talking to the gargoyle statues. One is her favorite and to whom she tells all her secrets, wishes and dreams, often as she ‘pets’ the gargoyle.
One night as Vamps is closing her violent Ex-boyfriend walks through the door and the restraining order to stay away and grabs her. Danton, one of the gargoyles comes to life and saves Tracy. This is the same gargoyle that has heard all her secrets. Danton knows he must get her away. He is a cursed gargoyle that can come to life for twenty-four hours to save humans. Tracy is shocked. He has fallen for Tracy and knows she is his mate. Can her convince her in a short twenty-four hours that they are destined for each other? Can the curse that he and his brother share be broken? Can Tracy trust another man?

There is a band that frequents Vamps, the Velvet Cocks. A group of nerdy IT men formed a band and their look and sound has exploded. Mike is one of those men. He likes the vibe of Vamps and goes there often. A year ago, he met a pretty girl named Allana and they agreed to a no strings night of fun. He even forgot her name.
When he is visiting Vamps he sees a woman, that he vaguely recognizes getting hot with a woman backstage. This other aggressive woman bites Allana on the neck like a vampire. Wait, what, that can’t be right. Danton, a bouncer at Vamps tells Mike to take Allana home after he separates the two women.
Mike feels the need to protect her and cares for her. Allana remembers Mike but is upset at Mike for not remembering her name. Allana or Ally is in danger. Who or what bit her? Can Mike keep her safe? Will their relationship weather this storm of trouble or will it all go up in flames?

GARGOYLES is a box set including the fifth and sixth books in the Underground Encounters series. It can stand alone without having read the previous stories.

I liked that Tracy and Danton’s history starts out sweet. She’s confiding in an inanimate object – like talking to a teddy bear – about the joys and frustrations of life. Imagine her surprise when that teddy bear – gargoyle at the club VAMPS – comes to life to protect her from an abusive ex!
BLAZE
For Mike and Ally, they have a history that Mike has forgotten, but then again it was just one night and he’s a rock star. He also has a history he doesn’t know about until Danton urges him to get Ally away to safety and his protective nature kicks in…. a nature that reveals something he didn’t know about himself.
Both of these stories are steamy, sexy, fun, flirty, short, paranormal romances. Don’t expect a lot of in-depth backstories. Go for what you can expect – and bring on the heat!

This is such a good series, I've enjoyed every single one of the books. They are all really well written with such excellent characters and chemistry and I love reading them. Each is a smoking hot, sexy, romantic page-turners with a twist that kept me on the edge of my seat not wanting to stop!... Fresh, new storylines with well-defined characters, witty dialogue and surprise twists that will keep readers turning pages like crazy! Each can be read as a stand alone and have hot alpha males and the sexy and sassy heroine that they love. Gargoyles: A Shifter and Rockstar Romance Boxed Set (Underground Encounters Boxed Set Book 3) by Lisa Carlisle is an amazing set that I have loved reading. I loved reading this box set and can't get enough about gargoyles. I highly recommend this story to everyone.

Even tho I always volunteer to read this author’s books, it is without any outside influences... So yes, I can honestly recommend this to all 18+ ADULT fans of fiction, and especially those who love grownup fairytales like I do ;)

This is a great set of paranormal shifter romance stories.Each story is going to keep you on the edge of your seat an the characters will captivate you. The chemistry between the strong alpha men an the beautiful women that steal their hearts. There are so many twists and turns to this set you will be riveted until the very last page. and will have you begging for more.I love the way this amazing author brings the characters to life before your eyes and you can feel their emotions and their pain.I can hardly wait to see what's next by this multi talented author.

I love gargoyles and these stories are fantastic! Each character is so well written that I felt that I knew them personally. They kept me up all night because I had to see what happened next. And there were quite a few twists and turns in each book. This is one author I have enjoyed many times but this is one of her best! A must read! I highly recommend this series!!

At first I didn’t know how this story was going to connect with Heat besides Club Vamp. Then it all started to make sense and come together. I’m glad I continued to read it.

Underground Encounters Boxed Set Book 3 a well written set of stories that kept me turning pages. Heat= Danton shifts to protect Tracy when her drunk ex threatens her. Another fabulous shifter adventure! I'll never look at statues the same way again
I'm not big on romance novels, having said that though, these books are so different. The shifter part is woven so effortlessly with the love story it just fits. Hot sex scenes that are tasteful and without all the swearing. Loved these first 2 books

Love this set. I didn't read the others yet, but figured they were good enough to read out of order. This had me drawn in from beginning to end with mixture of a little vampire and magic and curse. I give this 4 warm cups of java, ☕☕☕☕.
