Downward Spiral— a band with a handful of platinum records, and almost no hope of making it. Meet Lincoln, Benji, Lando, and Jude— the hottest rock stars of the decade, who’ve just about hit rock bottom.
Face the Music: When I left the love of my life asleep in my bed ten years ago without a backward glance, I never thought I’d get another chance.
Fame isn’t making Lincoln happy the way he thought it would. Will a chance encounter with the man he left behind all those years ago finally heal his scars?
Play it by Ear: The heart always knows, even when the mind forgets.
An accident left Dawson unable to remember the one weekend he and Lando spent together. The one weekend that inspired dozens of Downward Spiral songs. Can Lando make him fall all over again?
Beat of Their Own Drum: There’s nothing Jude needs more than a firm hand...except maybe a gentle touch
The band’s resident bad boy is about to get an attitude adjustment in the form of a brand new handler, or as Bennett likes to call himself: celebrity babysitter. Oh, and by the way, he’s also Archie’s ex. Things might be about to get interesting.
Strike a Chord: Want to fake date me?
A plan hatched from desperation as they both watch our careers burn. Benji can’t think of a better option than fake dating his best friend’s twin brother, Paris. The fact that they’ve secretly crushed on each other since high school shouldn’t be a problem. Right?
Bonus Content: Available as part of this collection is a short prequel novella to get a peek into the state of the band before love starts to heal them. You also get exclusive interviews with each of the band members, and a steamy bonus scene for Jude!
K.M.Neuhold has long since been a romance junkie. When she’s not writing she’s reading or spending time snuggling with her husky or her husband. She fell in love with M/M romance last year and hasn’t been able to turn back. There’s nothing she loves more than love in all its forms.
First things first... This author is a good writer. The language is clear and everything is well written. My ratings and comments below are for the characters and plots.
Book 1 - Lincoln's story - 4.5 stars - very touching. I liked the way she wrote the characters. There was a gravity to them and they gave me all the feels.
Book 2 - Landon's story - 3.5 stars - I liked the characters individually and enjoyed the book but the relationship was just a bit far fetched for me to believe. Instant connection is fine as a plot device but here the author told me they had a connection. I didn't 'feel' it.
Book 3 - Jude's story - 1.5 stars - Hated it. I've never enjoyed D/s books and I don't like it when 1 book in a series has kink because that's tough choice for someone who's been reading the series. Thankfully this was quite vanilla. I have read (and not hated) some dom/sub novels but this one left me cold. I could not stand the Dom. Maybe I just don't like bossy men. And I really liked Archer and Jude initially until the word Daddy appeared at which point the book was irredeemable.
Book 4 - Benji's story - 4.5 stars - I must say I almost didn't read this because I thought there would be bondage. But then I figured I might as well finish the set. There is no bondage. The characters are sweet, their storyline realistic and everything about it was simple and touching. No angst. A good end to the series.
Rock Bottom A great intro to our lovable but messed up characters. I'm happy the author put a trigger warning before the book started.
Face the Music I liked Lincoln and Jace rekindling their romance. My only issue was having a sex scene right after Lincoln cut himself in Jace's bathroom. I would have preferred if the self harm was kept separate from the love making scenes. It makes Lincoln seem manipulative.
Play it by Ear Lando and Dawson are very cute together but this was my least favorite of the series. The lip reading bothered me so much. How the hell Dawson is reading Lando's lips with a full beard is beyond any belief I can suspend.
Beat of Their Own Drum Jude, Archer, and Bennett have the best story. I am biased because I love MMM romances. Archer and Ben are both exactly what Jude need. I liked how the attraction was instant but the threesome was spread out to give the characters time to grow into the relationship.
Strike a Chord Benji is the only one in the band who has he shit together so it was nice to end the series on a purely happy note. Benji and Paris are just cute together. Their only obstacles are how the relationship started and a brief long distance bout. Nothing as heavy as the other band members which was a welcome change of pace.
The Replay series is about the band members of the very popular rock band Downward Spiral. Each member has their own demons and burdens that they have to deal with in order to prevent the band from imploding and breaking up. This series deals with some very heavy issues, but all the angst is so worth the romance and happy endings. I think this series is best read in order because there is an overarching plot line. This bundle has all four books of the series plus the prequel short story and wonderful bonus material. The bonus material is a series of short interviews with each of the members. I enjoyed this series and loved the bonus material.
I wasn't sure if this set would live up to its reviews, and I hesitated to get started, but boy am I glad I did! Each romance is so thrilling, so sexy.. My favorite is the D/s relationship between Jude, Archer, and Bennett. I have read only one D/s book before, and it failed me. So, I wasn't looking forward to this story. However, it was just perfect! I am thrilled by all of the K.M. Neugold books, but this box set was such a treat! I am sure you will enjoy!
Downward Spiral is doing just that. Each band member has a spiral from mental health issues, losing love, not feeling loved, and loving your best friend. Each of these books had some cumbersome elements for the reader that made them each beautiful. When you could see each one of them broken down and then rebuilt was magical. With all four books taking place simultaneously, we get a little more of each book's ending and what is to come. Plus a great ending at the end of the series.
I love rock stars and these guys are great! This is my second or third re read of these stories and they never get old or tired. The guys are so interesting and they have enough problems to keep you wondering what will happen next. So much fun to see them finding themselves with a little help and a lot of heat!
Replay: The Complete Series is amazing. There are triggers so be warned. Four band members struggling with the lifestyle of being rock stars after 10 years of constantly touring and recording. Each one go through different things and they all have to find their own way back. It’s a wonderful read. ❤️
Absolutely love this series. I can’t choose my favorite couple because I love each of them in my own way. But such great reads! Definitely love the bonus content.
Well written stories and well developed characters! Broken men trying to make it. They need to find the other half of their soul to be able to mend themselves! Wonderful!
I enjoyed this set. All the stories were riveting, hot, and ended happily. The author definitely does an awesome job of making you care about their characters and want the best for them. I was rooting for the band at the end and felt it concludes nicely.
I enjoyed these sexy emotional stories. Loved visit from Royal and his men. I would love to read about the other groups and their stories. There are triggers for some but so worth it .
Sorry this book series is not for me. I got totally lost with the jumping back and forth. I find this beyond me. It’s very confusing. DNF book 1 about 50%.
