Disappointed

The book was dull and unrealistic. The characters clueless. I flipped thru pages just to get to the end. Waste of time.

The story of Seth and Ellie captured my attention from the first page and held me engrossed to the very last page. I was especially fascinated with Alaskan dog mushing. This story is skillfully written. I found myself lost in the pages as though I were actually there. When Seth and Ellie hit the trails, being pulled by a team of sled dogs, I could feel the scenery: the clear crisp wind in my face, see the bluest of skies, the white powdery snow, and the exhilaration of flying down the trail. Sarah Varland is skilled at weaving a great suspense book that is also filled with faith and conversation about God. Real questions that many of us have had about God, and sometimes still do. Ellie asked Seth, "Seth, does God really listen when we pray? And does He really want to know about all the little problems we have?"

Highly recommend this book for anyone who loves adventure, a beautiful love story, and heart pounding suspense.If you love an adrenaline rush without leaving your easy chair this book is for you!

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Alaska Secrets. I'm always thrilled to get one of Sarah's books in the mail. She writes great intrigues and suspense stories. This book is well written, action packed and full of drama. Faith is important in this story. I know you are going to love it.

Former police officer Ellie Hardison is sent out on a search and rescue mission. A dog musher is missing. She and her partner find the man and he turns out to be the only man that she ever loved. He has been attacked and his life is on the line. Ellie is convinced his attack is connected to her best friend, his sister's murder.

Seth Connors was out on a run with his dogs when he is attacked. When he regains consciousness he finds the love of his life caring for him. They agree to find out who killed his sister. They go undercover. Can they find the killer? Can he keep her safe?

A terrifying journey as these killers chase them all over Alaska. God has a plan for these two, a plan for a hope, a future, and restoration. God has a plan for you too, a plan for peace and not for destruction. Give Him your heart and watch Him move in your life even in a time of chaos.

Ellerie's best friend and brother to her fiance was killed three years ago and it was made to look like an accident. That turned Ellerie's world upside down She felt guilty that she didn't act quicker when Liz told her that she thought someone was trying to kill her. Because of the guilt she left Seth, Liz's brother, and left town.

Three years later she is back and working for Search and Rescue when she gets a ca;ll that a musher is missing. Her and her partner set out to find him and she discovers that it is Seth and someone is trying to kill him.

Now, together again, can they pick up where they left off and find Liz's killer and have a future together. I think you will enjoy this story as much as I did. Check it out.

Second Chances

So much beautiful cold scenery I read with an afghan across my lap. Alaska Secrets is a warm love story that depends on faith for its happily ever after. I didn’t know who the villain was until he was revealed literally in the last couple of pages. That makes for a fun read.

Sarah Varland keeps you guessing, trying to figure out the secrets of the characters. I felt like I was in Alaska on the trip, running for my life! Another great story of secrets, romance, and God's love.

It normally doesn’t take me about 4 months to read such a small book but it didn’t capture my attention until the last few chapters. It was hard to get past the multiple typos and the story felt rushed. I love stories about Alaska and dog sled teams and that’s the only reason I kept reading.
