Presley and her friends are drinking their men-problems away at Dusty Hooks Dockside Bar while throwing eggs and rotten tomatoes at the poster of her ex. The only thing keeping her going is the memory of her neighbor, Kevin Locke, who had joined the army 14 years ago. She had written him a letter and added it to the box of goodies his family was mailing to him. When he wrote back, she continued the correspondence. His letters have reminded her that she is never alone; he has been with her for her entire journey, even though he was across the ocean from her. They were the only things that kept her going sometimes.

When Hector came into the bar where Presley works, he told her he was moving in with his girlfriend and, if she wanted her keepsake trunk, she needed to come get it or it would be thrown out. Kevin grabbed him and led him out of the bar, but he had determined that he would get the trunk for Presley. He and a Navy buddy climbed through an open window and began to search when the door opened and Presley walked in. She knew where the trunk was and they quickly got it and left. Kevin drove her home and she showed him what mattered most to her in the trunk: his letters. He kissed her, but she insisted it was too soon. But he told her he was hers and she was his. Then he left.

When Hector came into the bar again to find out who took the trunk he was keeping from Presley, he got insulting and Kevin punched him. When he again mouthed off, Presley kneed him and he fell to the floor. The next day, Kevin came by to show her his precious items in his own keepsake box: her letters. Then he apologized for defending her and not letting her do it herself. He told her she had always been strong. It takes courage to be kind. It takes strength to keep trying. It takes bravery to keep putting herself out into the world, even when the world forgets about her or rejects her. Because what kind of girl has such a big heart that she writes to an old neighbor every month for years just because she doesn’t want him to be lonely? And he told her he would be proud to be her partner and stand beside her, and love her. Is she ready yet to begin a serious relationship with the man whose heart she has held for so many years?

This is a cute story with love and friendship front and center! I enjoyed it and loved the characters (except for Hector, of course)! Grab your copy and see where their journey takes them. Are they ready to continue on to a HEA that was always meant for them?

The secrets that she keeps locked in her trunk

Hot for the Sergeant by Liz Fox is the fourth book in the Hot for Heroes series where each book is by a different author. This is the story of Presley and Kevin.
Presley is twenty-eight years old and is finally getting her divorce finalized from her drip of an ex. She works as a bartender in her best friend's bar, . Fourteen years ago Presley wrote a letter to Kevin, who was the son of their neighbor. Kevin had graduated high school and joined the Army so she thought it would be nice to include a letter in the care package his parents were sending him. To her surprise he replied and they became pen pals writing once a month for the last fourteen years. Presley has gone through a lot during last years and she has shared some of that in her letters to Kevin. But she has also kept him and their writing to each other a secret from her best friends.
Kevin is thirty-two years old and is a Sergeant in the Army. He had enlisted straight out of high school fourteen years ago and has been deployed all over the world. But he has come back home where he is going to be a Drill Sergeant, to finish his career. Shortly after he enlisted his parents sent a care package and inside was a letter from the young daughter of the family friends that lived next door, Presley. He responded and this set a routine of writing once a month to each other over the last fourteen years. Her letters meant and still mean a lot to him as they helped him keep sane. But a couple of years ago Presley's letters changed as she opened up about the struggles she was having in her marriage. She suspected her husband was cheating on her and that she had made a mistake in marrying him. A year later she had left him and was starting out again but still tied to him because he would not sign the divorce papers. Now that he is back home, well one town over to be precise, he decides that it is time to claim Presley as his and make sure that her ex gets out of the picture completely.

I really enjoyed this fast-paced, fun, entertaining and sexy short story. The story-line kept my interest and I loved the characters, especially Presley's best friends Sherri and Liliana. This is another charming and dirty sexy story by Liz Fox.

Hot for the Sergeant is the fourth installment in the Hot for the Heroes series. This one is penned by Liz Fox. In this curvy woman and military romance, readers witness the romantic journey of Presley and Kevin. They’ve known each other for years. Despite their age difference, Presley ad Keven have kept up a decade long correspondence. During the time he is in the army, Presely got married. However, that marriage did not last. Her husband, Hector, cheated on her. Kevin is transferred to a nearby base when he assumed the Drill Sergeant position. Now, he is ready to pursue Presley, whom he is in love with. How will Presley react when she sees Kevin? Are there any hurdles they must jump over? To find out, you must read this book.

Ms. Fox does an outstanding job utilizing literary devices. Her dialog, both conversational and internal monolgoues are outstanding. Readers arner a better understanding of their character traits, their backstories, their pain and their happiness. The lead characters are multi-dimensional. The secondary characters are interesting and contribute to the plot’s movement. Way to go, Ms. Fox.

Loved it! There are so many amazing things about this book. First, I love the longtime connection between Kevin and Presley, and I especially adored that the majority of their relationship was through letters. Second, the depth of the connection between the two was wonderful. Despite the vastly different lives and the miles separating Kevin and Presley, they are each other's support and confidant, building bonds long before either truly realizes what is happening. Third, once they meet once again, once feelings are finally being realized, Presley demands respect and Kevin doesn't hesitate to give Presley her due. Love and respect and compromise and attraction all combine to make the an amazing couple. A fun and sexy read, a great addition to this series! Happy Reading!

Presley and her friends are celebrating her divorce from Hecktor. After throwing rotten fruit, vegetables and eggs it was time to clean up and wait for the entertainment. When a man walks in while Presley is getting a lap dance the dude loses it and throws the strippers out. That's how Kevin finally gets with Presley. They have been writing for 15 years and have been the best of friends and comfort to each other when they were lonely. This is the sweetest, funny, steamy, hot sexy story and I enjoyed it immensely. It made me want to sing that song. "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine, You make me happy, when skies are grey, You'll never know dear, how much I love you, Please don't take my Sunshine away." Priceless. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

A simple thing like writing a note to give not encouragement but hope turned into much more than Presley or Kevin could have thought. When

Hot for the Sergeant is a great story of a love and protectiveness that develops over time through letters. Kevin is away in the military when he starts receiving letter from his neighbor. When he returns home, Presley is more to him than a pen pal. This story is sweet, heart warming tale that will make you smile as you read the connect between all the characters.

I am looking forward to reading more from this author.

Kevin has been away in the military for years and all he has to give him hope and strength to fight is the letters he gets from Presley. Now he is stationed now in Haven Falls and he is going to see Presley a lot.
Presley only has the letters she wrote to Kevin, where she can write about her feelings and what happens in her life, and the ones she received from Kevin.
This is not an insta-love story as their relationship is building up for ages in the letters and as it takes so long, that relationship is unbreakable.
Protectiveness, respect and loyalty along with love make this story a beautiful read.

The greatest high may come from deep down feelings that develop slowly over time.
Hardly anyone writes letters these days, but Presley does just that to her neighbor Kevin. She enjoys communicating with him over the years but what happens when they meet face to face? Will reality collide head on and they crash and burn or will they be able to make a permanent relationship? An interesting story that will keep you riveted until the end. Keep a few tissues nearby. A few tears fell when reading the epilogue.

This book was super romantic. The relationship between Presley and Kevin is so open, communicative, supportive and loving. Their chemistry is steamy hot. I especially loved the inclusion of some of their letters as isn’t it most women’s dream to get letters from who may be the man of their dreams? This totally made the book entertaining and interesting. A very welcome addition to my library!

Another great story by Liz Fox. It all began with letters from his teenage neighbor, Presley when he was deployed. As the years went by Kevin fell for Presley and he knew they belonged together. When he comes home to stay he is determined to prove to Presley they belong together. He knows she belongs with him and now it's time she knows it too. But Kevin will have work to convince Presley to give them a chance after a nasty breakup with her ex-husband. If you enjoy quick and steamy romance, you will love this story.

This was the first short, insta-love book that I’ve read that didn’t feel rushed. It was so well written that I actually forgot it was a short story. The events and background were paced and detailed perfectly which gave the plot amazing overall validity.

Kevin and Presley had such a sweet story. I almost wish we would have gotten their letters all at once, to solidify their bond early on in a prequel or something. But, I loved learning new pieces of the characters in each new chapter. Kevin was so protective and supportive of his sunshine. And Presley was super feisty yet so sweet.

Presley and Kevin share an epic slow burn during their story. While this is a short story, the message that it carries is massive. The characters are driven and well-rounded. The backgrounds are fleshed out. The small town feel between Presley and her friends is comfortable. I like this book. It is easy to read and flows well

I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of this book via Booksprout. I think this story should have been called ‘Hot for the Neighbor’ because while Presley wasn’t opposed to the idea of Kevin, he was clearly ahead of her in terms of a relationship and how he felt about her. I enjoyed the story and it’s pacing. Every woman has had a “Hector” in their life and wants someone as steadfast as a “Kevin”.
