On My Knees is the personal journal of a woman who, together with her family, served God in China. Her revelation of how God answered her prayers for protection is breathtaking, but even more profound is the assurance that God cares about our every need—even the “small stuff.” A wonderful read for those who wonder if God hears them.
This is a tiny book in size, but mighty in it's message. When was the last time you prayed, fully believing that our Heavenly Father would hear your prayer and answer it? When was the last time you took the little cares of your life before His throne and prayed for grace to make it through the day, for peace in the midst of tumult, for His patience and grace to be shown through you?
This was a mighty convicting little book. A must read, that I recommend for everyone, everywhere. It is one of those books that you can turn to when your faith seems weak and you need a good dose of spiritual castor oil to make you feel better.
A quaint little book I read because I knew its author, Rosalind Goforth, had gone to China as a missionary and I love missionary stories. She lays out many instances where answers to prayer were simple but some quite astonishing! In brief, not too detailed accounts, she was steadfast in recording God’s faithfulness. “I love the Lord, because He has heard My voice and my supplications.” Psalms 116:1
This was a phenomenal little book! It simply records God's faithfulness to one missionary family in China during the turn of the 20th century. Page after page encouraged my heart, quickened my spirit, and brought praise to my lips for the God Who sees His people and takes care of all the little things as well as the big things if they put their trust in Him.
I love the Goforth's story, their love for God and people surpassed all the obstacles they faced. This little treasure is a recollection of God's faithfulness even when we fail, even when it seems impossible... It's there account of prayer and miracles. What an encouragement to walk closely with our God.
