IN THE WAKE OF EMPYRE, JEN WALTERS GOES IMMORTAL! The Cotati invasion has changed everything for Jennifer Walters. Now she seems to have a new lease on life…but things are never that simple for the gamma-powered. Al Ewing gives She-Hulk the “IMMORTAL” treatment with a horrifying stand-alone tale!
4.25 stars. This book added some new stuff to the Marvel lore of She-Hulk. Pretty cool stuff. Also for anyone following Immortal Hulk, this brings about some new revelations about the green door. Excited to read the next few issues of Immortal Hulk even more now.
THE IMMORTAL SHE-HULK #1, available Wednesday from Marvel Comics, is an issue that many fans have been waiting for. The theories surrounding She-Hulk are finally out in the open – with plenty of new information to delve into.
he Immortal Hulk has been a groundbreaking series right from the start. Yet it left many fans wondering what the implications were about the other Hulks out in the universe. Including, perhaps especially, She-Hulk.
After all, she’s taken front and center ever since the events that led to her cousin’s drastic changes. She stepped up, joined the Avengers. She battled in the War of the Realms, and put everything on the line when the Cotati showed up.
Literally, as it turned out. The last major Marvel event claimed her life – but was unable to keep it. It was a moment that fans were almost anticipating. The confirmation that she too is an Immortal Hulk.
‘The Three Deaths of Jennifer Walters’ delves into the mystery of her resurrection. As you can guess from the title, it’s going to go quite a bit further than her most recent death. Will this issue contain all the answers fans have been waiting for?
Jen visits Wolverine and Thor as she struggles to come to terms with her immortality, but an encounter with The Leader in...sort of Hell...maybe...throws her immortality into question.
And...this issue is far better than that makes it sound. This is a fascinating insight into the mind of Jen Walters, ably written by Al Ewing, whose writing is always thoroughly enjoyable.
Also, this, I believe, finally brings Empyre to a close!
I've collected hundreds of issues and trades of DC titles but only a handful of marvel books.
When I do collect marvel its nearly exclusively She-Hulk... unfortunately nothing has been really all that inspired, and the art hasn't compared to my DC books.
All that has changed with The Immortal She-Hulk #1!!!
Totally loved this reboot of the character and the art was top notch!
I never never never collect current singles. Usually only singles if no trade is available...
I'm making a big exception for Immortal She-Hulk, I will collect this run and stay current with the singles! I'm so excited to finally connect with a Marvel character on this level of excitement!
If your a fan of She-Hulk and want an entry point this has loads of promise!! 5 stars!!!
Nice retelling of She-Hulk experiences with death along an explanation of why she acts like Savage Hulk nowadays. You definitely need knowledge of Immortal Hulk story to understand the concept of the Below-Place and the ending, but thankfully it explains pretty well the adventures She-Hulk had while Bruce Banner was in his psychological journey, so this is the perfect issue to understand what was happening to She-Hulk during Immortal Hulk.
WOW. What an issue! As someone who does not read Immortal Hulk, I really enjoyed this issue. I got the Timeless Alex Ross cover, which took my breath away. The whole team did an amazing job and the writing was incredible. Highly recommend.
Tying into the ongoing Immortal Hulk saga and Jennifer's turn of events in Empyre, here we see Jen's cycle of events through the green door and how many times she might have died.
A fantastic one-off that shows off Jen's character
