Daniel Langdon has returned from war a broken man. Though his body is sound, rumors abound that his mind is not. Nightmares haunt him and insecurities close in on him until he can no longer hide his failings from his family. Acquiescing to his mother’s request that he take time to rest with family friends in Scotland, he gives in to desolation. Only the unexpected arrival of an old sweetheart might convince his heart to beat anew.
A woman’s healing touch…
Elenore MacAllister has never admitted to Daniel’s claim on her heart, they were only children when he’d won her over, after all. The pained and brooding man visiting her family’s estate is a far cry from the cheerful boy she once knew, but she can still catch glimpses of that boy in his eyes. Determined to help him, she can only hope her love, and perhaps a healthy dose of cunning, is strong enough to heal the damages of war.
I have read every book in this series and loved each and every one of them! I love how the author addresses issues that are relevant in the current age and were also apparent but not considered relevant at other times in history also. This time she has Captain Daniel Langdon returning from war and suffering from PTSD although no one recognizes it as such back then. He goes to Scotland at the request of his family to aid an old family friend fighting to save their family estate from being taken away from them and also to find the peace he is seeking for himself. There he encounters a childhood friend and first love, Elenore MacAllister whose estate he is there to hopefully save for her and her aunt. This is a beautiful story with plenty of drama, intrigue, action, and suspense plus a devious and evil baron to deal with and a love that never really died. Is Daniel successful at saving the estate for Elenore and her aunt, does Daniel find the peace he so desperately needs, does Elenore find the love she has always had for Daniel returned by him and a HEA for them both? Grab a copy and prepare to fall in love with this series by a fabulous author!

I loved this riveting story about a battle weary Captain suffering from PTSD who travels to Scotland to aid his brother-in-law’s family. I honestly couldn’t put it down until the last page. The characters fairly leap off the pages, especially Daniel, Aunt Lilly and Lenore, as well as the bullying neighbor Baron Tyrsdale who seized an opportunity to take deceitful advantage of of his neighbors in a scheme to steal their castle and ancestral home. Emilee skillfully builds the story of two fierce intelligent strong proud women who are hampered by the restrictions placed on women throughout many centuries denying them access to legal records as well as so many intellectual pursuits, making it impossible to defend themselves and fight a court battle without the aid of a man. As it turns out, the Captain finds the surcease he needed but never expected in the process..

Lenore has been in love with Daniel since she was a child. Poor Daniel suffers from nightmares and mood swings since returning home from the war. When he is sent to Scotland by his brother-in-law to assist with a land dispute, he reconnects with Lenore. Lord Tyresdale wants Lenore’s family’s land and will use any means necessary to get it. When Daniel arrives, things escalate and emotions run high. This story will entertain you from beginning to end....just be prepared to ride the rollercoaster of emotions. It is heartbreaking to hear Daniel’s thoughts about himself and his emotional instability. Lenore is a fiesty fighter, who also doubts herself and her ability to hold onto Daniel. Lord Tyresdale will evoke anger as his sliminess oozes off the pages. Very well done!

Great characters in this one. I felt so sorry for Daniel he had terrible demons to conquer from the war. Then him leaving home out of fear almost broke my heart. Lenore is another fabulous character she is just the right one for Daniel. Perhaps there is a future book about Lily and Jack you will meet them in this book too? The story was great the villain was written so well he was a real jerk. I loved the story and I highly recommend it. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
Daniel Langdon came back from a devastating war with PTSD haunting and incapacitating him. Filled with nightmares and opening revealing his brokenness, his family suggests he go to Scotland and rest to hopefully heal.
Elenore MacAllister hardly recognizes her childhood acquaintance now. But she still catches glimpses of that boy and has made up her mind to help him in whatever way she can. Lenore was the perfect one to take on the task with her stubborn persistence and compassionate love. Would she get through to him and bring back the man she knew?
Daniel comes home from the war a changed man. Physically he’s fine, but the horrors of war linger robbing him of sleep and his life. His family looks at him as if he’s lost his mind, nowadays it’s called PTSD. He leaves for Scotland for rest and is met by his childhood friend, Eleanor. Eleanor can see that Daniel has changed and he is troubled, but she knows the Daniel she remembers is there too. As they get to know one another again, love comes and helps Daniel cope with his past.

When Daniel returns from the war he is a scarred man, not in body but in spirit. Upon the urging of his family he goes to stay with family friends in Scotland. There he meets Elenore, a friend from childhood, who’s heart he had captured. Can her love heal him? I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more of Emilee Harris’s books.

Book six in the Currents of Love series a well written story with a very good storyline the story flows smoothly across the pages. I enjoyed reading Daniel Langdon and Elenore MacAllister's story and seeing their love heal him. I would recommend. I know when this series is finished I want to read it again.
Oh, my goodness! What a great read!! I have thoroughly enjoyed following the tale of this family as they embrace life and all its challenges. Daniel and Lenore’s story is a compelling affirmation of the power of love and probably one I’ll read again -it was that good!!
I'm really enjoying this series and the Langdon family. Daniel and Lenore's story captivated me from the beginning. She's fighting for her family home and he's fighting his past. As they help each other it's only a small step to find love.
I loved this wonderful book. The antagonist was perfectly hateful and a good foil for Daniel and Lenore. I loved how family and friends pulled around them to to help foul their foe. So much suspense, drama, passion, and surprises. I loved it.

Daniel, her childhood hero, has returned from war, and Elenore is waiting for him. This is a story about a love that heals and endures. I liked that neither Daniel or Elenore gave up on their love for each other, and continued to believe in each other even when things were at their worst.
