He’s my dad’s best friend.
The father of my (secret) baby.
The only man I’ve ever loved.
Ever wanted.
And now…
Now he’s my boss.

Working for a powerful man like Elliot is stressful enough.
And having a past with him only adds to the pressure.
He’s always been gorgeous.
He’s always had that power over me.
It’s why I gave him my V-card on a silver platter.
Little did I know that I’d end up pregnant.
I couldn’t get myself to tell him about his daughter.
It’s been four years since my little girl has been reminding me of our night together.
Four years since I’ve been wondering if I did the right thing.

Maybe Elliot deserved to know.
Maybe he didn’t.
But I’m about to explore this forbidden relationship again… and find out for myself.

Didn't care for this book

I couldn't relate to either of these characters, or maybe I just didn't care about the characters to even try to relate. The story was flat and the characters were uninteresting.

I love surprise babies but only if the mom attempts to tell the dad. Unless he is abusive, he should know about his child

enjoyed but fell flat in some places.

This was an enjoyable read for a lazy Sunday, but there were some things that fell flat and left me wanting more, failing to deliver a solid swoon and so I’m giving it 3 stars.

The biggest thing I didn’t like was the hero never knows he claims the heroines virginity. I want that knowledge in a romance; I want my hero to KNOW the heroine is his and his alone, that no other man has crawled between his woman’s legs and rutted inside her body. Without that knowledge he doesn’t have the same sense of possessiveness, his primal instincts of claiming aren’t triggered, and that lack is so much less, it severs a profound, intimate connection between the MCs. So no swoon factor.

I also didn’t like the reason for why the heroine didn’t tell the hero about the baby. I usually love a secret baby trope, but the reason has to be good. In this case, it was a stupid argument and hero pushes heroine away. When she finds out she’s prego, she doesn’t stay away because she thinks he wouldn’t want the baby, or would reject the baby or because she’s afraid of destroying his carefully structured life, instead freely admits to herself he would be a great dad…..BUT BECAUSE HE DOESNT WANT HER, she keeps the baby a secret. ughhhhhhhh. So it was her ego that kept her child from having a dad. That pissed me off.

There’s also no explicit mention made if the hero was celibate during their separation. She was, but no mention is made if he was, as well. Prior to them getting together he had been celibate so the fact he wasn’t a manwhore was a positive.

The writing was smooth, only a few, minor typos that didn’t take away from the story. All in all the story lacked some key elements which would’ve made it swoon-worthy for me and it fell flat exactly in the places it needed to soar. I don’t think I’ll read any more from this author because of those missing pieces.

Safe-ish. Hero’s past is mentioned several times briefly, he was married before, has one night stands occasionally, but had been celibate for a few years before meeting heroine. Heroine is a virgin and belongs only to the hero, which hero never knows. No ow/om. No abuse. HEA with epilogue.

I really enjoyed this book. She sleeps with the neighbor which is her dads age and friend. She ends up with a surprise and moves so she doesn't ruin anyone lives. She comes back 4 years later with her surprise in tow.

Simple, Saucy Reading

A good book for a lazy afternoon. Fun and sexy without being too mentally taxing. I dig the whole curvy goddess vibe with the main character.

This was a quick read because it didn't have a lot of depth to the story or to the characters. Elliot is her parent's next door neighbor and the first time he meets Annie at her parent's home, where he usually joins them for Sunday dinner, there are sparks flying. But they are the only two who notice. When she sneaks over to his house that night there's a whole lot more than sparks. She just graduated college and he's in his forties. She's curvy and seems to be his fantasy woman and he's old enough to be her father. When they go at it like rabbits, protection isn't used or mentioned, nor do they talk about whether she's on birth control and if either of them are clean or been tested. Plus she's a virgin and he never picked up on that. We do learn a little bit about his first marriage and why he's divorced.

The story begins in the present day with the prologue while the first chapter takes place five years before returning to the present. The story is told in alternating chapters by Annie or Elliot. There was too much sex which didn't add to the story line at all and not enough story for the most part. They didn't talk much, didn't really know each other at all but they seemed to both want a relationship. They took one step forward and two or more back over and over again with a lot of missing years in between. There was one surprise after another as well as secrets. Her daughter, Lilah, is a mini Annie and at times she was a nice addition to the story. There is a happily ever after that was brought to fruition nicely six months after the story ends in the epilogue.

I've read all five books by Ms. Summers and will likely read more of them. I would prefer if there was more story and less sex so we get to know the characters better.

The couple: Elliot and Annie

Romance genre: father's best friend; secret baby
Part of a series: Yes (Forbidden First Times)
Length: 260 pages

Plot: Annie comes home from college, and her parents have a new neighbor, Elliot, who is not quite as old as her parents, but much older than her. He's also extremely hot. After meeting him, Annie sneaks over to his house, and they have sex. Of course she ends up pregnant, and since their relationship has been nothing but Elliot pushing her away, she leaves without telling him about the baby. Several years later, her father dies and she comes home to live with her mother. She starts up with Elliot again and obviously has to tell him about their daughter. And then there's a HEA.

Character development: Annie was somewhat aggressive in their relationship, and Elliot was wishy-washy. He would have sex with her, then say "we can't do this." At one point, he thought to himself that she was just being emotional. But every time he pushed her away, he became upset with himself and ran to find her. I think I would have enjoyed the book a little more if there had been one less push-pulll that became repetitive. Also, a small thing, but there was a mention of the wife's affair with brother, but no real follow-up. What happened to his relationship with the brother? And Annie's mom totally knew about their fling (Annie and Elliot, not the ex and the brother), lol.

Grammar/formatting: a couple of typos, but nothing egregious
Also, I definitely did not like the back and forth timeline. It was confusing at first, and annoying later on, only because it didn't seem necessary.

Next book in the series: The Temptation

Boss’s Baby is book 4 in the series but can be enjoyed as a stand alone. Annie and Elliot’s story is a great addition to this series.

Elliot moves next door to Annie’s parents and they become friends. When Annie comes to visit the attraction between them is irresistible and it ignites in a brief fling. When it’s over and Annie realizes she’s pregnant she decides not to let Elliot know.

When they meet again (this time with Elliot as her boss) Annie is even more torn. On one side she’s got a major secret, on the other she’s got Elliot who she can’t resist.

This story can feel a bit on the slower side. At times the pacing is fast and other times it’s not so the consistency isn’t solid. The story is still enjoyable and you can feel the heat and chemistry between them. You get the added emotions and end up pulling for them all. Often times I find myself disliking a character in stories like this because of choices they make, I didn’t have that with Annie or Elliot.

Sofia T Summers has written a 5-star book. Annie has just gotten home from college and it was a Sunday night when there was a knock on her parents door. Elliot had a standing invaction to eat with Cynthia and Rob. Annie answers the door and there is an instant attraction between them. Elliot is a lot older than Annie and it doesn't seem to brother her that much. After her parents go to bed, she goes over to Elliot's house and they sleep together. After Elliot tells her that it was a mistake, she needs to find someone her own age. Elliot ignores Annie and her parents for a week, until Cynthia comes over to his house and tells him that she is not taking no for an answer about him coming to eat dinner with them Annie is still there and all he thinks about through dinner is what he wants to do to her in bed. Elliot stays away from Annie for a while until he can't help himself. He goes over to Cynthia and Rob's for their Sunday dinner and finds out that Annie had moved out. Annie found out that she was pregnant and after what Elliot told her, she didn't want to be around him at all. Now five years later, Annie gets a call from her mother telling her that her father was in a car accident and didn't make it and she needed her to come home. Annie and her daughter Lilah goes home and she sees that Elliot still lives next door. Now that she is back she knows that she needs to tell Elliot about Lilah but she don't know how. Things stay the same until Annie gets a job with the same company that Elliot works for. Annie and Elliot start seeing each other again away from work. Elliot calls Annie up to his office and they get caught be his assistant Parker. Annie is upset over this and she is worried about Elliot and his job. Now Annie has made up her mind to tell Elliot about Lilah. When Elliot finds out about Lilah, he is happy about the news. He goes into work and finds out from Parker that the board wants to see him. When he gets to the meeting with the board, they say something to him about Annie. He is to fire her and he can keep his job, He tells them to stuff it.
Will Annie and Elliot get back together and become a family with Lilah?
This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

Boss's Baby By Sofia T Summers

Annie and Elliot met after she returned home from college to live at her parents house until she found a job. He is her father's friend who lives next door. He is divorced and over twenty years older than her but the moment he came for dinner they had an instant connection. They had a short affair which he knew was wrong because of his age,her strict parents and him being afraid of being caught. They ended their relationship after he said some hurtful things with an argument after a night out. He came to his senses a month later only to find her gone. Now five years later she's back their connection is still powerful and hot but she has a secret she needs to tell him. She was pregnant when she left and they have a beautiful four year old daughter. Just when she thought life couldn't get more complicated she gets a job at the same company that he is one of the bosses. Drama at the work place causes anxiety, misunderstandings, miscommunication and hurt feelings.
Will he accept his daughter? Will he still want her after she tells him? What will her mother do after she finds out? What will her daughter do when she finds out?
This storyline has it all older guy/ younger girl, secret baby, second chance and office romance all rolled into one book.

Four ⭐⭐⭐⭐

This is a 2nd chance at love for Annie and Elliot. Annie has just graduated from college and with no job she has moved home with her parents. Once Annie has a job she would like to move out with her friend, Beth. Once Annie meets her parents single neighbor, Elliot she finds herself extremely attracted to him. Elliot has worked long and hard to become successful at his job and those long hours cost him his 1st marriage. When he becomes instantly attracted to Annie he knows it’s not right and tries to stay away. Annie won’t allow it and goes to him and gives him her virginity and her heart. They share mutual feelings and know they need to keep their relationship a secret for fear of how her father will react. Elliot takes Annie out on a date and on the way home he decides that it’s not right to be with Annie being so young and breaks up with her. Needless to say Annie is heartbroken And once she finds out she is pregnant she instantly moves away and raises her daughter on her on until one day she finds out her sad past away. Annie and Lilah move home and help out and ends up catching up where she left off with Elliot. They have some ups and downs and once Elliot makes a career move he can then do right by his girls! Annie has had feelings for her parent's neighbor for years and its been hard not acting on it. However when she opens the door to invite him in for dinner and sees interest in his eyes for the first time she doesn't know what to do. Elliot is stunned by how grown up Annie is when he comes over for dinner. Sparks fly between them during dinner. After her parents go to bed Annie sneaks over to Elliot's place and they end up in bed together. He tells her that what they did was a mistakes and starts avoiding her entire family. When her mother ends up inviting him to dinner and won't take no for an answer he goes. He knows that he won't be able to avoid temptation of Annie for much longer when he can't stop thinking about her. However when he goes by her parents place he is stunned to learn that she has moved away. Will he track her down and tell her that he wants to give a relationship with her a chance? Will she tell him the real reason she left?

This is an amazing story that will captivate you from beginning to end. The chemistry between them is scorching hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Annie falls for and becomes involved with a neighbor who has become a good friend of her father. That would be fine except that Elliot, the neighbor happens to be twenty years older than she is. There is a torrid single night of mutual passion and Elliot develops a moral conscience right after and decides to end things with Annie before they have even had a chance to begin. Fast forward to a month later and Elliot attempts to reach out to Annie and tell her that he made a mistake but Annie has flown the coop and is nowhere to be found. The book then jumps forward to five years later and Annie is back in town with a surprise for Elliot. Yes, you guessed it. Their one night together had consequences. The premise for the book was good but unlike other books that I have read by Ms. Summers, this particular book did not really keep my interest or have an h or H that I could empathize with or that I even liked very much!! Elliot was a bit of a jerk and Annie was immature and whined a good deal of the time.
So, it was okay but not good!

Good but not my favorite in the series

Elliot wants to go to work, advance his career, go home and be left alone. He’s not interested in romance after finding his wife in bed with his brother – on their anniversary no less. So, when his new neighbors insist on his coming over every Sunday for dinner, he’s not thrilled. That all changes when their recently graduated from college daughter comes home. She’s stunning with curves in all the right places, and half his age. But that doesn’t cool his attraction to her.

All recent college graduate Annie wants to do is get a job, start her career and move out of her parents’ house. Until she sees their new neighbor – yummy! After one night together, Elliot tells Annie that they can’t be together. He’s old enough to be her father and he’s afraid of what it could do to his career. What he doesn’t know is that their one time together produced a little surprise. And he won’t know because Annie has left her parents’ home for points unknown. Will he ever see her again to tell her how wrong he was?

An enjoyable, fast paced story. Annie meets Elliot when she graduates college and he moves into the house next to that of her parents. They start an affair that is complicated by their “baggage” – in his case the memories of an unpleasant divorce – in her case worrying about the age gap between them and the pressures of his high powered job. Their affair is passionate, and then Annie discovers she is pregnant, and leaves town in order not to complicate Elliot’s life and job. She comes back 5 years later to help her mom when her dad dies, and the affair begins again. How he finds out about the little girl that is their child; how they deal with the fact that she has joined the company where he works, and resolve other issues in their lives is interesting and fun to read. I liked both characters despite the fact that they showed some poor judgement at times in how they dealt with each other. This was my 1st book from the author. I mainly disliked the characterisation of the MCs. Everything just seemed wrong. For one, the H, despite being tough smart businessmen with years of honing his business acumen could be quite immature. His lack of efforts and enthusiasm to step up his game when he needed the most made me scream internally to get-it-together. It was not helping at all when the two broke up due to a-heated-but-later-regretted conversation; I could totally understand the h's standpoint with her being young and all, but the H? come on!! Plus, personally, I thought the story was bit dragging with so little effort to foster supporting characters.

However, I have to say that the plot development and flow were smooth and quite descriptive with their inner dilemmas at the display.

Virgin h, celibate H
No contraceptions
No OW/OM during separation
No cheating, Safe read
Overall score: 3 second-chance romance stars

Love has no age limit
Elliot is over 20 years older than Annie; however, that didn’t deter her falling in love with him. Her parents’ next-door neighbor and father’s friend was a huge deterrent to anything developing (outside of a short-lived affair). There are repercussions to his ending the affair when he came to his senses a month later, and she was gone. She returns five years later and has to decide how much she is going to reveal to him. The angst created by the situation at that time is almost palpable. Great characters in this well written story about overcoming societal norms to find personal happiness.

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. Annie is back at her parents after graduating from college. At a family dinner she meets her parents neighbor, Elliot. The chemistry between the older man and younger woman was instant. They start to have a hidden relationship but that is broken up. Elliot loses his chance with Annie. Five years later she is back and she is no longer alone. They have so much working against them, individually and together. Elliot will have to decide what is most important to him. Annie will have to trust her secrets to him. This book was an emotional read. It was well written with great characters.

Boss's Baby. I was surprised at this book. It started off with a scenario I not a fan of, but then it did a twist on me that had me very interested in reading this book. Elliot was an older man that falls in love with his neighbor friend's daughter. Annie falls for Elliot as well but knows its too dangerous to have a relationship. Love always decides the path even if you try to hide from it. Annie and Elliot go on a journey that's full of struggles they overcome to be together. Great read! 1.5 stars.
This is terribly written.
The characters are idiotic and shallow. Annie is 26 in the “present” time of the story and Elliot is mid 40s at that point. These two don’t take control of their lives at all and as an adult it is painful to read “adults” being stupid and not taking control of a situation in a mature way.
They barely know each other. It was an insta lust situation when they met.
My version had lots of spelling typos. The author even lost track of how long Elliot had been working for the events company he was on the board of.
The ending is abrupt and stupid. The epilogue doesn’t give you the feels. None of the story does.
Disappointment all around. Don’t recommend.
I won’t be exploring anything else from this author.

Falling for my dads friend and our new neighbor is probably not the best idea, but sometimes it can’t be helped! Annie comes home from college to see the hot older neighbor for the first time at dinner. Her and Elliot have an instant connection that he fights hard. Fast forward 5 yrs later after Annie’s father passes away she winds up working for Elliot when she moves back home to help her mom. Can they rekindle their relationship or is there too much water under the bridge for them? Will Annie tell Elliot her secret? Grab this book today you won’t regret reading it!!

Oh this series just gets better and better. When Annie meets her dads friend and neighbour Elliott, it’s like a shock to the system. Problem is, he is about 20 years older than her. I just loved Annie , so much more to her than you think. Everything she has to go through , lots of emotions, dramas, and just when you think you know what’s going to happen next “wham”. It made me tear up. Great characters, who make such a difference to this story and not forgetting Elliott. Oh boy, is he hot BUT he definitely wants and loves Annie but struggles at first with the age difference. A story I couldn’t put down, loved it

I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book.

This is the fourth book in the Forbidden First Times series, can be read as a standalone story, no cliffhangers.

I enjoyed this story, I did find it a little on the slow and repetitive side. Annie and Elliot were instantly attracted to each other from their first meeting, Elliot, a friend of her father and their neighbor. Their chemistry absolutely sizzles, unfortunately they didn't communicate at all, except in bed. I really liked little Lilah, utterly adorable.

Elliot and Annie have a sweet, yet complicated journey that is full of passion, uncertainty and secrets.

Annie left after her brief relationship with Elliot ended, only to find out that a piece of him will always be with her. When she returned home after her father's dead, she did not expect to see Elliot again, or that he would be her boss. Their story is has strong chemistry but with the drama, hurt feelings and miscommunication of 5 years can they make it work?

First of all, Annie has apparently never heard of birth control.

Secondly, a four year old is NOT a toddler, and does not toddle. Ever.

Thirdly, and most important, there was no romance or relationship development here. The MCs don't even know each other. They had sex twice, went on one short bad date and all of a sudden they are in love? Nuh uh. Even when he finally proposes they've only had sex two or three more times, had one more bad date, and spent one non-sexual brunch with their kid.

I had high hopes for this book, but was disappointed.

Five years ago Annie met her parents' neighbor a sexy older man, she was instantly attracted.
They started a secret relationship but it didn't last long.
Now five years later he's back in her life but now he's not only her neighbor but hi's also her boss and her daughter's dad.

This book was good I just wanted Elliot to fight more for her but overall it was a 3,5 stars

Very good romance
It's a good hot story, but tender, well written, but it's simple and predictable
It is the story of a young girl who quickly falls (and it is reciprocated), under the spell of her divorced and older neighbor. But he is hesitant and when she finds out that she is pregnant, she leaves without telling him. When she returns a few years later, they have to face their feelings.

This is a good book. It was easy to relate to. Annie and Elliott followed their hearts long enough to hookup and than instead of talking after an argument, they went their separate ways. It's not really an office romance. Very little happened that had to do with the office. The protagonist in this is doubt. Everything works out when we listen to our hearts.
