Colour in the grannies, a game of Featherwand, a trip to Rug Island and more in this fun-filled colouring book.
Bluey has been a phenomenal success since airing on ABC KIDS in October 2018, amassing legions of dedicated fans and hugely popular ranges of books, toys, clothes, games and more. It holds the coveted position of being the most watched program ever on ABC iView, with over 260 million plays for Series One, and is the winner of an International Emmy for Most Outstanding Children’s Programme.
Bluey is a 6 year old Blue Heeler pup who loves to play. Her parents and teacher give her lots of time to practice, which means she’s become very good at inventing games, helping everyone choose their roles and deciding on the rules. Her favourite games are ones that involve lots of other kids and grown-ups (especially her dad) and she mainly likes to pretend she’s a grown up doing grownup things herself.
Bluey is an Australian children's television program by the Emmy award-winning Ludo Studio for ABC KIDS and is co-commissioned by ABC Children's and BBC Studios.
It's literally just a colouring book, with exceedingly random Bluey images, not grouped by episode or location or character, not in context, nothing.
Not a puzzle, maze, connect-the-dots, tic-tac-toe/noughts and crosses in sight. Not a single printed word.
Contrast this to the Supertato Sticker Skills or Supertato Sticker Book by Simon&Schuster that is full of text, personality, activities, memorable scenes you can recreate (or rewrite!)...
I love Bluey. But Supertato wins out again and again for printed materials. There's an EFFORT made there that Penguin/Puffin/Ladybird just can't be bothered with. I guess they're too busy trying to get their rich execs more money by actively undermining the public's right to borrow books from libraries... BOOOOOOOOOOO!
Supertato, in contrast, is as good in print as it is on TV. It's probably partly because it went from book to TV and not the other way around, but it's also because Simon&Schuster seem to care about retaining QUALITY in the brand and put the effort in. And it shows. They're a joy to read, and the activity books are awesome in comparison to what the Bluey franchise puts out.
C'mon, Penguin. Get a Bluey fan to put these together, and put a bit more money into it, ffs.
