Private Snake Camden is working at the engineering department at Fort Bragg since returning from a four-year enlistment. He always puts on such a show as a lady's man, always full of talk, but he is lonely.
Bethany Brigham is the base Commander's daughter. She is sick with a rare form of lupus. Her doctors don't expect her to live past thirty. Her philosophy is to live live to the fullest.
At the doctor's office he sees an angel and his heart takes note. Feeling a spark when they touch he asks her out. I love that even with all his talk, Snake is a old fashion guy. He wants to basically "court" Bethany. This is a surprise as he comes off as such a player in front of his friends but just makes him more endearing.
Being told by the Commander to break up with his daughter, Snake tells her he has been redeployed. You can feel his heartache as he puts Bethany first. He wants to do what is best for her, what he has been trained to do.
His brother M.E.D.I.C.S. are there to support Snake. They all lean on each other for this help, even if they don't realize it at the time. One of his buddies, Matthis, helps him get his head on straight about redeploying and going for what he wants, or in this case who he wants, Bethany. The guys and their girlfriends are a strong family unit. Their girlfriends are pulled in and surrounded by new brothers, proving that families come in all forms.
This standalone story is the sixth and perhaps last in the M.E.D.I.C.S. series. Reading the others helps to fill in the guys' backstory but isn't necessary to enjoy this one. Like the others it also ends with a happily ever after. I would love to see a novella or story down the line so we can check in on all of them.
Another beautiful love story, the last member of the squad finds his forever love. However, this was not the same Snake from each of the other books. Him being a smart ass was just a front. All his talk about being with women, I was not expecting that secret he revealed on his wedding night. I love him with Bethany. They were meant to be together. Two souls meeting and becoming one instantly. We always knew the squad brothers had each others back, but the way Mathis took over and helped Snake out with his love and deployment was amazing. They truly love and look out for each other. In the end Snake got to marry the love of his life and deemed unable to return to active duty in Iraq which is something that he didn't really want to do. I love a happy ending where everyone wins.

Private Snake Camden is working at Fort Bragg. He has, in the past, been seen as a player. But this story gives the reader a look at the “real” man underneath the façade. When he meets Bethany Brigham, the base Commander’s daughter, they both feel a powerful connection with each other. Bethany has a rare form of lupus and a life expectancy of 30. But seeing their relationship developing will melt your heart.
His brother M.E.D.I.C.S. are there to support Snake, just as they have always done for each other. They instinctively know to lean on each other for any help they need. In this book, Matthis guides him into getting his thoughts straight about redeploying and urging him to decide on what he wants for his life. Will he decide he wants Bethany, no matter what they will face in the future? Is there a HEA waiting for them?
This is book six in the M.E.D.I.C.S. series. I loved this book. It’s hard to believe that so much emotion can be packed into one short story but each book in this series does it. I’ve been intrigued by Snake since I started reading the series and have been patiently waiting for this story. It did not disappoint. It’s a short, sweet and steamy instalove story. It flows well and I never felt like it was missing anything or felt rushed. It can definitely be enjoyed as a standalone, but I think the experience is so much better when you read the other books in the series first. They give you a real feel for the comradery and love these guys have for each other. They’re not just friends they’re family.

I have liked the other stories in the M.E.D.I.C.S series so far, but I loved Snake's.
He gets a bad rap in the other stories, mostly by what he chooses to say, but being in his head shows there is so much more to him. Especially now knowing his secret.
He meets Bethany and they both feel sparks. Watching their relationship is beautiful. I was blown away.
He gets his happy ending and it is perfect. A must read.

One of the things I liked about this story was finding things out I didn't know about a character I have got to know over the previous stories, another thing I liked was the support the men gave each other, their love and respect for each other shone through so well. The story was sweet and sad, but was also full of love and support from so many people.

Beth's father is the commander. Beth has lupus. She is not expected to live past the age of 30. Snake has health issues of his own. But Snake is hooked. He has fallen hard. His squad brothers come to the rescue. There is nothing like family..... This book is very emotional and good! I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this short book.
This is another sweet story in the MEDICS series. It’s a gentle romance that allows us to watch as the realistic aftermath of Army tours affect the re-entry into civilian life. With great characters and a happy ever after this is an easy read. I received a review copy of this book from the author, and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
In the last story of the M.E.D.I.C.S series we get to see who Snake really is and he is such a sweetie. He is one of favorites! He is gentleman and treats Bethany with so much love and respect. Really great story. Perfect way to end the series.
What an incredible story of fortitude, love and bravery. Snake had to fight for his love of Bethany. It took a great deal of courage to stand up to her father to prove that they loved each other.
This was a beatifull conclusion to the series and it was nice to see Patrick from Falling Grace again....Snake meets the love of his life, his forever girl on his way to see Dr. Franklin. Bethany is full of life and passion but holds a secrets which she reveals on their second date. Will Snake allow her secret to stop them from having a happily ever after?
