The Ascent: How To Impact Millions Even If Nobody Knows Who You Are Now

Rate this book
You know you have a gift you could be sharing with the world at a much higher level than you've done to this point. You know it.  I know it. Everybody knows it. Maybe you've already decided to take the first step - then stopped - because you think, "Who am I to help anybody else?  I'm at kindergarten level just trying to help myself." Who are you not to help people in this world who you know you can help? People who are going through some of the most difficult challenges in their lives - challenges you've already been through, or maybe you're still going through.  There are people in the world right now who are at the very beginning of something that you've already overcome. And I'm sure that you had help from other people.  Probably your friends.  Your family.  Somebody who showed up, almost as if sent by your guardian angel, and who gave you exactly what you needed right when you needed it the most. And now you're in the position to turn and grab the hands of a thousand more. That is The Ascent. There are people who are waiting to help you because they know you can turn and grab the hands of a thousand more - if you choose to. It's always your choice. It's your choice what you focus on and what you believe about it. It's your choice how to evaluate any situation, and what decisions to make. It's your choice what actions you take. Sometimes the actions produce the results you want - but not always. That's how we learn and get wisdom.  That's how we acquire the knowledge and the skills, the distinctions that will help us forever going forward. Those distinctions are valuable in our own lives - and may be incredibly valuable to others.  Maybe people in your own life, and maybe strangers around the world who you've never even met. The Ascent. If I can lift you today, You will look back, And grab the hands of a thousand more. You don't have to get this book and read it. You don't have to put yourself on the line to help other people who really need your help. You don't have to raise your standards, be the best you can be. You don't have to live an exceptional life.  You can be like everybody else. But you're not like everybody else. If you're honest with yourself, and you look inside yourself right now, you know there's a part of you waiting to shine.  That part of you that you haven't allowed to show itself because you don't feel like you're good enough.  You don't feel like what you have to share is valuable.  You don't feel like it would be humble to claim that you can help somebody else. Bullshit. Not sharing who you really are, not allowing that part of you to shine into the world that can help so many other people is selfish. That's why you have the uneasy feeling inside. You know you're playing smaller than you could be. You know you're making excuses when you keep telling yourself the story that... Someday you'll have the experience...
