I read Prayers for Black Women at Work, Office, Home and Business, along with Workplace Prayers by Wendy Flint. Both are invaluable resources that have significantly impacted my spiritual journey, especially in the realm of navigating the challenges of the workplace.
Over the years, I have worked in several different industries—higher education, publishing,health insurance, nonprofits, law firms, etc. In my 20s, 30s, and 40s, I did not consistently bring God into the equation. So, yes, I constantly felt like a sitting duck, always waiting for the next bad thing to happen to me on the job. Then, because the world of work is full of challenges and adversity, I'd muddle through the situation and come out scarred, never healing before I encountered the next situation and the next and the next. Never achieving serenity until finally, the other shoe would drop and I'd leave the job. My average stay in jobs when I was in my 20s was about 10 months.
I now know all of those jobs could have led to a career—if I had a close relationship with God. If I knew how to pray daily for protection at the beginning of the day and then for healing at the end. Specific and targeted prayers, as are featured in this book. What a difference it would have made! The shame is that when I was around 23 years old and an older woman suggested I pray to deal with a workplace situation, I scoffed at the idea.
Now I know better. Prayers for Black Women at Work, Office, Home, And Business addresses a variety of issues that can affect our experience at work, including disappointment, rejection, depression, fear, anger, and purpose. This book serves as a powerful guide for me as I navigate the complexities of the professional realm, offering specific prayers that resonate with my experiences and provide invaluable spiritual support.

Prayers for Black Women At Work, Home, Office, And Business, is an anointed book of prayers. The presence of Holy Spirit was present each time I would pray one of the prayers in the book.
The book is a great accompaniment for a devotion time with God. The prayers made me consider the marketplace environment, the people I work with and alongside in business, and the office situationally. Because of this, I began lifting up the issues I would notice and the people more.
This is a great prayer book to help ignite and keep the prayer fire burning. The only reason why it does not get 5 stars from me, is because there are a few grammatical errors in the book. Although the errors do not take away from the essence of the prayers, or their effectiveness, it’s an opportunity for the author to improve as they continues their journey in providing more moments for their audience to grow in their faith.
Give this prayer book a chance and watch your faith grow and see your prayers get answered.
